2K Games has revealed that Firaxis Games' critically-acclaimed XCOM 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The game will launch on the console alongside four DLC packs – Resistance Warrior Pack, Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, Shen’s Last Gift – as well as the War of the Chosen expansion. You'll have the choice of playing the base game or activating any one of the expansions when you play.
Port experts Virtuos have handled the transition to Switch, which bodes well for the overall performance of the port. Are you looking forward to this one?

I can't wait to miss aliens at point-blank range with my gun!
Real talk though, I'm happy we're getting this on portable. The mobile version wasn't as good.
Day freaking one. Unless theres shenanigans. I dont trust 2K.
I'd be keeping an eye out on its performance. It'd be good to be able to play XCOM 2 without having to boot up my computer though.
If the port is solid, day 1!
My laptop couldn't run this without freezing every 10 or so minutes so as fan of turn based strategy I think I'll definitely want this.
Let's hope performance is a lot better than on the ps4!
@Kalmaro lolzzzzzzzzzzz
@Kalmaro This was wasn on mobile. It's predecessor is though I've never had an issue with it. Played through a good deal of Enemy Unknown on my iPad
Great addition on the switch lineup. Will get it on day one.
@Kisame83 I played enemy unknown I believe. Just didn't click on mobile for me.
I love this!!! Definitely double dipping since i have it for xbox one. Xcom2 in the go !??! Sign me up!
I would hope they all runs great considering how awesome Metro and Doom ran on Switch. Definitely will get all 3 later down the line.
I LOVE Wargroove and Fire Emblem. Will I like this?
So glad to hear Virtuos is porting this and not 2K in house. I feel pretty confident this will be a good port and not as riddled with some of the issues that the PS4 port had.
@Samwise7 I have completed Wargroove (some levels with walkthrough) and I like very much Fire Emblem too, however I found Xcom 2 a bit too difficult. XCOM1 was fine but the sequel was harder than I thought. It's true that in Xcom you cannot take back your actions and if you want none of your units to be dead, you will try again the whole level again and again. Mind though that it has a too much loading. On PS4 had a poor performance (in the launch of the game) but a patch came after a couple of weekes after the launch and I don't know if it was fixed. I struggled on a level and then I left the game as it is. I think that if you want to change the difficulty, you will have to restart the whole campaign. So, it's not a bad game but I think that overall Fire Emblem is better. In Fire Emblem also, you have a lot of freedom with 10 units and play a game with different weapons, skills, working together etc. Xcom2 is somehow different. It's not an indie game like Rebel Cops. It's full AAA game with researching, etc and it's like two games in one but if you can play the game on easy and if it's a solid port with good performance and short loadings, I think you will like this.
Well there goes my free time.
Meh, tried it on PS4. Seemed like a poor man's Fire Emblem
Highly looking forward to this one particularly.
@YorkshireNed Don't know what you're talking about pal!
Xcom 2 is my favorite strategy game. Since battle kingdom I'm hoping for this port. Good news indeed.
@Kalmaro just out of curiosity, did you play on phone or tablet? I found it a much better experience on tablet.
@Kisame83 Phone, and it was a slightly smaller one than I have now, a galaxy note 5 I think. Just didn't feel as good as I would have liked. It ran fine though.
@Kalmaro I can understand that. I played on Note 8 and didn't play much, while I was engrossed in iPad. It probably just enjoys the larger screen. It was an iPad Mini, so I'm hopeful this Switch port looks fine in handheld.
@Kisame83 Yeah, here's hoping! I have a coworker who thinks the Switch is perfect for this game. I couldn't agree more.
Ahhh yeah some xcom, cant wait for this, I loved playing xcom on my vita, perfect to pick up and play 😁😁😁
I loved the original back in the 90s. I don't have a beastly computer so the reboots have been out of my reach until now. I'm really looking forward to playing this!
