Nintendo Switch already has some high quality top-down shooters, but another hoping to get some love when it arrives is Trigger Witch. It'll have an open world, local co-op support and some fun looking twists in order to try and stand apart from the crowd.
It's due on Switch and pretty much every other system this Summer, with eastasiasoft picking up publishing rights for the Rainbite-developed shooter. It's coming to the eShop, but there'll also be physical retail limited editions available through Play-Asia, but we'll have to wait on those details.
Check out some blurb and the trailer below.
Trigger Witch is a stylized 2D twin-stick action game from the creators of Reverie, set in an odd open world where magic is outdated and firearms are the new way of life. Players assume the role of Colette, a prospective graduate from the Stock, an academy for Witchcraft and Triggery. After a mysterious man invades her realm, events are set in motion that turn Colette’s life upside-down, casting her as the sole heroine with enough firepower to restore peace.
Is this one you'll keep an eye on ahead of its Switch release?

This looks fun! The pixel art might not be the best, be the setting seems to be on point. I look forward to the release.
This looks like a very amusing reskin of gungeon, I'm down!
So Zelda with guns? I'm cool with that.
This is cute and horrible at the same time and I love it.
NINJA APPROVED
Imagine playing Skyrim or something and someone just yells "Shotgun spell!" and just pump your guts full of lead
Such a great concept. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Nearly every time I come to this site, it asks me to accept all cookies. I always have to customize and manually deny all the non-essential cookies. Big nuisance.
Game looks interesting, anyways, hope it's good.
That guitar riff is pretty gnarly.
The game is *****, and u can play the demo on x box game pass to see how *****. Also, I found a YouTube review from some no name Channel that was praising the game, and when I commented that I thought it was *****, I was ripped a new one by the channels owner as well as one of the games actual developers. seems like someone may be trying to convince review sites that the game isn't the piece of crap it is. I hope nintendo life doesn't fall into the same trap. I worry because they said in the preview that the demo was good. the demo lasted like 3 minutes and was absolute garbage. just a warning, folks. take 9t from someone who has owned a switch since day one and owns over 500 games, most of them recommended by Nintendo life. steer clear of this one. it rips off alttp in all the worst ways. you want a great Zelda esque game, play deaths door once it comes out on switch, or on another platform now .spend your 20 bucks on something worthwhile.
