I went to one midnight release, CoD MW2. I used to preorder all the time, when amazon had the 20% off. Now I wait for sales. Backlog allows me to wait.

I don't know what was said, the environment people had to work or if people are blowing things out of proportion. Some people could be overly sensitive and easily offended, there could be actual offenses being perpetrated. Til an unbiased third party audit takes place, I'm gonna stay neutral.

And THIS is where the steamdeck will step up and hurt the switch. Why get the switch version, when you can get it on the steamdeck, especially if it runs better.

@smithyo I was thinking the same. It has to a "labor of love" kind of thing. Releasing on a niche platform, then given away for free. But then i thought maybe it's just a way to get the name and experience out there, show co. what they can do, for prospective employers, etc.

@ArcticEcho yeesh, that bad? I figured a pokemon game, similar to xenoblade would be nice. Walk around in third person, when you encounter an enemy, you control your pokemon with their powers mapped to the face buttons and rolls/maneuvers mapped to the shoulders. Level up, chose which powers to get or upgrade, etc., open world, yadda yadda.

So, how do more recent pokemon games play? Turn based?

The time crisis series was my jam! The pedal to peek out of cover, changed everything. Can't forget silent scope. Sniping felt fun.

Has there been studies, research and polls taken, internally, that tells these execs that older games won't sell? Starfox, fzero, rogue squadron, tons more that could do with a re-release or remaster/make, would sell like...whatever sells really well. A switch! And not on nso.

@Not_Soos don't know if you're being facetious, but "emulating a game on another console" is fine and legal, if you own the products. Some do, some don't. "Piracy" would be if someone took the roms and profited off them, either through resale or ad revenue from a roms site.

Ie hades, hollow knight, disco elysium, etc. Also other games not available on the switch, natively, control, kingdom hearts, etc. Or not available on the switch at all, GoW, days gone, gta v.

Has there been new releases on those eshops? Are people upset that the ability to REDOWNLOAD games won't be an option? Have people been waiting for a sale, for that one game? I imagine the overhead to keep these stores and servers operating, isn't cheap. But Nintendo is a big corpo with vast sums of money.

@burninmylight first paragraph, fine, 3+hrs of football, where it's still 7-11mins of actual game time.

Second paragraph, including playoffs, superbowl and byes, its only 4 months of "work". With one game a week, for 7-11mins. With 3 practices a week, with two of them non-contact, due to nflpa. Most of the weight room and practices is to stay healthy and knowledgeable.

Third paragraph, league total revenue doesn't affect the player minimum. Which is $660k, not counting incentives, bonuses, etc. So that special teams player, out there for punts and kickoffs and field goals, gets $660k at least.

I'm not trying to negate what these athletes do. I'm just saying, "they're grown men, playing a child's game, getting a kings ransom" -lorenzo neal
