Nintendo and Cygames' mobile hit, Dragalia Lost, is receiving its next chapter later this week, which will be the conclusion of the game's story.
Back in March, Nintendo announced that the action RPG would be shutting down later in the year, with Chapter 26 marking the end of the story. This final chapter will be split into two parts, with part 1 releasing on 23rd June at 11pm PDT / 24th June 2am EDT / 5am BST / 6am CET and part 2 on 24 July.
The game won't be shutting down immediately, but Nintendo hasn't yet confirmed when it'll be putting this dragon to sleep yet. Dragalia Lost launched on 27th September 2018, so some fans believe it will be ending closer to its fourth anniversary.
Here's the emotionally resonant trailer for the final chapter of the main campaign.
Are you a Dragalia Lost player? Will you be playing through these last two sections? Let us know.

I feel so sorry to anyone who spent large amounts of money on this game.
@Erigen - I just hope a lesson is learned about "games as a service" approach.
You're not guaranteed the game for as long as YOU like. Especially in the mobile market, the shelf lives of some of those games are tragically short.
Here is hoping Nintendo has some idea with the franchise going forward that they make something more... Permanent.
I started playing the game again after years of not playing after they announced it was shutting down. I had only beaten the first two chapters, so I’ve been doing my best to beat the rest of the game before it shuts down. I’ve made it to chapter 20 and I’ve been having a lot of fun.
Games like this that have a complete story, it sucks to see those get lost. I hope that perhaps there is some consideration for an offline version for console.
@Ryu_Niiyama It's pretty rare for gachas to have their stories come to a proper conclusion. Most of the time they just drag it on or release chapters slowly to prolong a live service. (ex. Granblue Fantasy)
There really is so much to love about Dragalia, but they never found a satisfying gameplay loop to keep things interesting between the new events and campaign updates. I hope there's a way to preserve some of your game even after the servers go down, but given how these things normally go, I'm not optimistic.
@Erigen I don't it's free to play they already acknowledge that it could shut down one day so they know before spending money in it
Hopefully there will be a ROM of this game to play later on by the time it shuts down this year.
Would’ve loved to try this game, but for some reason the majority of us Europeans never got this. Perhaps due to loot Box regulations or something.
I don’t know how anybody can honestly engage with games like these, and I don’t say that as a ‘because they’re trash’ remark. I genuinely don’t understand because the gacha mechanics, to me, are too distracting and I know that ultimately the game is looking to get me pulling the lever on the slots, so to speak. I don’t know how you can engage with something like that without being put off by the fact that it’s ultimately masquerading as a game in many ways.
Nintendo missed a big opportunity not to immediately pivot this franchise as soon as Genshin Impact released, and commission/develop a Dragalia Lost Impact clone as soon as possible.
I thought the game's final chapter was lost, and was somehow rediscovered. Oops.
@AlanaHagues I think you got some information in the article incorrect, part 1 is releasing June 23rd and part 2 is July 24th, so part 2 is releasing 1 month later.
This was a great game just in general. Really wish they did something more with the IP.
@Cynas oops, yes, you're right! Thank you, I've updated the article.
@Maximumbeans Well it's because it is a game with good gameplay, charming characters & art, bopping music, and tells compelling stories. It never hurts to try since it's free.
I really enjoyed this game while it lasted but it was too charitable for it's own good. I had more than 80% of the rooster without spending a single dime. That's fine by me, but looks like not so much for the suits
I'm glad we get to see the end of the story before the plug is pulled
I never did start playing this game, but after learning a little more about it and watching this trailer, the concept itself totally looks like my kind of thing, and it's sad that it's coming to an end! Of course, being a mobile gacha game, it wouldn't really be my favorite thing in that particular aspect. I'm usually not a fan of gacha games and I really don't usually like to pay any microtransactions. But if Nintendo decided to keep this IP going in the form of a full console game, I would totally buy and play it! Again, I haven't actually played Dragalia Lost, but the concept of the game and its story is something that I absolutely love the idea of. It might be wishful thinking, but I sincerely hope that Nintendo won't completely retire this IP, but instead make a new project out of it for Nintendo Switch (or maybe the system they decide to launch after the Nintnedo Switch). I would definitely buy a console game like that to give it a good try!
Like Ryu_Niiyama, I also like to hope that there could be some consideration for an offline/console version, but I'm not holding my breath. Doesn't seems like Nintendo or CyGames have any plans on the horizon to expand the IP beyond mobile.
