Pieces of eight and all that malarkey! Our ship mate Drake revealed the first screens on Pirates: The Key of Dreams only a matter of days ago. That was not good enough for the scurvy ridden seadogs at WiiWare World however. You threatened to make us walk the plank! In fear of being fed to the sharks we begged Oxygen Games for some in-game footage of their upcoming WiiWare title!
We can now reveal to you exclusive in-game footage from the upcoming WiiWare game. I will warn you that the video quality isn’t great, but I work with what I am given! Basically this is three clips joined into one. First off we start we an enthralling two minutes of showing you some menu screens, then one of the levels in the main game, and finally the four player multiplayer mode. Remember you saw it here first!

I dont really expect much from this game.
based on the video,
i think this game would become super repetitive.
however, i appreciate WWW's enthusiasm of bringing us news before anyone else.
Pirates Suck........BAD! :% :@
Well done guys on obtaining video development footage. It's great to see companies willing to show even little snippits of what they are working on, although it can be frustrating waiting for a game in anticipation I think the trade off of being able to get an insight into a game taking shape over time is worth that trade off IMHO.
.....eh....looks great just to much text!
Music sounds like cooking mama
This IS just Overboard. Can't wait till the 30th
The levels seem too linear but shoting down the navy looks pretty fun. Hope they don't overprice it. Also, TO CUTSCENES: shut up, Your story is boring. Just let us sink crap.
That "harr" or whatever it is was driving me nuts. Also I personally found the video to be a bit boring. I don't mean to be harsh on the video though and I appreciate you guys bringing us the news first. I think the graphics are very good though from the quality of the video which isn't bad. But the game just looks kind of boring. But I would hope that it isn't overpriced like some games are being thinks of Critter Round-up
684 views & im the first to put a comment under it ?
but stikll boring as watching paint peal .
The top down view and art direction reminds of the game Shipwreckers!
It could be just the the flash video compression but the water in Shipwreckers! looked a lot better than this game and Shipwreckers! is a PS1/PC game.
Was there really no Wiiware Game today? Only Paradroid for VC?
Yeah... but keep in mind that we'll probably get WiiWare games on Tuesdays. Also, you were lucky to get Paradroid, we Aussies got nothing at all.
Anyhoo... I like the look of this game. The amount of text may irritate some, though.
It was Overboard all along.
This can only be a good thing.
This is likely a tutorial video hence the constant text pop ups.
Seriously does no one else remember basic videogame 101?
@MarioManiac: Pirates comes on 30.5. (Friday), so I guess 20.5. was an exception to the rule
Bugger, can hardly make out anything from the video. Especially from the multiplayer part ... which of course is the mode I am most interested in!
So it's some more "wait and see", but I am really curious about this.
this game actually looks pretty fun, i thought. i could probably do without so much of the text but whatever. it seems pretty unique to me.
Too much text, yep but everyone should be used to that by now. xD
Thanks for the footage, guys. Great to see the Multiplayer in action. That stage is too dark... If its 500-700, I MAY give it a try but as it stands, I may pass unless the Multiplayer has more depth and looks... better/brighter.
Those pop up messages would drive me bonkers.
That looks dreadfully boring. Still, you have to hope that it turns out for the best!
Looks a lot like Shipwreckers (NA PS1 game, aka Overboard!) to me. I hope it plays like it, I remember it being a fun game.
@ lockelocke
ahahaha. same here.
I must say I'm much more interested in this now having seen the video.
I know it's only aesthitical, but I like the menu designs. The gameplay seems to exude the pirate theme nicely, as it should.
May well get it depending on how it scores in reviews, etc.
I may be getting this as well. It seems rather interesting, but maybe to generic?
Hmm, the again, after watching the movie, it does seem rather repetetive and downright dull. I'll wait for your review Wiiware World, and that will be my deciding factor. Thanks =)
Probably won't get this, but at least it's not Major Make Americans Look Stupid and Fat League!

"I'll wait for your review Wiiware World, and that will be my deciding factor. Thanks =)"
No pressure, then!
I absolutely adored Sid Meyer's Pirates!, and I'm going to have to put all of my preconceived notions of that great little game to one side when I download this one on Friday. The Key of Dreams bears more than a superficial resemblance to "Pirates!", although whether the actual gameplay is at all strategic or more action-based remains to be seen. I'm not that bothered as long as what's there is good. Time will tell.
