Re: Review: Subsurface Circular (Switch eShop)

I do not really agree on the score personally. I was instantly intrigued and played through the game in one sitting, but after the score the game got, I expected a lot more. I got the metaphors and analogies etc., however, I felt the ending was pretty cheap and unsatisfying. It reminded me of the Mass Effect ending tbh. I think from a narrative standpoint, there are better indies and even AAA titles out there.

But then again, also Journey on PS4 did not touch me AT ALL. It might come down to personal preferences

@PhilKenSebben do not buy tennis. It is the worst game ever (and I LOVE tennis). You cannot control your character, it doesn't even matter if u control your shots. For me, this is a 2/10 and I deleted it after 20 mins feeling ashamed that I bought this piece of crap

Just finished the game. It took me about 90 hours. I really, really liked it, I can't remember the last time I played a game within 3,5 weeks having a job and all for that long. The narrative kept me really engaged. It is not a perfect game, but it has been one of the best JRPGS I have played in the last couple of years.

The only thing that I thought the game lacked was some more info on Rex and Adam. And I did not like Poppi and Tora at all...("because Poppi is artificial blaaaade" ... yeah, u mentioned that for like 5 BILLION times, thx for the input, though).
glad I did not have to use them most of the time...
And why does every blade and every character need to comment on EVERY action within the menus? It drove me insane!

I have played the game for around 2 hours now. It is very Advance Warsy, which is a good thing. I also think it looks both fine when docked or in portable mode. Until now, it has been fairly easy but I think the difficulty will increase during the course of the game.

If u enjoyed Advance Wars, you should definitely spend 25 bucks on this one. I think it is definitely worth it and I do not regret spending tge money at all, even though I am also 60 hours in playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 🙈🙈🙈

@yeayeanaynay
"could of influenced my negativity towards the game" seriously?! It does not even make sense to use a preposition here (btw 'of' is a preposition)

could HAVE influenced 😏

Before you troll others for not using proper English and being all condescending you should do your own homework first 😂 and English isn't even my native language..

@BlackenedHalo well, I am glad they have switched their focus again the last couple of years have been disappointing in terms of AAA home console JRPGS (Persona being the exception, FF XV was just mediocre in my opinion).

I already received my copy of the special edition today. I am 3 hours into the game and I already absolutely love the world, the characters and the game's artstyle. It is HEAPS better than chronicles X, which was very bland in terms of storytelling and character design.

I thoroughly enjoy the game even though I do admit that for the most part, you just put your brain on standby and I am a huge Fire Emblem fan which makes the game even more compelling. I think 7/10 is a fair score and in coop it is an easy 8/10.

@fullyilly thanks so much for taking the time to reply to all of us! I will definitely try counterblocking more. had no idea it worked on bosses too. maybe that's why I am getting slaughtered in lvl 3 🙈

looking forward to easy mode regardless 😎

Re: Review: Wulverblade (Switch eShop)

Just downloaded the game and finished the first level and got my first game over on lvl 2. but I don't mind as I know that I am to blame for it as I didn't dodge and block as much as I could/ had to. I really love the overall presentation. I still haven't figured out how to stun enemies properly? Or is it random? Also, if I get a boss' weapon, can I save it for later and not waste it on weaker enemies?

Anyhow, great purchase! too many great games on my switch atm. might have to quit my job 😎 greetings from Germany!

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Director Explains Why the Life Counter Has Been Dropped

I think it is fine. I do not wanna harvest lives in a 3d exploration platformer. In games like Donkey Kong Country for the SNES and even in the two new DK games, I've had a love-hate-relationship with a limited number of retries.
(1) It adds to the thrill and in really tough levels (looking at you, spinning barrels), you are forced to focus a lot more
(2) However, at times, some sections can get a bit unfair and being forced to replay a couple of levels just to progress in one tough one can get annoying really fast.

I recently stopped playing the remake of Crash Bandicoot on the PS4 because it just stopped being fun when retrying a level for the 10000th time
