Disclosure notice: In the time since the publication of this article, Nintendo Life staffer Kate Gray has contributed writing to Moonstone Island. She has had no involvement in our coverage since joining the project, and we won't be reviewing the game.
As revealed in the very cool and very unmissable Nintendo Life Indie Spotlight, Moonstone Island is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2023.
With beautiful pixel-art graphics that recall Stardew Valley, Littlewood and various Zelda games, plus 120 islands to explore, and a deckbuilding monster-fighting mechanic to keep you busy, there's a lot to like about this charming little game.
Hopefully we won't have too long to wait before getting this upcoming indie gem in our mitts!
You can read more about Moonstone Island here, in our exclusive reveal from earlier this year.

"..minish cap-like.."
New genre confirmed
Merge Stardew Valley with Rune Factory and you get this. There's nothing Minish Cap about this game.
This looks lovely.
I dig the look of this. Something to keep an eye on.
@Royalblues haven’t yet formed an opinion on flightless birds. Currently leaning slightly in the “pro” camp but it could still go either way. Like yeah, they’re cool from an evolution-type standpoint but I also get why some people think they’re smug and super into themselves.
Lovely art style!
@Royalblues no just another one of those countless times in a year where a game is compared to a Zelda or Metroid game and ends up being nowhere near as good or comparable.
Went to the Eshop to place it on my wishlist while watching the trailer and couldn't find it. Then Alex said next year. Womp womp.
