@Dom_31 I saw a video recently about why Legos are so expensive. Basically the price per piece has actually remained surprisingly stable for decades, the sets have just become more complex with way more pieces!
@LadyCharlie not much point in emulating it though, as at that point, you might as well just play the superior DOS version. You should be able to play it in browser on archive.org . Playing it on an actual SNES is the whole point of this version. By the way, it's using a custom chip, so most likely no emulators will be able to run it without a patch.
@sevex yeah, I'm not sure why companies use such small text these days. It's partly why I like to play handheld now because even with a 50 inch TV, when I'm sitting across the room on the couch, it's hard to read the text.
Really annoying the way Square handled this. First they make it a limited release, and everyone loses their ***** trying to get a copy, some hugely overpaying on ebay, then they do an Asian switch only physical release, and many of us order a copy from Play Asia, then like a year later they say ***** it, and do another release with different packaging. Why didn't they just do a wide release in the first place?? How many people bought the digital version when they really wanted a physical copy? How many people got ripped off on ebay?
So excited to play this! I recently discovered the series and played 8 and 9 on switch, really enjoyed them despite the performance issues. I hear this runs better than those 2. Can't wait to pick it up!
@Grandiajet took a little longer for Ys IX to hook me in, but ended up loving it. How many hours did you give it? Great game, although in sime of the more hectic fights, the performance is really just unacceptable. I enjoyed everything else about the game enough to power through the performance issues though.
I'd be happy enough with a straight port available physically, but HD2D would be awesome. Full 3D could be good too if done well. If it's not turn based, we riot!
Nice, my physical copy is finally supposed to be here Friday. I'm playing Ys IX right now, so maybe the game will be fixed by the time I'm ready to play it!
I guess I'm in the minority, as I love the have. I beat the game last year at about 195 hours, which I clicked up really quickly, in only like 10 weeks, them I put the game aside, and view I play it a little here and there between other games, and I'm now up to 235 hours with tons left to do. I probably be working on it for a couple more years.
It's pretty shameful. So much for the Nintendo Seal of Quality! The easy workaround is to just buy physical games. They're generally at least real games!
@kingbk can't imagine they'll have Miamoto on the staff more than another 10 years or so (if that), he's 70, gotta think he'll want to retire at some point! I hope they can keep up the quality without him.
@DioBrando is there even anyone left at Rare that made them great? Buying them back would get Nintendo what? Perfect dark and banjo? Probably not worth the cost.
You think a switch cartridge slot adds a lot to the cost of producing a switch? It's basically a proprietary SD card slot. I promise you it's inexpensive.
@Sisilly_G hmm, yeah, all valid points. I've never emulated GameCube, so wasn't sure if playing on real hardware is better. I know N64 emulation can be janky.
@YoshiFlutterJump why would they do it for PC? Switch or its successor would be the obvious choice for an official emulator, which by the way, they've done before, it's called virtual console.
It's really a shame what rockstar did with these games. Really, it's a shame what most of the industry is doing with basically eliminating play testers and releasing unfinished games. Companies need to follow Nintendo's example and start releasing finished games that work again.
@LikelySatan I only just got a 3ds this month and have played a few levels. So far, I like World better. 4 player co-op, cat Mario, 5 playable characters.
@FishyS Mario has never hit the blocks with his head, he's always raised his fist when he jumps. I even remember reading this in a Nintendo power back in the N64 era. Not sure why they have him raise his fist and then punch with the other now.
Taking a break at 125 hours and main story completed (plus all light roots and towers) I'll come back to it after I play Some other stuff. Playing FF6 pixel remaster now.
I duped 200 diamonds and a few dozen other materials, plus some Zonai devices. I'm 80+ hours into the game with tons left to do, so I don't feel bad about it. I don't want to play the game for 400 hours, which I think you'd have to without chatting a little if you wanted to Jax it your batteries, could a house, upgrade armors, finish all the quests, etc. I enjoy mining and collecting stuff, but I don't want to do it for 200 hours. It hasn't detected from the experience for me.
I haven't turned the game off once since I first turned it on, and I've been in airplane mode, so it hasn't even tried to update.
Sales may be slowing down, but it still sold more units in the 6th year than Wii U sold in total, and only a bit short of lifetime GameCube sales that's pretty incredible.

Sony needs to stop buying up studios. They can't keep the studios they own open.

@nin10doom right. How about 4 player Goldeneye with Rockets 😂
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Frame Rate Is "Even Worse" Than Link's Awakening
30fps is hardly bad.

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Physical Edition Getting Wide Retail Release
@sevex There IS a "pixel" font option that looks more apropriate.

Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System
@Patendo well, Nintendo could keep selling the ones they've already done, and they still have many games that haven't been remastered.
Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System
If it doesn't have a backwards compatible cartridge slot, I'll be sitting it out at least a few years.

@Chaotic_Neutral it's not a kid game, it's for everyone. There is a difference.
