@GameOtaku @nessisonett “How simple it would be if we were to draw a line between the good and bad half of everyone in their hearts and cut them with a sword.” A quote I recall from Jack Kornfield on the matter.
I am a fan of Marilyn Manson and find someone like him to be exactly what he advertised himself to be. With Jimmy Savile and Bill Cosby, they were the deceitful types and it makes justifying them for what they gave to children a lot harder.
With Ellis, having worked in entertainment myself, and one friend whose law firm represented him a decade ago, I can say this with some perspective : 1) he’s a diva, 2) he is an alcoholic and insufferable to be around when drunk, 3) he has an attitude of the typical victim who has low self-esteem and perpetuates a cycle of victimhood around him without realizing people who idolize him want his approval even if it means fulfilling his sexual urges, 4) he fulfills the typical celebrity who thinks he has power as a gatekeeper and makes empty promises to aspiring writers, though to be fair, there are people who do mean to help launch more careers, they just suck at following through and more often than not think that just a simple introduction to a friend is all that’s needed.
There’s more power dynamics and unrealistic expectations that make the exchange unequal and abusive because of what they give and what Ellis doesn’t give in return, as the stories consistently show.
Ellis is a one-tric pony when it comes to writing, but I prefer him over Mark Millar. Still, if we get a fifth season of Castlevania, this fourth one should be the last arc for Trevor’s generation and we get Simon or another descendant. This way, a new writer or team of writers can make any dynamic shifts without people complaining that the show feels different in the final season like House of Cards.
I had joycon drift but use WD40 for it. My R shoulder button works only 40% of the time, and battery is not as good.
So please give us a Switch Pro to address these issues already. I bought a New 3DS years after the original 3DS. I did the same with the DS and DS Lite. I did it with GBA and GBASP. I’m willing to deal with this the same way.
@AuroraBoreale yes, you are indeed overthinking it. Try playing the game if it’s fun first. If not, find something else that’s fun for you instead and won’t make you overthink. Have a good day wherever you are and take care.
Locke Cole is one of my favorites... actually, the whole cast of FFVI would be my choice for best characters alongside the game itself being my number one.
@Not-Geno hey, if tech scammers from India and Nigeria demand gift cards as payment, Blizzard can emulate their model too. End result: screwing people over too.
@Silly_G I know, right? As someone who lived in that time and many other games referencing the 80s and 90s, I chuckle when I see that a lot of them seem to be written by people who were probably born in the 90s and googled what 90s culture was like.
One movie I’m pretty sure had its soundtrack made by interns who just googled what were 90s hits but got the chronology wrong (as did its script writers): Captain Marvel with Brie Larson.
Nostalgia for the 90s is hard to satiate because of how often people get it wrong! 😂
@KateGray Normalize giving up on games early? Our favorite game that we never finished?
Miss Gray, you've just described the ARCADE! Us old farts who grew up playing games we couldn't finish because we didn't have enough quarters or we had to go when the operator shooed us out to go do our homework instead, or we just weren't very good at games designed to burn through our pocket change.
For this very reason, by the way, is why I have started loving indie games that have very short playtimes like Minnit, and have basically turned most of my digital library on the Switch into almost all Roguelites. No need to worry about finishing the game, happy to unlock more and more each time--it's like having an arcade experience without needing to give up my quarters I was using to do my laundry.
All those heavy-hitting games like Breath of the Wild are physical masterpieces that I haven't finished, but are a reminder that I need to finish them...and then it feels like work for some games. So back to the roguelite arcade in my pocket!
Well, I for one want these re-releases and remakes because I don't have access to those old games anymore or those systems. So keep them coming and add the dormant franchises like Starfox and F-Zero.
Well, if Nintendo opens the doors for other Mario games like bringing back the first few Paper Marios and Super Mario RPG in a new package, sure, I can agree with some of the reasoning here, Miss Gray.
Yeah, I think the 80s show is best and the aesthetics make it more fun. Didn’t like the games based off of 2003 or the Turtles Forever movie that made 80s cartoon turtles look like buttmonkeys.
One adaptation of the many versions out there for a video game that I’d like to see is one directly based on the comic book. Very dark and Frank Miller-like, though doubtful because of the association most make of all versions aside from the original with being targeted towards little kids.
I wonder what kind of hat trick Nintendo has to deal with this amount of sheer hate they know us fans have for this move. If it is something they’re just waiting on in order to surprise us, it better be good.
@blindsquarel LOL Hey buddy, thanks for the reply, but you're talking about price point, and I'm talking about how the N64 worked perfectly fine without needing the memory pak, but in comparison, ultimately the upgrades for 3DS were necessary because of performance qualities and buying an amiibo reader for the 3DS instead of also getting better battery life and a bigger, brighter screen. I see this more as a "nice to have" like the memory pak for the Switch Pro rather than an "upgrade to New 3DS with more improvements for much cheaper than it was at launch instead of just getting an amiibo reader for your original 3DS".
If we're talking about price point however, justifying buying a new model for about $350 or so isn't the same as just getting an amiibo reader for the original 3DS or getting a much cheaper New 3DS which if I recall actually cheaper than the launch price of the original 3DS.
I predict it will be like the Memory Pak expansion on the N64: mandatory for some games and an optional boost for others. They can’t alienate so many of their existing fan base. I’ll probably stick to my current model until an actual successor comes with backwards compatibility, or unless it becomes like New 3DS as opposed to original 3DS.
@Scollurio Hey, spin-off or not, a Yharnam or Yharnam-like Tactical RPG would be great because hunting as a group all those Lovecraftian and Victorian creatures of the night would be a grand idea instead of hunting them alone!
@Joeynator3000 I know how you feel. I was frustrated with Super Mario Galaxy both with joycon motion controls and the touch screen. It killed a lot of the fun I remember from when I originally loved it on Wii, but still fun, just not as much as before. Controls make a huge difference in enjoying a game.
I had the original, but could never finish it as the game was amazingly hard. I got stuck in the same segment frequently and didn't know the player's guide existed until much later, and by then, the disc stopped working.
I loved the soundtrack and still listen to it. Never got the chance to play it, but the demos I saw were hilarious. Still remember seeing the player's guide at the Virgin Megastore and perusing it.
From playing Doom powered by potatoes or on a calculator and a pregnancy test and now this...people have a lot of creativity that I'm wondering if it could be put to helping people too.

@Ralizah This is quite true. I've encountered people who did outright abhorrent things including sending photos and personal information of some member on a forum so they could laugh at her. I found out and I quickly contacted the member, and guess what the troll said to me?
"She went psycho on me after finding out dude! Someone ratted on me! Why's she so pissed? It's just the Internet!"
I would totally love a sequel...but let's have Wario and Waluigi be on the playable roster. Maybe have Daisy, Tatanga, and Wart appear in the game too in some form or another. Bwario and Bwaluigi made me wonder why their inspirations weren't around.
I am probably the only weirdo who has been excited for Turrican Flashback more than anything else the past couple months...more Turrican is always good and I have been playing GunlordX to keep myself ready for Friday.
If they make new Turrican games, PLEASE. Give me. I love this series and think it's criminally underrated.
Cloud gaming will show a deep divide over ISPs and those in countries with Internet issues...plus the financial costs and hidden costs of streaming it all, such hidden costs include the environment with all those servers.
Physical media all day every day for me for the most part, downloads a distant second as we saw how Scott Pilgrim disappeared for years until last week, which is bad news for people whose systems die and backups are lost.

@SmaggTheSmug On that note... it would be nice to have a new JoJo game on Switch, especially after that Stone Ocean announcement.
