Re: There Are More NES Classic Mini Accessories On The Way

RoomB31

@ThanosReXXX

the UI isn't exactly retro, save states and all... So it's not exactly doing the job 100% if you want to stay on point.

This is all a suggestion, as a means to pursue other options.
If people knew they could find all classics in one spot it would create a new customer, the same one this box is going after. People are not buying Nintendo's regular consoles primarily to play classics.

Re: There Are More NES Classic Mini Accessories On The Way

You know this is cool and all, but considering how the mini is a closed system with a limited number of games (albeit lots of gaming hours and fun!) I don't see the WANT (although I do see a need) in investing more than the base set.

I'm skipping this one in hopes that Nintendo releases an SNES mini (such love), but I kind of wish Nintendo made this thing with the possibility of buying more games from a VC eshop, oh the possibilities.... On that note, I also wished they would have released a full on retro box, that you could either buy games individually over eshop or pay a monthly subscription for all VC access.

Re: Looks Like Nintendo Has A Sense Of Humour About The Wii U's Failure

RoomB31

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I feel like there were more GC to Wii ports, but eh..
1) I dunno if TP counts because they were simultaneous released.
2) I dunno if Metroid Prime Trilogy counts because it includes 3.
3) that would leave all of the New Play Control games (6 I believe) 4) and Resident Evil 4 ( which will continue to be ported till the end of time), hmmm I cant think of any others at the moment.

What I really want and have always wanted is for Nintendo to port (upgrade etc..) it's GC games, I know it's unlikely, but the possibility of analog shoulder pads in the NX gives me hope for at least VC GC if not full on HD ports, but there is such a wealth of games on that console, it would be unfortunate for them not to bring some back.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About the Mini NES?

RoomB31

@WilliamCalley some people like authentic and legal means of playing the games, others are just big collectors. I find myself not caring about games when I can illegally download them, it's like yeah sure they are all there at my disposal, but it doesn't feel earned or real or authentic, something just feels off, that's just my opinion, you can do as you please, ROMs just don't excite me. This is why I generally don't buy digital either (unless it's an indie title).

Re: Huge Miitomo Update Promises Direct Messages, Room Customisation And Sidekick Miis

RoomB31

LIke most people are saying, this is LONG overdue, it's welcome, and hopefully releases in more countries with this update, but many many people have stopped playing, me included. I'll give it a look see when it arrives, but not sure if it will hold my attention for long.

Also yes to those wanting a better My Nintendo, it really needs to happen, also Nintendo needs to bring back the digital promotion that the wii U had for only a short period of time, allowing us to earn $ when we spent $$$.

Re: Talking Point: Ports vs. Sequels On The Nintendo Switch

RoomB31

@Aurumonado they won't disappear, But it's highly unlikely that Nintendo would dump so many AAA (regardless if they are ports or not) at launch, they've never really had more than 2 retail ready games at launch for any recent console, so I don't see them going above and beyond this, sine they would like to stretch out releases to give people time to get them all.

Re: Talking Point: Ports vs. Sequels On The Nintendo Switch

RoomB31

@yomanation It's not about speculation, good ports sell, that's just a fact. You may not want them or buy them, but they sell.

I agree, the Switch needs new games not ports to really woo people, me included, but there's nothing wrong with ports in so much as they add to the original and are not a quick cash-in.

I get the point is about launch titles, and of course if all Launch titles were just ports, that would be pretty poor, but obviously that won't be the case, although its very rare for Nintendo to have more than 2 launch titles of their own, so if they can cushion that with some ports, then why not?

Re: Talking Point: Ports vs. Sequels On The Nintendo Switch

RoomB31

@yomanation but millions of people will be, so...

I mean it's no wonder why ports are so popular on PS4 and XBONE, they make money, and as we have seen and will see, there are even ports of ports being sold at FULL retail price, and they're still selling bucketloads, its just a way of life now for consoles that are no longer backwards compatible (although MS is slowly changing that)

Re: Super Mario Run Has Been Built on Unity

RoomB31

@Spoony_Tech "They will want as many games as they can get day one."

Why does anyone think this is the mentality Nintendo should have? What we should be saying is that they need to have a strong and diverse lineup ready on day one, but "as many games as they can" is just asking for shovelware, sure sure it's inevitable, but not at launch.

Re: Nintendo Insists That Wii U Production Will Continue Beyond This Week

RoomB31

@bluedogrulez steal sales??? hardly, if someone is buying a Wii U this close to Switch or even after Switch its for one of 2 reasons,

1- they are a collector and know if they don't get it now they might have a hard time in the future,
2- Nintendo (miraculously) gave the system a much needed price drop and its people on a budget who always buy last gen consoles that are scooping it up.

Either way its not going to "steal" sales from the Switch, because eventually these people will also buy a Switch, just not at launch, but they were never going to do so in the first place.

Re: Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima Feels The 3DS Can "Continue In Its Own Form"

RoomB31

This sounds more like, "3DS still has momentum, we are releasing games on it still and it has a strong third party lineup, we don't need to kill it, it will die on its own once all companies have SWITCHED over". A more natural death, than the one the Wii U received, but it will still be laid out to pasture, but my guess is not until sometime in 2018 (at the earliest).

Re: Report Suggests Nintendo Switch Won't Be Offered With a Portable-Only Bundle at Launch

RoomB31

Why are so many people on here SHOCKED!!! at the idea of the portable being sold separately? We still are 100% certain of what the dock does, if it houses or can house more power etc...

Also, as if NO ONE has thought of this already, but if someone is going on vacation or on a business trip (as the trailer so clearly shows) there needs to be some way to charge the device WITHOUT the dock (because seriously if they don't do this then whats the point) , so a portable only version is clearly plausible and inevitable, so stop being so SHOCKED!.
