This is 100% a "when it's on sale game" for me... I liked but did not love RCR when I played it last year. Also, I am kind of shocked with the backlash from this review. The reviewer game his honest feedback and opinion.... why let it ruin your day?
I added this to my wish list a while back as I thought it looked like a good time. I read some review and impressions from other systems though and they were pretty rough. I will most likely pass unless the switch version gets some amazing reviews, which I imagine won’t happen...
This is not for me as the few times I have tried DMC it has not clicked with me. Love to see the release though as there are many franchises that I have missed over the years and releasing the back catalogue of certain ones is a nice way to catch up.
Finished Crossing Souls yesterday and really enjoyed it! I finally started up starlink battle for atlas last night after seeing its icon on my switch for what seems like forever. I am really liking it so far and could see me 100%ing it over the next few weeks.
Is this one better than SR4? 4 was my first SR game and I really enjoyed it for what it was (dumb action movie fluff). If this one is deemed to be even better than I will 100% be getting this.
I hate to admit it, however not having TATE mode is a deal breaker for me on this collection. Having my FlipGrip and playing Namco Collection (plus others arcade games) is so perfect that I don't think I could go back now with new non-TATE vertical games. If they ever release a patch (which I'm sure they won't) I would buy this the same day for full price....
Great review BTW... loved the breakdown on each game!
Having an achievement / trophy / sticker / stamp addition on the classic NES (and other classic systems down the road hopefully) would be my dream scenario. What a fun way to explore games I have played 100 times then to offer a collection of challenges to compete!
I don’t care as much about the other games on switch but this would make these classics so much fun to revisit and would get me to play games I might not otherwise like want to go back to.
This is the week my wallet was dreading.... I am picking up Aggelos, SteamWorld Quest, Konami Arcade Collection, Picross S3 & Ding Dong XL. This to go along with Cuphead, Kitana Zero and Dragon's Dogma from last weekend.
I have so so so much to play in the coming weeks. I hope for some slow down
I bought the deluxe digital edition for $40 a while back and have been waiting to play it u til this drops. I am going to play the game starting on april 30 and if I like it enough have no issues paying $12 for the extra Star Fox content. I am really excited to give this one a go next week
Playing (and loving) Cuphead once again. I really struggled on Xbox when I bought it last year and now it’s much easier for me... just entered the third world and hoping to have it completed by tomorrow!
Everything looks great, but pretty upset the Mii Fighter costumes are not included in the fighter pass. I absolutely will not pay $0.75 per costume... why would they not include these with the pass?
Ugh, will these not be purchasable in my Pinball FX app I already have? I really don't want to have them as a separate title. I hope this is not the case
I am so excited to try these.... I have somehow never played any AA game in the past, so this is the perfect time to start. Will be getting this weekend for my long flights ahead
This seems really clunky to me.... Will check around the web for a review when it releases as I love me a good soccer mashup game, however not fully sold on this one
Wow I am 1000% getting this when it launches (please be $10 or less!). It looks just like NES Ice Hockey which was one of 4 NES games I had when I opened it on Christmas all those years ago... my line-up is and has always been 2 fat, 1 medium and 1 speedy skinny guy.
I bought this the moment it became available, however it will prob be a few weeks before I can start it. I am excited to hear it carries on the legacy of the amazing first game!
My backlog got DESTROYED today with all the sales... I downloaded 5 games on top of this one. This might move up to the top of the list after finishing Flipping Death (hopefully) this week as I imagine it's not super long and the first one was one of my hidden gems from two years ago.
I played this in an arcade on a trip to Japan a few years ago and it was amazing. Playing an arcade game against an online opponent was a weird feeling but still felt right. I went 3-1 in my 4 plays having never played before!
ooooh nice way to wake up on Wednesday for sure! Switch has become my indie machine (with AAA filling in the gaps from time to time) so I am all in on this!
@Hyper_Hippy69 ya I played it in my local arcade in the mid nineties...20+ years ago! Used to spend my lawn mowing money on it, haha.....god I feel old now
I am alllll over this one when it launches. First game has been one of my favorites for several decades. Cannot believe they are making a sequel all these years later!
@frabbit @redwingleader I was just coming here to say the same thing... I can't think of a single time my joy-cons have ever run out of juice on their own.
Could not be happier with my switch two years in. I have discovered (and rediscovered) so many great games and have all but ditched my PS4 and XBone as a result due to being able to take it everywhere I go.
I have a feeling the switch will end as my favorite console ever
Might finally try and complete Zelda II this way now. I have probably started it over a dozen times throughout my life and never gotten past the half way point. Might finally cross the second to last Zelda game (no I do not count the CDi games) off my beaten list. Skyward Sword will be the final one for me and once that shiny switch re-release (please!) is released I will complete the series!
My favorite game I played last year! This is one of the few games ever that I think was underpriced on the e-shop. After 35 hours and 100%+ completion I won’t be double dipping, however if you have not played I can not recommend this game enough to anyone who likes platformers and a good challenge!
I had this game in my wish list right when I heard about it as I loved the look. This is the 4th review I have read all saying the same things... this has been removed from my wishlist
I will finally pick up Phantasy Star now! I’ve always wanted to play the series and I heard the quality of life improvements on the AGES release make it much more pleasant.
I own and have completed all of these other than ironclasts and the mummy. Both are on my wish list and will be next in line when they go on sale.
It’s funny, this is my favorite genre and I really enjoyed (or loved in a few cases) every game on this list other than axiom verge. I know it’s a master class to most people but I felt it was a slog and was happy to finally beat with no desire to continue after to find secrets.
I would add the games Ghost 1.0 and omega strike as other (smaller) hidden gems in the genre as well. I really enjoyed both games and enjoyed the short 10 or so hours of each. Also both are around $10 and can usually be gotten on good sales from time to time. I think I paid $5 for Ghost and $6 for Omega.
