Re: Newzoo Estimates Less Than Five Percent of Users Have Paid For Super Mario Run

Nareva

The price is steep, no doubt, but the big disappointment from my perspective is that they won't keep the game going with additional level packs. They spent all this money doing the groundwork just to abandon it immediately? From an occasional iOS gamer perspective, and I can only assume the shareholders feel the same, this is idiotic. They could've charged $5 for the full game and then $5 for additional "worlds" of 24 levels every two or three months. I guarantee I'd be shelling out that additional $5 indefinitely. Seems like an obvious missed opportunity.

Re: My Nintendo Discount Applied to Miitomo Drop Game Tickets Reward

Nareva

I prefer the old physical Nintendo gear rewards. Posters, calendars, little tote bags, etc. My nephews loved that stuff. I'm just entirely uninterested in spending points on clothes...for a game...that I don't really have any interest in playing except to fulfill the least requirement in order to get more points.

Re: Video: This Hyrule Warriors Launch Trailer Aims to be Legendary

This is really fun. I've never played any other Dynasty Warriors games and I felt lukewarm about it after reading the review here, but after reading a few others this morning I downloaded it and played the first stage. Really a lot of fun. This'll be a great multiplayer game during the holidays.

Re: Poll: Tell Us What You Think of the New Nintendo 3DS

Nareva

Also, the name is terrible. "New" is not a word that distinguishes any product from another. What is Nintendo's problem with naming? They really suck at it. I have friends who loved the Wii, one in particular who finished Skyward Sword and 100%'ed MK Wii, who still don't know the Wii U is a new system. Complete fail. Might as well call it the 3DS U.

It's nice to see they are streamlining the handheld and console lines. I'm hoping their next gen system will be some kind of combination portable/home system.

While I'm not thrilled the new hardware will have exclusives since I just bought a "new" 3DS when Zelda:ALBW came out, I hate when people whine about hardware upgrades, so I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Re: Somebody At Ubisoft Really Doesn't Like Mario Kart 8's Mercedes-Benz DLC

Nareva

@Kodeen Nice

It's not in the base game so I can't get myself too riled up about it. Honestly though, it does look out of place. IMO, the one in the picture is kind of ugly. I think a better idea would have been to include futuristic concept cars from real car makers or better yet have those companies design an actual kart and throw their branding on it. That would've been fun and in keeping with the MK style.

Re: Capcom Releases Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies on iOS, at a Lower Price

Nareva

I understand why people are upset, but it makes sense from Capcom's perspective. People who buy a gaming device, such as a 3DS, will generally be willing to pay higher prices for their gaming experiences, while people who buy phones and/or tablets are not doing so exclusively for gaming and will, generally speaking, probably not be willing to pay as much for the same experience.

Re: The Legend of Zelda Monopoly Dated for 15th September in US

Nareva

@BigH88 I'm a big fan of boardgames. I love playing them. I played Monopoly a lot when I was younger, but it always takes about an hour too long and someone decides to quit. Plus, when a player loses, the game can still go on for hours, leaving that person to watch Monopoly, the only thing worse than playing. One of my brothers is always defending the game, but I despise it. Definitely one of my most disliked games. But if you like it, more power to you! The Zelda version does look nice.

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Be Promoting The Wii U GamePad As A Tablet Killer?

Nareva

The iPad is portable, fast and light. I love the Gamepad, but it is not portable, it is also relatively slow and heavy. The iPad's capacitive touch screen is also much more responsive than the Gamepad's resistive touch screen. Shooting for iPad parity is a nice idea, but the Gamepad is not even close to being as versatile. I'm hoping Nintendo is working on that problem for their next system, but that is likely still many years away.
