@tanookisuit And what exactly is your response to those who wanted to download Rocket League aka the second most bought game on the Eshop aka a digital only game.
@JHDK Yeah I'm with you, it's nowhere close to the ideal greeting for newcomers. But again when you have sites such as Steam crash during their mega sales, it's hard to believe Nintendo could have outclassed them. In steam's case they have the benefit of choosing the date the sale goes live, where as Nintnedo has to plan for a date they are not in control of. Either way I doubt this will have any affect on how the newcomers view Nintendo, especially considering people expect this to happen when they open and set up their kid's Switch a day ahead of time. A month from now people won't even remember this happened.
@JHDK To be fair the way you worded your post does warrant those responses. The keyword here is "managed" which implies they somehow were able to mess up a seemingly simple task. But in reality this happens literally everywhere digital shopping takes place. So this isn't a situation that's standing out from the norm of the industry, nor will it have any impact moving forward.
@JaxonH If anything atleast we have a comparable game in DOOM to atleast have some sort of expectations. Rather than just going in blindly with new Devs.
@rjejr Nope Gator is still around this was from 5 days ago:
"Glad Nintendo's brand is relevant again, even if it's in a capacity that doesn't necessarily resonate with me. Have been in (temporary) possession of a Switch the last month or so and it's pretty cool I guess. Odyssey is nice, even if it's made me want to revisit 3D World and Galaxy 2 instead. Still have no desire to go out and buy one for myself though. "Speaking of PS4, Sony's console has hit the 5.5 million unit marker in Japan. The system has been available since February 2014, while the Switch doesn't even have a full year under its belt yet. At this rate, Switch's Japanese install base could overtake PS4's in 2018." I find this kind of stuff just silly. You can't compare Switch to PS4/XB1 when things are in favor for Switch, yet turn around and say "well, Switch is just a portable" when things are not in favor of Switch. It's either a direct competitor to those consoles or it's not."
@fungusar Thanks for the correction, I'm shocked to see a game of this level of quality come from an indie. I guess it goes to show indies are capable of making first person games of extreme quality.
More Indie third party support, it's nice to see more filler that will eliminate any possible droughts. I also just noticed we have a new staff member here, so I have to say welcome @Dom to the community!
@QwertyQwerty Yeah I get your point, but saying "thanks 2K for also allowing us to play this crap game" is depressing haha. They got it right with NBA2k, but what's the point of all the WWE features if the game barely runs.
@QwertyQwerty From everything I've seen the game is actually crap (Which is on par with past iterations of the game). 2K deserves zero props for this trainwreck of a release. If that's what people want, to each their own I guess.
This is the difference in culture between the Wii U and the Switch. With the Wii U this game may have been openly received by the player base. But with the Switch you see games like DOOM on the console and these type of games just feel empty.
@shani To be more exact they could run a deficit for 38 years before they went out of business as of 2014. How long could they last now with an extra 134 bil Yen.........
@Paraka You misunderstood me. We will return that's correct, but right now we aren't thirsty anymore. When we feel like playing a platformer I'm sure a lot of people will pick it up. But after playing Odyysey some people just need a break from that gameplay. Nothing against this game in particular, it's just Nintendo got their game out first. Oh and it just happens the game Nintendo got out is in the running for GOTY haha.
@Paraka Imagine being thirsty and ordering lemonade from a stand. It's been 30 minutes and you're still waiting, so you walk across the street and get one from another stand. Will you want lemonade again in the future of course, but do you still want that lemonade from the first stand? Nope.
@ShadJV It's really not worth it. You'll just get it, be giddy you have it on the Switch for 15 minutes, then realize "oh wait this is the game I already own"
@MrGawain I mean Skyrim is number 2 on the Eshop right now. That might just be based on the average age of people downloading games, but Marvel isn't even on the best seller list.

Re: Review: Brawlout (Switch eShop)
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I heard it takes awhile to unlock those characters, so I wouldn't bet on using them quickly without grinding.

We'll miss you Thomas! Thanks for the dedication and detail you put into your work!
Re: Plan The Ultimate Portable Heist As Payday 2 Steals A February Release Date
Apparently, the Devs are TERRIBLE in terms of supporting their games. So I'll take a hard pass on this one.

Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone
@gatorboi352 Do you see yourself upgrading to the S anytime soon? Or is that more of a ehhhhh I don't really need it scenario.

"WWE 2K18"
Everything else seems decent enough for the week. I'm interested in seeing the response to floor kids in particular.

@gatorboi352 Welcome to the fun side
Re: Nintendo Switch Ends 2017 On A High With 2.5 Million Units Sold In Japan Alone

@Muddy_4_Ever Can you give me an idea of what you might mean? Are you suggesting something like paid buffs?
Re: Review: Red Game Without a Great Name (Switch eShop)
@OorWullie @1UP_MARIO Yeah let's just end it there before someone gets offered a record deal.
Re: Review: Red Game Without a Great Name (Switch eShop)
@1UP_MARIO Yep, turned out to be a lame game, such a shame.

@Angelic_Lapras_King I think you can be confident a Launch Day trailer will be uploaded in due time.

@Supadav03 Glad to hear some parents are thinking ahead of time.
Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Coming To Switch With amiibo Support
@Grandpa_Pixel It's honestly rather shocking after we got snubbed earlier this year. But this might be the start of a great partnership going forward.
Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Coming To Switch With amiibo Support
You have to give it to Capcom, they came through with the goods. Continued third party support is always welcome!
Re: Random: Of All the Games, Nintendo Uses Milking in 1-2-Switch to Promote Festive Gaming
@dimi "Nintendo is still milking the success of Wii"
Where have you been these last couple years?

Nintendo still doing EA's job for them

@Switch_will_fail Nah it's biggest sin was not being able to run with ease on the most powerful console ever created.
