The Black and White games were the Gen 1 remake. Locking off the Pokedex to 150 was a conscious recreation of that first set.

People are jerks but I'm always fascinated that Japanese xenophobia is excused because it's polite.

in theory, games should be aiming to tell the story with/during gameplay for the most part.

Haven't played Suikoden without Murayama's involvement (I-III) but if Eiyuden's world is as expansive as that, the background ripple effect across games is part of the charm.

Rising's a curious one as a prequel/prologue as its gameplay risks, in my view, either putting people unfamiliar with Suikoden off trying Hundred Heroes or misrepresenting the Hundred Heroes' gameplay.

I liked Rising but I was treating it as a drop in and out casual experience. Doing hours back to back would have gotten old fast.

Met said NPC when playing tonight and had wondered if it was based on a real person as the character portrait seemed off. More photo-realistic somehow where the statues in the Crypt fit the game's aesthetic. Wondering no more it is.

Comparing the original trailer with the above, it looks like the step away from trying to look like Cuphead has made it a lesser version of what it already was.

Better to have been an unashamed Cuphead clone than an ashamed one methinks. At least with the former they can go "Like Cuphead? Here's more like that" cause Cuphead 2 isn't happening anytime soon.

Sorry, 2016 Ridley, Assassin's Creed was not the one to get the ball rolling. Maybe the TV shows will get it. Sonic gave it a decent go though.

Most gamers don't see the end of most games (easier to observe that with player percentage trackers on achievement/trophies on rival consoles™).

Dropping an experience cause you're not enjoying it is entirely sensible but seeing a game to the end should be normal practice generally, I feel. Not that I do that.

Personally I swore never to quit any film ever again when I managed to get to the end of a particularly lousy one a few years back so I wish I had the gaming equivalent of, um checks notes The Human Centipede.

You're mainly paying for the binding and paper quality with these things but the TMNT ones are excellent.

Enough for me to give the Transformers ones a go and might be willing to dabble with the GI Joe collections as well if I can hold my nose long enough to buy the digital versions.

Enchanted Portals' problem might be that other developers aren't tripping over themselves to take advantage of Cuphead's USP the way the industry does with others hits.

That's a shame. The DuckTales reboot is great and has a lot of love for all the previous Duck stories that have gone before, including the games, so you could take the QuackShot name off and stll tie-in to it with Donald.

@Bolt_Strike You click where you want B to go rather than control directly, and those cubes with the circles on manipulate the environment.

My experience of the game is the Xbox version when it's clearly optimised for touch screens but it works as a cheap companion to Captain Toad for those that want a similar experience (in my opinion).

@Damo Sure, I'm just surprised that there's nothing indicating that people can play the original, by whichever name, right now.

Terranigma was on my SNES RPG-to-play list along with Earthbound and Mario, and at some point convinced myself that it hadn't seen a European release either. Probably just ignorant of the localisation times or distracted by the N64.

Would be nice to pay Nintendo, Square Enix or whoever to actually play it at last. And Soul Blazer. And Illusion of Time beyond a rental copy.

Basically just make all SNES RPGs available to everyone forever.
