Towards the end of October, an issue of V-Jump revealed Bandai Namco would be releasing another Dragon Ball title on the Switch in 2019. This one is a bit different from the usual offerings, as it's actually a card game by Dimps Corporation. At the time of the reveal, there was no mention of a release outside of Japan.
In the latest development, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission has now been rated by the Australian Classification Board, receiving a rating of PG (for parental guidance). The classification reconfirms the developer is Dimps and publisher is Bandai Namco, and suggests a western announcement is on the cards (pun intended).
As explained in Japanese manga magazine V-Jump, World Mission includes more than 1,160 cards - covering Super Dragon Ball Heroes 1 to 8 and Universe Mission 1 and 2 (previously released on the 3DS). There are also over 350 characters from the Dragon Ball series to fight with. Super Dragon Ball Heroes is based on the original arcade version, which is a two-screen design. The Switch release will include seven-verse-seven card battles with multiplayer as well. Not long ago, a teaser trailer (see below) was also uploaded, providing the first glimpse of the game. Take a look below:
Are you excited this game is seemingly making its way across to the west? Tell us below.

@Royalblues Dragon Ball as a franchise is not meh at all. This game on the other hand... >_<
I wonder if this means they intend to bring the card game over. Would be fun for us fans to collect, at least!
Finally you too can collect all 500 goku cards.
I guess this is good for that weird cross section of people who like DBZ, and trading card videogames.
Still a big DBZ fan at heart and fighting games have never held my interest for very long so I'm intrigued by this particular game. Not too familiar with trading card games let alone those adapted to video games. Only main exposure has been Pokemon Red & Blue on GBC (if that qualifies) which I was heavily into. All-in-all, sharing games with the West is a good thing. I'm lookin' at you Seiken Densetsu and Mother!
@Royalblues DBZ seems to be making a bit of a comeback w/ Super, whether us old timers like it or not. The DBS Broly movie is getting a balloon float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. That may not mean anything to you, or even too much to kids these days raised on Youtube, but it's still kind of a big deal in my head. A much bigger deal than even I thought Goku was worthy of anyway, and I want him in SSBU. I don't quite understand the blue hair though, I mean I know what it represents, my kid plays a lot of DBXV2 and both my kids are looking forward to watching Super once it's all been translated, but still, a Goku float should have big yellow super sayain 1 hair if you ask me. But nobody did. But still, Goku float, national tv, 25 million viewers every year, it's almost like getting a commercial during the Superbowl.
So as the Monty Python guy said in The Holy Grail, "I'm not quite dead yet."
TV ratings, in case you thought I was just spouting hot air. Giant balloon, hot air, get it.

Does anyone know if you can unlock all cards by playing or if this have microtransactions or cards packs as dlc?
i'm glad that this is coming to the western hemisphere. I asked a card game, proper, many times and one that brings them to life like in yu gi oh to come to nintendo switch, and it's finally happening. I'll sure pick this up sometime next year.
