@its_luke_c it's a nice option for those who want to experience the games, but don't have the time or patience to sit through a million random encounters. I just finished FF8 tonight, and towards the end, I got fed up with the game and turned off encounters, used the battle booster doohickey, and blew through the rest of the game. I wouldn't have finished the game otherwise. FF9 on the other hand, I only used fast forward, because it's a great game.

Rewards you have to print yourself are about as bogus as the cracker Jack "prizes" of the last 20 years or so. I'm old enough to remember when Nintendo used to send us free games as rewards.

Man, I hope so, that would mean I'd have every single classic Final Fantasy game on one system! Haven't played tactics in at least 20 years!

I'm half expecting a big surprise like Zelda as a playdate character for co-op.

If you want to play Android games, why wouldn't you just buy a controller for the Android device you already own?

For those that missed out on ordering a physical copy, I'll be shocked if there's not an Asian release at some point that's readily available online. We got no physical Chrono Cross release, so I just ordered the Asian version, same with Grandia - only a limited run edition, I got the Asian one with better box art. Final fantasy 7 and 8? Yep, I got the Asian release.

@Dragmire because they make more money on digital versions, and they never hit the used game market. That's my guess anyway.

I was pissed about it selling out with basically no warning, but then said screw it and sprung for the special edition. It sold out very shortly after, so I must have got one of the last ones. Pretty excited to get it.

@RushDawg well, I better get a copy! Guessing there will be physical versions available from Asia too, which usually have English, worst case scenario.

To those saying it already sold out, what makes you say that? I joined the waiting list and got this message:

"We’ll be sure to contact you when this item is made available."

Surely that means I'll get a chance to buy it? They haven't even printed them yet, so why wouldn't they print enough to sell to those who join the wait list? I'll be seriously pissed if I can't buy a physical copy, as I already have FF7,8,9,10,12 as physical copies on switch.

@EarthboundBenjy It lets you sign up for a waiting list, so I'm guessing you'll still be able to get it.

@eltomo just get the Asian physical release that came out this year, it has English. It's all over eBay, and much cheaper than the limited run version. Plus, the box art is way nicer than the limited run box art. I just got it, but I don't think I'll open it since I already have the download version.

@Ralizah Grandia 1 has one of the finest turn based battle systems of any RPG. One of my all time favorite games. Make sure to use your magic as much as possible, as that's what levels it up, unlike in some RPGs where you conserve your mp in case you run into a boss fight, Grandia always had a save point before a boss to recover at.

@invictus4000 what's trash about it? I'm playing it right now and have noticed 0 issues with the port. I did notice a couple minor issues with the Grandia 1 port, but not enough to really detract from the experience. I love these games so much, I just got a physical copy from Asia even though I had the download version already.

Never watched the show much or played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Blue, but for some reason this still makes me a little sad 🤷😂

I've been holding out hope for these! Really hoping for a physical release on one or two cartridges, even if it needs to be imported. After getting these, I'd have every final fantasy from 1-12 on switch (11 doesn't count)

I just found out about this game. Definitely going to try it out in my everdrive as I love Diddy Kong racing.

I'm super excited for this. I had 1, 2, and 3 on NES (I had an extensive collection), but I never played that far into any of them. It wasn't till this year that I finally played all the way through a dragon quest game - 11 on switch, which I loved!

Man, I remember being blown away by the graphics in prime. What a great game. I still have 1 and 2, I never really got into 2 though back then. I'd love to play them again, but I'm strictly a switch gamer these days. Can't beat bringing the game with you to the toilet or to bed.

I've done most (or all?) of the quests, all but 3 shrines. Still have many Korok seeds left, and some other stuff to do. 140+ hours! One of my all time favorite games for sure! I'll have to dust it off and get back into practice before TotK comes out.

@LikelySatan cruisin' USA was great back in the day! Still fun to play I've in a while, even if it's just nostalgia at this point.

@Dakotastomp alright then. Seems like if you want to play a kart game, you might as well just play Mario kart. What's the attraction for you? Genuinely interested, not trolling. The only thing that interests me about the game at all is Ren and Stimpy.

Does anyone really care about this game?

I've stalled out in the original about 5 hours in because I got sidelined by DQ11. I plan to revisit it at some point. I like the graphical style, some of the dialogue definitely drags though, and it would be nice to be able to speed up combat like you can in DQ11 and the FF ports, etc.

@Serpenterror lame. If they're going to port stuff, why don't they pott stuff we actually want? The list is huge. Chrono Trigger, FF1-6, FF Tactics, Bahamut Lagoon Valkyrie Profile, dragon quest 8, I could go on and on. Dammit Square.

@KingMike I got my copy new at Toys r Us for like 20 bucks. They had a few, I should have bought them all! Worse yet, I sold mine on eBay for $160 years ago, and months later the buyer cancelled the payment and I had to pay PayPal back! 😭

@Highlar exactly! I loved filling the fortress with characters. Unlike other RPGs with many playable characters (looking at you Chrono cross) where you recruit a character and then never see them again unless you actually use them.

So excited about this! I hope we get a physical release. Any news on that?

I've played pilot wings recently. It's still pretty fun.

I have them both on GameCube, but it would be way easier for me to replay them handheld on switch.

@CharlieGirl it's easier for Microsoft to do since they've been using the same size discs on all their systems. Nintendo on the other hand...

I plan to pick this up at some point. I'll buy a new copy to help the sales numbers. Hopefully this will sell quite a few more copies in the next few months and encourage square to bring use nuts stuff like this. Still hoping for a Chrono Trigger remake. A HD 2d sequel would be amazing too.

Also holding out hope for star Ocean 1 and 2 in a physical collection.
