If you like fast cars and free-to-download games, it might be worth checking out Asphalt 9: Legends on the Switch. This arcade racer was released on the hybrid system last October and in its first week was downloaded more than one million times.
It's now received its second major update - adding a new location and 10 new race cars. Here's the rundown and a trailer:
The second update is now live on Nintendo Switch™! This fully-loaded update lets you get behind the wheel of 10 new supercars and put them to test in the brand new Osaka location! There is much more to discover!

If you would like to learn more about this title and how exactly the optional microtransactions in the game work, read more in our review. Else, if you're looking for a more complete package, you want to hold out for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered when it arrives next month.

Just play the base game of £19.99 now and again in handheld. My youngest and I are more than satisfied with that. Admittedly, this looks cool
Who needs "Need For Speed"... well, who needs EA?!
Asphalt 9 is great and more than enough for me... 285 hours, garage lvl 9, 41 cars and my own club... FOR FREE.
Gonna try it out. Finally a new update
Ah man...1300 hours and counting. I was so close to quitting the game... I wanna at least check out the new track
So many great content updates for A9 in 2020. I keep having fun with this. And only got a few of the cheapest offers to keep supporting the game.
I bought only a single purchase (a small one) in April, and since then I've been playing only the free content.
This is a great game and really enjoyable even without spending a single cent.
Other free-to-play games can learn from this, and even some full-price games.
This and Gems of War keep me from most full price games.
I got a little burnt out (teehee) but this might pull me back in. The 0.99 ct pack was a no brainer.
For anyone apprehensive because of the free to play nature, just download it. It's an amazing game.
I actually started playing this two weeks ago and I love it. One of the best f2p games I've played.
Playing since its Switch release last October, I took a few months off but recently returned to A9, the MOST ENJOYABLE racer I've ever played (and played and played), and glad to have more cars and tracks. Career mode's "new car wall" can be annoying but you cannot quibble with the excellent racing action in this game. Truly outstanding!
Still play it fairly regularly as it's easy to play in short bursts, but the mobile mechanics (no pun intended) still irk me greatly for a console title. Haven't spent a cent on it though, so hard to complain.
Play it every day! I really enjoyed the drive syndicate special event last time!
@felony211662 Oh yes, agree... the Syndicate event was such a breath of fresh air. I honestly didn't expect another major update this fast, because of that.
The user interface is horrifyingly horrendous. Can't stand the menu system. The gameplay and graphics are good though.
