So happy Lunar made the list. I still own the game but the battery is dead I absolutely LOVED IT. One of my favourite jrpgs of all time! Not only on gba.
I bought the Switch and PS4 version. Even though the Switch version is far from ideal, I have had fun with it playing it in handheld mode. π€·π½ββοΈ
I liked mine but the left one broke after a couple of months for no obvious reason (there is no connections to the system anymore) and I won't spend that much money again π
I really can't understand that people are defending a 15fps game that costs that much. It is not charming, it is just a job done badly. Every other game would have been shredded to pieces if it looked that way. Metacritic stands at roughly 50something. 7/10 sounds like a joke to me. ππ
@mesome713 are you for real? πππ videogames and media have created pedophiles? You attended school, didn't you? It is this kind of "knowledge" that you use to create 'arguments ' so that nobody in his/her right mind can take you seriously.
I am 5 hours in. For me personally, it is an 8/10. The gameplay is really fluid, the graphics are really pretty, the fights enjoyable. I think the game is not great at explaining its mechanics tbh and I agree that levelling up is really shallow, however, I enjoy the first "plot twist" 5 hours in and I can see the story's potential. Another positive is, if u play it on the go, there are many save points so you can easily play 15-20 mins and progress in a satisfying manner.
I got it digitally for 39 Euros, so it was a no-brainer for me. Also, I agree that it is a game I play in-between games, so having it on the dashboard constantly is really helpful
@garfreek I doubt this makes a huge difference. After completing the side quest and some additional grinding, I entered the ruins and those fricking wasp-monsters just annihilate my whole party in 3 turns. At the same time, their hps are ridiculously high. And yes, air used different jobs targeting their weak spot
@BlackenedHalo phew. I thought I was a giant doofus, but glad you share my view on the difficulty. ^^
I think the game looks "fine" overall, I don't really dig the artstyle in towns (it is still FINE too). I reckon xenoblade chronicles definitive edition will be more likely to be my kinda jrpg.
Atm, I doubt that I want to grind through the demo. Too many games to play. I also want to try trails of cold steel 3. I tried the Japanes demo before but I had no idea what was going on, looked very promising though!happy it was added to the European eshop
Just started to play Doraemon Story of Seasons, which has a MUCH better visual style imho. So I guess I'll stick to that one (even though I LOVED the GBC original which I got for Christmas together with the Game Boy Colour and I still remember my grandma giving me advice on crops ^^)
For me personally, the switch is hands down the best console of all time as I spend a lot of time on public transport and I finally have a fighting chance to at least finish some bigger titles in between work, social life and sports.
So I reckon it will be a strong second place in terms of lifetime sales
I usually don't like racing games as I am a bad driver in real life as well π€£ but it is that arcady that even I enjoy it. I have maybe played for 4-5 hours in total and I don't see myself spending any real money but yet I can constantly upgrade my cars and play the game in small bursts and have a constant feeling of progress. I reckon at some point during the career mode progression will come to a halt but at this point, I might just stop playing and still have a had a good time without paying a dime.
I really wanted to like it, but having no Arcade mode killed it instantly. Instead of adding new fighters, they should have added some modes for crying out loud πππ I only played it for 2 or 3 hours
I was lucky enough to buy a copy for ps4 in a department store yesterday (for some reason they sell it a week early) and it is great fun. Just don't expect a pick up and play beat'em up. U need to invest time to get a firm grasp on the characters and their respective movesets
I just finished let's go evoli. Catching Mewtu and beating Green, I really don't see any point in grinding more. It was fun but really short. It only took me 34 hours.
It is a very good game. However, if u have played it before and finished it, then there is really lil to no reason to play it again as it is just a walking simulator with a decent story. But for ppl who haven't experienced it before, this might be a good opportunity.
Finished battle chasers last weekend (loved it!) and bought world of ff maxima this week. Even though it is a bit blurry in handheld mode, it still looks gorgeous on the small screen and it is also great for playing it commuting to/from work. Highly recommended if u liked the atb battle system in the older entries (even though u can also play it strictly turn based if u want to). Catching and developing mirages does not get old!
