Re: Video: Masahiro Sakurai Talks About Frame Rates In Games

Fps over resolution, seems to be the way most games are going. Especially if you look towards the pc side of gaming. Most gpus and monitors favor higher framerates than resolution. A 1080p monitor/gpu pushing 165hz+ is more preferable than a 4k60hz, more so in the competitive realm.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Investigates Switch's Lowest Resolution Games

In a new Super Nintendo Switch, do people want 4k gaming in handheld mode or docked? What I definitely want from the new hardware, besides the regular updates, is what the other consoles have, the ability to play last gen games at a better resolution and framerate. It would be bad pr if the new console left last gen games in the dust.

@sketchturner with the steam deck, if you have the right settings/games, the battery life can last. Ie hades with high graphics, can last 4hrs+. But if you're playing GoW, expect somewhere less than 2hrs. As with the switch-lite, you're not really playing graphic intensive heavy games, like hzd or spiderman, etc. So if you play similar style games on the deck, as you would the switch(hollow knight on the switch, probably has the same amount of playable time, on the deck), I'm sure the battery can last.

No, time just flies. To think this corona started about two years ago. A lot of games have released, all things considered, and here were are, so close to the "holiday season". July is almost over, midnight fight Express will be here before we know it. Then Halloween candies, bayonetta and p5r; then GoW Rag and Thanksgiving; Christmas jingles and protocols. I guess it is fun.

Re: Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Heading For Switch Via The Cloud

"What's disheartening here is that the visuals for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous don't seem to be far beyond the Switch's capabilities.."
But sometimes it's the gameplay, as much as the graphics. Just because blasphemous or dead cells or enter the gungeon have bit graphics, doesn't mean they would fair well on the snes or sega systems. But I digress, fcuk cloud gaming as the sole option.

@Aiodensghost "spoiled"? I paid my dues. I rolled with the nes, snes, ps, ps2, xb, xb360, xbo, ps4, ps5/xbsx. Ive mowed many lawns and recycled many cans, for my games and consoles. Now that Im able to have a stable income/job, and the switch being my first ever portable, better believe I'm going to optimize my use, wherever/whenever.

Re: Video: Why You Should Play The Persona Series On Switch

@Royalblues for me, the switch being my first portable handheld, I didnt really have that "camaraderie" that the 3ds users had with each other. I think the novelty of playing triple A games, anywhere, wore off after a few years. But I still bring it with me to the dmv, doctors waiting rooms, work, etc.
It may not be the first thing I bust out, as I've started to enjoy reading again, but I still play it on a regular. Mainly single player games, so the attraction of others isn't really there for me.
Me: If I wanted to socialize, I surely wouldnt have brought my switch and a plethora of singleplayer games.

@Royalblues "That's the thing that stump's me. How is P5 suitable for handheld play in short bursts?

The game is over 100 hours long. Often times you'll find yourself in play sessions that last longer than the Switch's battery life."

I've put 27+hrs into the witcher iii, on switch, than other consoles(xbo 12hrs), with better graphics. The portability allows you to game when/where you normally wouldn't. Allowing for extra time/play. But it's all subjective.

@dil_power I read an article, which I agree with, that stated the switch might suffer some losses to the steamdeck. Like you and the article alluded to, the steamdeck will get third party games sooner and cheaper. I know a lot of people won't shell out $400+ for another gaming handheld, but those that do, will use the switch primarily for exclusives, and won't be asking "will this come to the switch?".

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Is Nintendo's First Mobile Game To Pass $1 Billion In Spending

PhhhCough

Man, and here I thought "gamepass" or "$70 a game" was gonna be the downfall of traditional consoles and gaming, but I was wrong. It looks like it'll be these "gacha" style of gaming, from pokemon go, to this, to genshin impact. Why spend the time, money and effort to make another metroid dread, and make $180m over however long, or the $1B in as much time, if not less.
But, and this is a big ol' but, if the games are in quality like genshin or warframe, then who knows. Might be a good future😬
