I'm really hoping for Chrono Trigger and ff4,5,6 remakes on switch. Not sure why they haven't ported the pixel remakes yet 🤷

I do wonder if they lose some money by not ever dropping prices to people who wait and buy the game used for 10-20 bucks less. Nintendo makes no money in that case.

@NEStalgia thanks, I'll try to get into it again at some point. I have a pretty big backlog since I didn't get a switch until early this year!

I tried to get into Xenoblade 1 a few months back, and after about 5 hours, I just wasn't into it. I felt like I was playing an MMORPG in an empty server. And the story about everything being in the back of the two giant titans seemed pretty silly to me. I thought I'd really enjoy the game, being a big RPG fan. I've beat FFVII, FFIX, Grandia, breath of the wild, and almost Immortals: Fenyx Rising this year since getting myself a switch for Christmas. I dunno, maybe I should give it another shot at some point...

@Serpenterror Bahamut lagoon would be awesome! Really hoping for Chrono Trigger too. I never thought Chrono Trigger needed a remake, but after seeing how good Live A Live looks, I think a remake in that style would be great!

I'm also holding out hope for a Star Ocean Second Story port to be released physically together with the first one that's already been released but digital only.

I picked up the original new for only 15 bucks at GameStop without having even heard of it a couple months ago. I've really enjoyed it! I took a break from it to play some other games, but having just finished FF7 (first playthrough in 20 years), I think I'll get back into this today. I'll look forward to the sequel!

I started playing Bravely Default II this week. So far it's a pretty solid classic style JRPG. certainly not on par with classics like final fantasy IX or Chrono Trigger (not yet anyway), but pretty decent so far. I've also been bouncing back and forth playing through Immortals: fenyx rising, also a fairly solid game, but not on par with breath of the wild. My backlog is growing.

Happy to say I still have this have. Haven't played it in 20 years though! Some day I'll fire it up again.

@OorWullie gotcha! You might as well go in and have a look! I like to climb to the top of the castle and see how far I can glide. One time I came down right at a shrine I hadn't found yet.

@OorWullie really curious why you haven't entered the castle? Once you have the master sword, good armor, and plenty of hearts and stamina, it's really not difficult in there. The guardians are as piece of cake. Stasis them then run up and cut their legs off and smash the hell out of them.

I hope a rom makes it online at some point.

This was one of the games I wanted to play during the N64 era, but never had a chance. Now I have it on an everdrive, but I'll be more likely to play it on my switch.

I would bet his favorite movie is "Coming to America", not the sequel "Coming 2 America"

My understanding is that sales are only slowing due to the chip shortage, the same reason Sony and Microsoft aren't selling many current gen consoles. I also expect the chip shortage will push the switch successor's launch back at least 2 years from now. No way Nintendo wants to launch a new console without enough units to meet demand.

@philwhite I wish I could dispute that, but I can't name a single good post PS2 game square game. I'm currently replaying FFIX for the first time in 20 years on my switch and really enjoying it. Back during the PS1 era square could do no wrong.

Cloud gaming is a big no for me.

I had no interest in the Kongos at the time, or even now. I remember being disappointed they weren't releasing something more like a direct sequel to Donkey Kong Country.

That would be great. I've been trying to play wind waker, but I just never end up playing anything on my TV anymore since getting a switch.

Haven't lost a cartridge, but my ex girlfriend did steal all my DS cartridges 😢

@RubyCarbuncle that makes no sense to me, if that were harmful to the battery life, then wouldn't playing docked also harm the battery?

These things are dumb. A Gameboy pocket and an everdrive cartridge would be money better spent f you want a little black and white non backlit handheld.

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed early 2023? That's less than a year off. Not a chance! There are still chip shortages, and the switch is still selling like hot cakes. Nintendo this year said switch was only halfway through its lifespan. 2025 maybe, assuming Russia doesn't nuke the world before then.

Haven't played FFVI in like 20 years, this makes me tempted to play it again. I wonder if square will bring it to switch 🤔

Only 6% for suikoden II? That game was amazing, one of the games I most regret selling.

@KingMike I remember that game! I think I had it on my windows 3.1 machine.

I started playing it at the beginning of January, still playing it, have suffering like 180 hours in it, still fun. Surely one of the best games ever. Looking forward to the sequel, I'm sure it will be with the wait.

@MightyKrypto you're on a website called Nintendo Life trying to say that Nintendo is everyone's last choice for gaming. Do you realize how ridiculous that is? I'm a PC and console gamer, and I own every Nintendo console (handhelds excluded), the most recent playstation ice purchased are PS2, and just recent Xbox is a 360.

@Rosalinho I agree, what are these people talking about? Nothing wrong with Super Mario 64 controls. I even beat the game on DS using that funny thumb pad thing.

I thought the demo was really fun. Kirby translates to 3d better than I would have expected. I'll pick it up at some point, but I'm not paying 60 bucks!

Twilight princess is one of my favorites, I just don't get not liking it. I think my top 3 are BotW, Twilight princess, and Wind Waker, in that order.

@SpaceboyScreams that's only $2.50 a month extra. You can't buy anything for $2.50 these days. I already have every N64 game on a flash cart that I can play on a real N64, but I figured it was worth 50 bucks to have a bunch of other games to play handheld on my switch. Not sure I'll renew next year, but it's hard to argue that it's a rip off.

You guys complaining about the price are funny. It's like 2 bucks a month on top of the regular switch online.

@Fizza I'm guessing you don't need a good gaming PC to run it. Any somewhat modern PC should be able to run it.
