Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?

Nin10doh

@rjejr LOL that is awesome. I wish I would have kept my old atari, NES, and OG Sega Genesis so my kids can see how us cavemen played games.

Man that Compaq Pressario brings back memories too. I had my log on sound, the music that plays after you log in, play a sound bite from star wars where Luke exclaims "What a piece of junk!".

Re: Poll: How Much Do Early Access and Free Downloads Affect Your Purchasing Choices?

Nin10doh

I never understood how some people never bother to check out a free game, or demo. I like demos personally, but they are a double edge sword, for both the devs, and the customer. I know that devs usually lose money on making demos, and it doesn't noticeably add to more sales.

However, for some (like me), it is the only way I can take a real chance on a game that I may have a fleeting interest in. If not for the Dual Destinies demo, I'd never would have bought Ace Attorney. Demos have also saved many of us from some God awful games.

Re: Japan Weekly: Famitsu Sheds Light on Monster Hunter Stories

@JaxonH Yea I get that the game is time investment, but it just wasn't anything appealing. A lot of the same mechanics (i.e. armor/weapon crafting and enhancements) are the same as most MMOs out there.

So its nothing really mind blowing for me in that regard. I think the genre just doesn't do it for me anymore like it used to when I was younger.

Re: Pokémon GO Success Causes Nintendo Share Price To Surge, But Teething Troubles Frustrate

Nin10doh

@seb5049 They were still testing the servers likely. People downloading it outside of the the intended territories hampered it. Can't complain about the company not being ready when they were, just not ready for exploitation from outside certain areas.

Although this did help test them in a way they hadn't anticipated so now they know what they have in store. I think a better idea would be to extend the closed beta, and lock out anyone not from the intended regions.

Re: Review: Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (3DS)

Nin10doh

@Xjay And over a year later, I'd say yes. I just picked it up myself, not having played any of the DS games. Now I've gotten the PL vs. PW as well since I'm a fan of the Ace Attorney series. I'll probably pick up the other Layton game on 3DS as well.

Re: Pokémon GO Global Rollout Delayed While Niantic Fixes Server Woes

Nin10doh

@Kirk But it wasn't a worldwide launch it was a test. People couldn't wait patiently for it to be rolled out. Can't blame the company for people acting impulsively. On the same note though they should have opted for a closed beta testing in those regions, there would have been some leaks, but not as many as there were in this instance.

@readyletsgo No its coming here, he was referencing an earlier article that said it wasn't coming, but another article that came later refuted it. Now "When" its coming to Europe that's whole other can of worms.

Re: Editorial: An Ode To The Wii U GamePad, Nintendo's Mad But Brilliant Controller

Nin10doh

@Al_Godoy 100% Agree, probably the least talked about game in terms of the Gamepad's utilization and just overall fun. Made the game immersive, and just fun as ever, same goes for ZombiU, and a few others.
Other games that used it as a map were useful and very helpful, Mass Effect 3, and AC: 3 and 4 come to mind. The off tv play is nice too. Sadly the vast majority of games seemed to take the lazy route and just use it as a second screen, which is not the gamepad's fault.

The biggest gripe has to be the battery life, if had half or even a fourth of the pro controller's battery life, without having to buy an extra battery, I'd have zero complaints.

Re: Review: Dual Core (Wii U eShop)

Nin10doh

Great game, reason I like Wii U above all else: couch co-op. Froze one me one time, and found a glitch with retrieving my daughters bot earlier. Other than that it runs smooth and its a fun fun game.
