@Rykdrew sorry let me be clear. ROLLBACK NETCODE takes power to run. Mostly from the CPU but some from the GPU. The way it works is that basically it sets a number of predictions (about what button you'll press in what order) into place and is usually correct, if however it is NOT correct, then it quickly readjusts itself so that you experience little to no lag. Sometimes this can cost a few frames of gameplay, but 98% of the time the player only notices nearly lag free fighting.
This of corse runs worse on the switch. Simply because the switch cannot predict and readjust as quickly or correctly as say a PC. You see, the switch is old, and it's tech is even older and somewhat under clocked. I was just saying that yes of corse it runs better on steam. The switch can't keep up.
@Rykdrew wait you're telling me that a game running on a PC with a dedicated GPU using a resource heavy tool runs better then when its running on a 10 year old tiny mobile APU?
so stiff. i always find that these indie games lack animation, but I get that its hard to find a nice middle ground between good controls and smoothly animated characters.
@Maulbert they've been really good in the past, and lets' face it Pokemon may be only 1 IP but its got several different types of games under its belt. Pokemon main line games, then spin offs like "lets go", legends, mystery dungeon, conquest, Pokemon channel, pinball, Detective Pikachu, puzzle games, mobile games, TV shows, movies both live action and animated, anime, card came, figures, ect.
Thats like saying a Mario direct would be a bad idea. You have 3d Mario 2d Mario, Mario kart. Mario sports, Mario RPGs, Mario movies, ect.
IF anyone wants to hear what a single crazy fan did ( me obviously) for the first BOTW then read up. I bought BOTW standard, limited AND COLLECTORS editions day one. not to mention a switch the strat guide, all of the amiibo, a pro controller and a case (despite have one in each edition of the game)
THEN I bought the Explorers edition a year later. OH AND the Wii U version. that might sound crazy to you but I got over 100 hours in that game so it came out to less then $1 an hour of entertainment.
cool I have all those amiibo so I guess I'll get extremely slightly more use out of them lol. Seriously I only bought them to have a ton of tiny Nintendo statues so I'm happy with whatever extra stuff they end up doing.
I wonder if I'll be able to pre-order the limited edition of this game. Last time no one seemed very interested in the switch so I just walked in to my local gamestop and pre-ordered the switch and both limited editions of the game AND the amiibo. (not to mention the soft cover guide which is super rare for some reason) Now 120million units sold later, I'm thinking I'll end up paying a scalper for this game... sigh....
This series hasn't missed a shot yet. Dig 2 is one of my favorite games ever made, Dig one was great on many levels (see what I did there?) and heist was so much fun I played it 4 or 5 times in a row on different systems. Can't wait for more.
@Grumble The portability of the switch might not work for you, but its literally the main reason most people buy the system, especially in Nintendos home country of Japan. It's also great for say parents (like myself) who can play with kids at doctors offices and relatives homes. Not to mention for the kids who play in the back seat of the car or on public transportation. ( I live in NYC the train is necessary) While I'm sure there are plenty of people like you who can sit at home and play on the living room TV, there are even more people like me who don't have that kind of time much and when they do would take the time to play the more powerful systems. I think keeping it portable is really the only way to ensure a successful console. If not its just another Xbox
another company recently made one that is almost the exactly like the hori one. I have both and although the Hori one is better the other is pretty close. I forgot the name of the third party company who made it though and I am not home to check it out. still this is a nice alternative to them both.
I like that they went the whole 9 yards with the button layout unlike that other controller that recently released,(it honestly works super well for most N64 games too) but man it looks cheep. Looks more like an old pelican controller then a Nintendo first party one.
as someone who's never really been much of a COD fan (I've only played the two on Wii U) I actually AM excited that its back. Not so much for me but for the fact that it gives Switch exclusive people (or I guess Nintendo gamers in general) another option for a first person shooter series. there really hasn't been much outside of the indie scene and Doom
my most anticipated game from Square Enix in a long time. I'm a huge dragon quest fan (my first RPG was the copy of "Dragon Warrior" that came with a Nintendo power subscription back in the day.) so re-playing 3 in this style on the go is like a dream come true for me.
@Jayenkai oh you mean like a 2600 joy stick? I don't think that system sold well in Japan. Atari was mostly just popular here in the states, well NA I suppose
considering they've been ripping off Nintendo IPs for a decade now (cough sackboy kart, hotshots golf, anything with astro in it cough) as well as following Nintendo set trends (cough touchscreengaming, Motion control, HD rumble cough) you would think they WANT to be Nintendo.
Tatics Ogre is legit an incredible game. I wouldn't take the laughable review on this very site seriously at all. Most places gave the game a 9 or higher. It deserves to sell well. The best version of one of the best tactics games ever made.
So according to this site, this game is 2 points better then Tatics ogre. Where the main complaint was that it looks to old... I'm beginning to see why number scores are a bad idea
This is an awful review. It's one of the lowest scores online. I've gotten about 12 hours in and I have to say as someone who owns this game on PSP and an English patch cart on SNES, this is BY FAR the best version of the game. The number of improvements is astounding. Both to the gameplay AND the visuals. not to mention the fantastic soundtrack.
This is legit the BEST VERSION of the BEST tactics game ever made.
i got it early on ps5 almost a week ago. Definitely a better game then is described here. If you're a multi-console owner that is the version I would recommend. I'm nearly done with it and I had a blast. ( even though the amount of pop in is still crazy for a game running on an M.2 drive) I'd say 8/10 easy. Then again I gave Bayonetta3 a 10/10 so perhaps I'm to kind a reviewer.
Lets be real the fact that it sells at all without COD and only legacy FIFA in the Uk is amazing.
Seriously the new casual gamer is the 45 year old man who only plays 3 games a year and 2 of them are sports and the last is COD. We see it here in the states with Madden and NBA2k and COD (not to mention the occasional GTA5) The difference is that a ton of us across the pond see the value in things like oh I don't know GAME DESIGN, so Nintendo games sell well here. Where as in the UK (and a few other European countries) it's just a time killer , and only very few hardcore nerds pay attention close enough to realize that there are a ton of amazing experiences around to enjoy on Nintendo systems.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metroid Prime Remastered?
it was always a 10/10 now its just a 10/10 in HD with better controls. really the remaster work is great but its second to the games design.

If they want to sell to Japan the way they already have then it'll have some sort of handheld mode.

@gcunit I bought the HORI one for $12. At one point it was dirt cheep. Its the resale market that jacks the prices up.
