Some of you may remember that Nintendo put on a National Streetpass Weekend in early June to celebrate the upcoming E3 extravaganza. Not ones to leave the isolated gamer out of the fun for long, they've opted to do another one that technically started yesterday.
National StreetPass Weekend: Summer Edition is taking place from July 21st to July 24th, affording gamers the chance to see that green light illuminate a bit more frequently than usual. Additionally, if one plays Mario Kart 7 at one of the many Nintendo Zone locations across North America, they can join a Mario Kart 7 tournament using this code: 56-5948-2194-6571. It all sounds excellent, so make sure to bring the 3DS with you so you can access those Deviant Monsters in Monster Hunter Generations.
What do you think? Will you be part of this Mario Kart tournament? Do you carry your 3DS around much? Drop us a comment in the section below.

Great idea, but horrible execution making it to where you have to go to a Nintendo Zone to participate in a tournament that is dependent on how long you can stay at the Nintendo Zone and amass points.
I love Street Pass!
I love Mario Kart!
I'm in!
StreetPass has lost it's appeal.
EDIT: To me anyway; you probably have your own opinion. This is mine. Respect.
I agree with @Knuckles
I still enjoy streetpassing. It's especially fun at major events like conventions where they pile up so fast that I can't keep up. I'm pleased to see Nintendo still doing events like this on occasion.
My only real gripe with the Mii Plaza games is most of the games aren't conducive to on-the-go gaming for, in my opinion, one main reason. All the Mii Plaza games require you to sit through the same dialogue sequences and instructions every. single. playthrough - and they can't be skipped. You could easily shave off a few minutes for each game if you could skip these unnecessary sequences. This may not seem like a big deal to those who don't visit Nintendo Zones often but if you're like me and StreetPass somewhat regularly at various locations, being able to skip these portions would make bouncing from one spot to the next a lot quicker, faster, and easier.
My only other complaint, which is more of an odd quirk, is the lack of maps for many countries. In fact, I passed by a person from Belgium and another from Norway and both countries have no map. They aren't the only ones: I've passed quite a few people from multiple areas in other countries with no map. (This includes Mexico. Really, Nintendo? Plus, I've met people from 11 different regions in Mexico, too.) It would've been nice to see where these people are located and could've been fixed with an simple update. Mii Plaza's an afterthought these days, anyhow. Nintendo's probably left it behind to focus on the NX, I suppose.
@Captain_Gonru
I'd say it is the current offerings that StreetPass has. I think the StreetPass concept itself is pretty cool but they ran out of ideas and/or stopped supporting it all together. The Puzzle Panels were great, the Find Mii was ok; the other games are iffy but I did them all. In game StreetPass stuff was hit or miss.
@Knuckles Just an FYI, and a FWIW, I was able to join the community and race without needing to be at a hotspot.
So I and a friend just joined the community without needing to be at a street pass hotspot. Guess you just need to be online?
But I don't wanna go outside to meet people!
