Objectively speaking, yes that’s pretty good adoption rate for a service launch less than 5 months old from a company that never charged until now.
If you assume at most half of them are family account users, it’s also still a lot of money to make from doing almost nothing.
Even if you do not like the service at all, to say the numbers are low and the revenue is a failure is actual ignorance. It’s like saying PS4’s online community is crippled because less than a third of their users pay for PS Plus.
@ClampedDownHard @OorWullie It took about 12 hours, but that's besides the point. The backend asn't just about further improving some of the anti-hacks (the bypass was preexisting because of Nvidia flaws not already covered and another point is all they did was find the keys, the average user can't actually hack anything with what they found and you still need tools), it's an entire restructure for the backend to support further features and OS updates, as well as to prepare the OS for eventual revisions, hopefully on Nvidia tech that isn't riddled with holes.
@GrailUK Anti-cheat was enabled months ago and most of the original hackers were banned already.
This firmware update is clearly mostly for Asia. The addition of that language support is pretty huge considering the Switch launched with NONE of them in those regions for more than a year now.
Anyone can make these wax seal invitations all you need is wax, candles, a lighter, self-hardening clay, two gemstones, a golden chalice, the forbidden pendant of Ga'rash, four Triforce shards, and a complete in box Nintendo Virtual Boy system.
If Nintendo has found something in LABO's sales that convinced them that they should keep it alive, then there were results. They clearly weren't the results they wanted, but they were results that exceed a notion that "virtually no one wants this" because whoever thinks that are mostly thinking within their own bubble and have no actual awareness of how a company can handle multiple projects.
@Madder128 Literally all furukawa said is "we'll prepare for the future when it comes" and "hey we're making more phone games as additional revenue" and you're acting like he's literally throwing away the whole console thing immediately.
The statement here is in regards to a question on how Nintendo would survive a changing future as the market evolves and whether this means its innovations would be restricted to consoles. It's not Furukawa confirming that some time in the future they could move away from consoles, just that if such a future forced its hand, it would be necessary to. And it's entirely separate from the mobile answer, which is just them wanting another source of stable revenue. Adding the two together paints a picture that doesn't exist.
Somehow I knew a website was gonna put this interview somewhat out of context. Didn't think it'd be this one. NintendoSoup yeah but not this place.
@Yasaal Who are you even talking about anymore. This is the course of this discussion.
You: They're leaving this game to die. Me: They are not. You: What do you think the article is about then. Me: Correlating the lower end profits of November with the release of a large mobile IP by Nintendo. You: Yeah that's their excuse, they know what they can do to fix everything but they're dumb. Me: Sensor Tower is the one correlating patterns, there are no excuses from anyone. You: Well there's no info so all we can do is speculate.
Like what was that all for even. And now you're just comparing the availability of the Switch with the availability of mobile games???
Like officially, Nintendo has official distributors to less than the amount of countries than FEH does, and FEH is officially available in countries the Switch has to be resold to by licensed importers. Does that mean the Switch is being left to die?
Bloomberg also reported that the Nintendo Switch was the most purchased console for the Black Friday weekend and the third most sought after toy for Cyber Monday, but what does Bloomberg know. Not as much as Bloomberg.
There's a very specific part of the game with swirling fish that made my older graphics card chug down to 25. I wonder if I get to that part the Switch would explode.
This is the guy who is literally capable of doing these things but stopped his car next to a rock to cheat even though he was in first place by several miles.
People complaining about another Nindies direct so soon after the last one forget they've done a nindies for PAX around this time for at least two years now. Europe's indie showcase is a different thing.
"Elsewhere, Capcom picked out Resident Evil 7 and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite as other commercial successes"
Like hell it did. All the said was "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite released." that's basically it. They mentioned that it existed and its out for the west. Because they clearly know it bombed in Japan.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE They stopped him from doing that a decade or two ago because they were afraid people could just come up to him to get game ideas from him just talking about his life.

This is also another far reaching anti-hack update. The backend landscape and keys are completely changed again

@Yasaal It's... it's not even Nintendo or IS saying this, this is an analyst firm. Did you even read this article.
