Re: The Nintendo Network and eShop Are Back to Life After a Festive Mishap

@JHDK Yeah I'm with you, it's nowhere close to the ideal greeting for newcomers. But again when you have sites such as Steam crash during their mega sales, it's hard to believe Nintendo could have outclassed them. In steam's case they have the benefit of choosing the date the sale goes live, where as Nintnedo has to plan for a date they are not in control of. Either way I doubt this will have any affect on how the newcomers view Nintendo, especially considering people expect this to happen when they open and set up their kid's Switch a day ahead of time. A month from now people won't even remember this happened.

@JHDK To be fair the way you worded your post does warrant those responses. The keyword here is "managed" which implies they somehow were able to mess up a seemingly simple task. But in reality this happens literally everywhere digital shopping takes place. So this isn't a situation that's standing out from the norm of the industry, nor will it have any impact moving forward.

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months

@rjejr Nope Gator is still around this was from 5 days ago:

"Glad Nintendo's brand is relevant again, even if it's in a capacity that doesn't necessarily resonate with me. Have been in (temporary) possession of a Switch the last month or so and it's pretty cool I guess. Odyssey is nice, even if it's made me want to revisit 3D World and Galaxy 2 instead. Still have no desire to go out and buy one for myself though.
"Speaking of PS4, Sony's console has hit the 5.5 million unit marker in Japan. The system has been available since February 2014, while the Switch doesn't even have a full year under its belt yet. At this rate, Switch's Japanese install base could overtake PS4's in 2018."
I find this kind of stuff just silly. You can't compare Switch to PS4/XB1 when things are in favor for Switch, yet turn around and say "well, Switch is just a portable" when things are not in favor of Switch. It's either a direct competitor to those consoles or it's not."

This is the difference in culture between the Wii U and the Switch. With the Wii U this game may have been openly received by the player base. But with the Switch you see games like DOOM on the console and these type of games just feel empty.

@Paraka You misunderstood me. We will return that's correct, but right now we aren't thirsty anymore. When we feel like playing a platformer I'm sure a lot of people will pick it up. But after playing Odyysey some people just need a break from that gameplay. Nothing against this game in particular, it's just Nintendo got their game out first. Oh and it just happens the game Nintendo got out is in the running for GOTY haha.
