Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 17th)

Playing backlog games this weekend as I realized I have waaaay too many games on my switch I have never played. Playing the following:

Citizens of Space - cool RPG from SEGA. I like it so far (about 4 hours in) but already growing a bit bored of the exploration...not sure if I will finish or not

Voxelgram - awesome Picross 3-D clone. Really liking this one

Membrane - picked this up for like 10 cents a year ago and finally decided to try it out. Cool physics puzzle game that was 100% worth the price.

I have been on a big Metroidvania kick recently so booted up 3000th Duel from my backlog earlier this week. I am at the very end tower I think (about 15 hours in) and I cannot get over how much I have enjoyed this game. I think I picked it up for like $8 earlier this year and it is so worth the price. Hoping to complete it today or tomorrow and then will focus on Tony Hawk 1+2 on PS4

Happy gaming all!

Completed The Mummy Demastered this week and loved it (though I felt it was way too short at only around 5 hours).

I finally caved and bought Burnout Remastered this week (got it on sale for around $25) and have been glued to it since. I 100% completed it back on PS4 and am loving reliving it on the go. Will be spending the weekend playing that mostly I imagine.

Re: The LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System Is Now Available For Purchase

SonicTheHedgehogs

Picked up 2 of them this morning! As many have mentioned above LEGO hold their value once they retire them and fetch large sums quiet quickly. I will put one together now and then toss the other in my closet for a few years to sell for a tidy profit.

For those complaining, LEGO is an expensive hobby and this set is actually reasonably priced compared to other licensed sets.

Re: Rocket League Is Going Free To Play This Summer

I read elsewhere they are giving a bunch of legacy awards to people who have purchased the game before it went FTP. This will include all the DLC and all common items (over 200 of them). You have to sign online before the FTP date though t receive the rewards.

I have 100% gotten my $20 worth over the past couple years and these items are just bonuses!!

I completed the original DOOM this week which as expected was absolutely a blast. Was in the mood for something a little deeper and longer so I finally fired up my physical copy of Darksiders 1. About 8 hours in now and am absolutely loving it so far. Hoping to have it done by Friday so I can start paper Mario on day 1!

Finally completed Underhero this week (it is fantastic BTW and I loved all 12 hours to beat it) so I fired up Agent A Puzzle in Disguise as I heard it was short and sweet. I am about half way through it I think and I must say... it's amazing. I am having as much fun with it as anything I can think of in recent memory. It's on sale for $2 right now and I full recommend it to all.

After I beat Agent A tonight I am thinking I might finally start Darksiders. Had it physical for a year now and never started it

Re: Borderlands Collection Becomes Free On Epic Games Store, One Day Before Launching On Switch

SonicTheHedgehogs

I am more worried that zero review codes were handed out for these games (at least that's the rumor)... I hope all three of these collections pan out as I plan on buying all three.

Also, I hate to be harsh but who cares what it costs elsewhere? If you want it on Steam get it there (same for other consoles). The prices elsewhere do not change my feelings on a Switch title. If the price seems fine (and TBH, $50 for three massive games works for me) then I will buy. okay rant over

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 16th)

I will continue to invest my daily hour or so into ACNH (randomly got Raymond to move to my island after finding him on deserted island!!!).

Aside from that I am about half way (I think) into Owlboy and will see if I can complete it this weekend. Metroidvanias are my number 1 favorite genre but I just can’t decide if I like this one or not. It is absolutely gorgeous no doubt but for some reason it’s just not clicking with me as much as I thought it would... going to finish it for sure but hoping I like the second half more than the first!

Lastly, I bought both Joe and Mac arcade games from the E-shop this week ($2 each!) and will be breezing through both of those in between... the second one is absolutely incredible BTW

Excited to have a busy weekend of Animal Crossing with the new month upon us I have a lot of new bugs and fish to go after!

In other games I just completed Teslagrad (switch) and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (PS4) this past week and am looking for my next (non-animal crossing) game to play out of my massive backlog. Will most likely start Timespinner or Owlboy as I am in the mood for a good Metroidvania.

Stay safe everyone!!

Re: Mini Review: Anodyne - A Unique Zelda-Style Adventure That Keeps You Guessing

SonicTheHedgehogs

I liked this game well enough and eventually did complete is but the reviewer's con "A bit too much backtracking and hunting for keys and cards" is so accurate. Towards the end playing was more of a chore for me to hunt these down and the constant back tracking to old worlds was just not fun for me. Overall I thought it was pretty good (plus I picked it up for less than a dollar which helped) but there are better games in this style out there.

Re: Review: Cooking Mama: Cookstar - Definitely Needed More Time In The Oven

SonicTheHedgehogs

We've had this game in our house for about a week now and while I can safely say it's not fantastic by any means, it is certainly entertaining and IMO closer to a 6 than a 3. Also my son absolutely loves it and begs to play it lol.

One thing I will say though is the motion controls are unusable, they simply do not work. We switched everything over to button prompts and have had a much better time since.

Overall, if you like Cooking Mama games from the past you will most likely appreciate this one for what it is. If it ever drops to $20 or below (I picked it up for $30 at Target) I think it will be well worth it for all.

Re: Mini Review: Wandersong - This One Can Really Hold A Tune

SonicTheHedgehogs

first off, I love that you are doing reviews of some missed gems of the recent past... great work!

For this game specifically I am so bummed I was not able too get into this one. I bought it on a sale sometime last year and for some reason it did just not click with me on any level. I complete nearly every game I start and this was a rare one I stopped playing in the middle.

Oh well, every game cannot be for everyone and I am very happy that so many like this one. Can't wait to see the next "classic" review!
