I'm opinionated, and that's ok.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Now Available to Pre-load in North America

Neon_Blues

@donniedarkenson If Federation Force truly ends up being a bad game, then that's one thing, but it's not even out yet, so who's to say.

I for one welcome a mission/action focused Metroid. Do I think this is how all Metroid games should be from here in out? No. But this will be a fun game, and I think it's a great take on the series.

If it's bad, then people should be upset. But right now, this game doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting.

Re: Retailers Expect Pikachu And Pals To Be Big Sellers This Christmas Thanks To Pokémon GO Fever

I always thought that with people finally getting their wishes granted of being able to play Nintendo games without buying a Nintendo console, sales and interest in Nintendo would decline.

Guess I was wrong...

Still a bit pessimistic, but I'm glad to be wrong for once.

Now we just have to deal with elitist jerks being upset over new players "ruining" what's supposed to be a simplistic, family friendly RPG...

Re: Hands On: How Will the "Open World" Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Suit a Traditional Gamer?

Neon_Blues

I don't know why linear games are all of a sudden a sin... As someone who prefers more linear games, it's very depressing seeing every game go open world, and getting more complicated. I'm not saying complicated games shouldn't exist, but I'm tired of every game having to use every button on the controller, and every game having to sink hours in to it before you get started.

My problem with so many open world games is that they're all so story driven, which always turns the game in to a "Get to point A to point B", but do to the size of the world, it just takes ages to get to point B to continue the story. All the things you come across while traveling to point B are more distractions than anything else. Story and exploration don't mix, one must be sacrificed for the other.

The Legend of Zelda has always been about exploration, I understand this, but this seems like overkill. A Link Between Worlds was perfect for me due to the smaller size of the world, shorter length, and it's simplicity.

Re: Nintendo is Making a Subtle Shift in Company Focus

@GrailUK I agree.

I don't understand why gamers are so offended over the idea of their mom being able to play a game.

Part of the appeal of Nintendo games are their accessibility. Having a sample goal, and only using a few buttons.

I feel this is the real problem. Their games are very universal, appealing to both western and Japanese audiences, but gamers want even Mario games to be a complicated mess.

Re: Chrono Trigger Director Would Love To Create A New "High End" Version Of The Game

Neon_Blues

I wouldn't want a remake of the game, because I have a feeling it wouldn't be for Nintendo consoles(I only buy Nintendo consoles), and they'd probably get Tetsuya Nomura to do the artwork, and his style is way too overly asymmetrical, overly designed, and/or too emo for Chrono Trigger.

As for a movie, I'd watch it If Akira Toriyama did the artwork, but I feel Chrono Trigger would work better as an anime series.

Re: Nintendo Publishes Part Two of the Miyamoto and Hayashi Star Fox Zero Interview

@Philo I'm all for personality and character, but immersive gameplay? I'm someone to which immersion doesn't work on. I'm fully aware I'm playing a game, or watching a show, but I'm getting off track.

I don't see why lore matters either, especially if it's all made up. Who cares in the end, especially if the sequel ends up doing something completely different story wise.

I don't need to know why the the bad guy captured the princess this week, I just know I want to save her. In the end, it doesn't matter, because a new guy will capture her next week for different reasons.

If you like more story focused games, that's fine. But please don't ask for storyless games to have story. Mario doesn't need story, Splatoon didn't need the sea scrolls, and I wish Zelda stopped with story.

Re: Nintendo Publishes Part Two of the Miyamoto and Hayashi Star Fox Zero Interview

Neon_Blues

@Philo But video games shouldn't be much more than a pleasant distraction.

I don't know about you, but I for one am sick to death of hearing about how video games should replace movies, and sports. I hear it all the time.

It's like there isn't any other form of entertainment these days. TV, comics/manga, movies, sports. They're all out classed by video games. And every time I argue with them, they all call me closed minded, or that it's people like me holding video games back.

If Miyamoto wants to go back to the 80's with video games, then I will stand by him.

Re: Nintendo Publishes Part Two of the Miyamoto and Hayashi Star Fox Zero Interview

Neon_Blues

@SaKo It's because Miyamoto hates things people like, and likes things people hate.

His dislike of story of story in video games, especially Mario(Which I will agree with Miyamoto), and his belief in simple controls that make him come up with interesting things, like the controls in Star Fox Zero(To which I also agree with, and defend).

I stand with Miyamoto on many things.

Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves

Neon_Blues

@Yorumi I'll again say too high of standards.

Video game hype is crazy high these days, and when a game doesn't meet the hype, it gets ridiculed.

Not to mention that a game of a particular series, gets compared to what people believe is the best game in the series. All Zeldas get compared to Ocarina of Time for example.

I also think people put way too much stock in story. Xenoblade Chronicles X got flack for not having as good a story as the first game, when i don't think that should matter. Xenoblade Chronicles X's world was designed to be more open than the first game, and story had to be sacrificed to do it.

And speaking of stories, people are wanting stories in games that don't need them. I will forever be confused as to why people want a story driven Mario game.

Re: Random: Solving The Mystery of the Super Smash Bros. Melee Lost Stage

@R-L-A-George

I generally don't like them. They reach for things that aren't there, then he discards all his work and effort by stating "But hey, that's just a theory!"

And then looking through his videos, he even goes as far as to say that the ending to Five Nights At Freddies is wrong(I personally could care less about FNAF, and I haven't seen the video so correct me if I'm wrong), giving off the Peggy Hill mentality of "That's not what I think, therefore it's wrong!"

And then you have the fan base, that doesn't understand what the word "theory" means, and mistake his theories as fact, and start spreading it around.

Plus it's just generally unoriginal.
