@thesilverbrick The question is "why" though. I mean he's clearly a Nintendo fan, I don't see why he could be so hung up on the Wii U that he feels he needs to do this. Everyone here is a Nintendo fan, and I assume 90% of us have purchased and played the Wii U while enjoying it. But that time has come and gone months ago, so why not just join us in supporting Nintendo's next phase?

@SLIGEACH_EIRE A lot of people haven't moved on from Wii U. And there's still new Shovelware* coming out for it.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Not sure how likely that is, it's not like it has to match the release date of other consoles. It's a port they can take all the time they need theoretically. They might want to get it out during the holidays at all costs, but tbh people are buying DOOM with or without the holiday rush.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Maybe they could have done more, maybe they couldn't. But you're comparing a game that released in 2011 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 to an AAA FPS that came out in 2016. I for one see no reason to doubt they did what they could though.

@Not_Soos I suppose you could, but it would be a very tough sell. Whether it be the frame rate issues on the other consoles, or multiple delays. There's just something that reeks of incompetence on their part, and they single handedly killed all hype even remotely associated with their game. When you're an Indie you HAVE to be efficient, if I want inefficiency I can go to any other major game company. The problem is the major companies aren't begging for us to fund their games are they.

There's a good and bad side to Indies. Shovel Knight is on one side and Yooka-Laylee is on another.

Nintendo needs to stop playing around and get the rewards system where we all know it needs to be. I do think, however, this isn't happening until the online launches.

Depending on how well DOOM and Wolfenstein run on the Switch. Bethesda should be the company every other Switch port is compared to. In terms of quality and the date the game was released on other consoles.

I just want to let everyone know we're getting conflicting reports on what the framerate is. We have atleast one report of it being 60 FPS but for now I would assume it's going to be 30 FPS.

@Kisame83 Fair points, but if we look at Switch sales that's clearly not a problem. The switch is flying off the shelves around the world, and is the fastest selling console in Nintendo history. So I don't think lack of apps has really affected sales in a way where you say "dang this really needs to get out Adap".

On the other hand, if you want to come at it with the angle of "keeping people who already bought the switch interested/using it". I can see that aspect of it slightly more than your argument.

@dkxcalibur @JasmineDragon Reading this response, it definitely seems like the prices might have killed it off. It's difficult to sell people on ignoring the convience of shopping online, when you can't even match the prices found there. In my opinion it would take a new owner, and a change of culture in order for ToysRUs to regain their footing.

@pandarino I do as well, I just think it can be put further back on the priority list.

@holygeez03 Yes, I do that people will say that. People said that with the Wii U. I have no doubt some grandparents will take a look at the Switch and just think it's another iPad.

@pandarino If it's not necessary, then it is unnecessary. Which means you're saying we should add a bunch of "unnecessary" apps to the switch. In that case, I say what's the rush. The apps clearly aren't vital to the Switch AT THIS TIME.

@JasmineDragon I believe you said you're the mother to a daughter in the past. From a parents perspective, what's your opinion on buying toys from them? Is it a place that would come to mind immediately when you're thinking about buying something for her? Or is it more of a place you can get a quick birthday gift for a child's birthday party?

@pandarino Just because something has an abundance of options does not mean every option is necessary.

@MegaVel91 I do care ToysRUs was a huge part of my childhood. But it's a failing business currently, no use trying to barely keep it open. I hope someone buys it and restores it though.

@Mogster You're acting like I call the shots at Nintendo. It's just my opinion and in the long run any opinion really doesn't matter to Nintendo. They will still go with the plan they have in place regardless of what we say. So I don't know why you're trying to appeal to me.

@Mogster I'm not downplaying anything. All i'm saying is I want the Switch to be known as a gaming tablet, not a tablet that does gaming. Simple. If you disagree, you disagree.

I read an article a couple years back saying Nintendo could run a deficit for 38 years before dying. Looks like we need up that to 48 years. Absolutely swimming in cash right now.

@Mogster I've now been accused of being a "raging fanboy of Nintendo" and "hating" Nintendo very interesting. I don't see how wanting to put an emphasis on gaming, when we're talking about a gaming tablet is bad. Look at Playstation with Vue, less focus on gaming more focus on multimedia. I personally want Nintendo to stay focused on creating the best gaming experience, then lets expand.

@Mogster It's a GAMING tablet. The focus should be on games not apps.

@dres Due to the way the Switch "looks" it can easily be confused with an iPad or Galaxy Tablet. The last thing you want parents to say is "we don't need another tablet" when their kids ask for a Switch. I'm just saying you need to keep the focus on gaming, rather than multimedia capabilities.

In the days of digital gaming and businesses such as Amazon, ToysRUs simply isn't what people need anymore. People don't buy kids toys, they buy kids apps. ToysRUs actually has higher prices than other stores when it comes to toys, it's a recipe for disaster. Not sure why they don't just close up.

@holygeez03 No, you can't watch YouTube that's one of the apps that would be more useful. Anyways the Switch is already similar enough to a tablet. Nintendo is marketing a gaming a console, you don't want that to be blurred in with tablets by adding apps. Yes, some apps are needed but it won't take much to confuse people.

@holygeez03 I'll give you the wifi and maybe..........game review. But game hints can be found on YouTube, and everything else seems like a one time type of thing in my opinion. When you factor in access to smartphones and tablets, it might not happen at all.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I agree the Wii U browser was handy in some situations, but there are other apps that would be more useful in my opinion.

@gatorboi352 No, I really don't care if others have a different opinion. However, in your case, you choose to spin every bit of extremely good news in a negative light. Everything has some sort of negative connotation in your mind. And honestly I still wouldn't care if this was IGN or Kotaku, but this is a site specifically Nintendo themed. Where the users obviously enjoy Nintendo's games/consoles, and by specifically coming here to tell us how crappy the company we like is you're trolling simple. @okeribok So we're talking about loading screens on one game out of how many? How about we look to Lego Marvel and it's open world gameplay.

Pretty dissapointed in the effort put into this game. Lego has always been a source of quality when it comes to games, it's pretty surprising to see mistakes like these coming from them. With that being said even if these mistakes didn't exist, it would never challenge Minecraft.

@DTFaux Fair enough but I'm wary of "making things an issue". There's a reason sayings like "making a mountain out of a mole hill" exist. Maybe something is made a way bigger problem than it ever was. Again I'm not familiar with the smash competitive community, but I see zero of talk of woman players "asking for more inclusiveness when it comes to women in leadership". And if that is something that's been asked for, it makes the decision to turn it down even more baffling. I'm sure you can see why people might question her intentions.

@greengecko007 This so much this. The best people for the job should be picked no matter what. The issue should always be with the effort used to find these people. Not who was picked or who wasn't.

@DTFaux The whole "if no one else will I will" mindset is negated by the fact her list was not created until after the fact, leads me to believe she really didn't care that much. Again hasn't the committee always been heavily compromised of men? Why would she think now it suddenly has a high count of women? And if she didn't think it would why not say "No, thank you but here's a list of people that might fit perfectly".

@Sciqueen I think the "flak" stems from people interpreting her actions as suddenly making a big deal out of something she obviously didn't care much for before. I don't know much about the smash competitive leadership, but I assume it's been largely men for years. Which leads me to wonder why she felt she shouldn't join in the first place, if the levels of woman players are on it were few.
