Well, another week of Nintendo news and quirky weirdness has passed. We had even more stability for the Switch thanks to a firmware update, rumours of the Super Mario Odyssey team making a DK title, the internet making a meme out of an overpriced Calculator app and a lot more besides. We could link to various financial results and Q & As, but we know Calculator is more interesting.
It's time to unwind a little and discuss our weekend gaming plans. Members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

On the non-Nintendo front I'll likely continue to work through Resident Evil 7: Biohazard for the first time while its follow-up Resident Evil Village tempts me on the dashboard. I'll also try to jump back into Assassin's Creed: Valhalla for a look at its DLC expansion, 'Wrath of the Druids'. And yes, I'm still a baseball addict and will play a few games of MLB The Show 21.
When opting for portable play or away from home I have some exciting new games on Switch. I'll be playing through Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind; I bought both in the EU bundle, but decided to do the 'prequel' first. I'll also be looking at a couple of really impressive games that are EMBARGOED, so coverage of those will pop up in the next couple of weeks.

I've been playing Famicom Detective Club! Writing two reviews and a guide means I've played The Missing Heir three times, and The Girl Who Stands Behind twice. Fun fact: they do actually branch a tiny bit, but not much! Also, check out my guide if you're playing them, it took me two weeks to write!
Other than that... well, I haven't had much time for other games. But I am playing Resident Evil 4, which is my first Resi game, on Twitch. People keep coming into the comments, watching for five seconds, then saying "first time, huh?" in the chat, so I think I'm not very good at it....
Ryan Craddock, Staff Writer
I'm pleasantly surprised to say that I'm still plugging away at New Pokémon Snap (this one's got a fair bit more going on than the original did, huh?).
I've hit the credits and heard the words "oh, a new discovery" more times than I can remember, but I'm pretty determined to snap every monster going and get a complete Photodex. I've started going back around all the islands to do exactly that and I don't think I have too many left to find – although I'll admit I've had to read our own guides for a couple of the more elusive ones. I said I wouldn't, but they're tricky, okay?

Strong Wii line-up endures yet another week with the tricky Championship 3 races in Speed Racer: The Videogame. Back to the ring in Punch-Out!!, back to the black, white and red streets of MadWorld. As per usual GameCube not far behind since the surprise delay of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance on Switch gave me the excuse to make a brand new character on the original version of the game, and I’m having strange urges to say “Henshin!” a lot. Time to give both mainline Viewtiful Joe entries some love.
Game of the week is unexpectedly Space Commander: War and Trade. Sure, Everspace and Rogue Galaxy: Outlaw remain unchallenged at the top of space faring antics on Switch, but this premium mobile port manages to hit all the right checkboxes to make it a worthwhile investment.

Hello. This weekend the vast majority of my Switch gaming time will be spent playing through a few bits and pieces for some upcoming reviews, but any spare time I do manage to wangle will 100% be spent with Unknown Worlds’ excellent Subnautica. I’m still pretty bowled over by just how well this enormously entertaining game plays on Switch and am having a blast slowly crafting elaborate underwater bases, working my way through the various tech trees and hiding from giant scary leviathans all from the comfort of my couch in portable mode. How on earth did they manage to get it running so smoothly and looking so well? It’s beyond me. Have a good weekend whatever you’re up to or playing!

This weekend, I’ll be diving deep into Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. I picked it up a couple weeks ago, and I’m shocked at how utterly spectacular it’s turned out to be. I was expecting a decent game, but this just knocks it out of the park in hitting that old-school RPG feel. The grid-based battle system is an interesting take on turn-based combat, and the time-travel mechanic makes the story feel a lot like a successor to Chrono Trigger. I’m honestly kind of amazed I don’t hear it being talked about more, as I’d say so far it’s shaping up to be one of the best RPGs on the 3DS.
Aside from that, I’ll also be playing through Panzer Paladin, which I’ve been putting off playing for a while now. So far, I love the old-school challenge, and the weapon changing mechanic is quite interesting. I know retro platformers like this are kind of played out by this point, but Panzer Paladin has at least reminded me that fresh ideas can still be brought to the genre.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

This week I will be mostly playing
Star Fox Assault
New Horizons
I always say the same thing, so here goes: Stardew Valley! I’m ready to put it down for a while but I’m at 99% perfection, I’m compelled to get that last 1% before taking a break.
Apex legend, MHW, MWR, and maybe a little somthin, somthin.
I just restored Hephaistos's essence in Immortals Fenyx Rising (worst vault of the game yet in my opinion), so this weekend I'm gonna hopefully restores Ares's essence and defeat Typhon! In other news, I also finally ordered Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, so I'm gonna start that once it arrives.
Playing through chapter 5 of YS 8. Probably some Muse Dash/Deemo or whatever rhythm game I fancy in-between.
Panzer Paladin is a good shout. I bought it in the sale a few weeks back but got frustrated at the sparse checkpoints and having to re-do the big linear levels. Maybe worth another punt.
Castlevania season 4 😍 i love it. Playing bravely default 2 and will play monster hunter rise later.
Still playing through Mario Odyssey for the first time, collecting as many moons as you're able to before moving on to the next kingdom (as I hate seeing the ending too soon) Finally reached Bowser's Kingdom!
Asides from that I might do a little Overcooked 2 story mode and Pacman 99.
I'll be mostly playing Calculator this weekend. I've heard great thing about this game an I'm hoping NL will do a review on it soon.
Finishing resi village again, then maybe sekiro again xx
Katamari forever (ps3) - fun game so far. Much bigger than touch my katamari (the only katamari game I played prior to this).
Pokemon shield (NS) - you know the rules, and so do I. (Shiny dhelmise hunting)
Not much this weekend, I’m going on vacation next week and I don’t like starting to much that I then have to set asside for a week.
I’m messing witness Hibiki in BlazBlue CF - when I can get to the Switch as my son has discovered Mario Odyssey.
Wishing I could play the Guilty Gear Strive beta.
@dBackLash you're spelling "tits" on it, aren't ya
Evergate, Into the Breach and The Longing. Also finishing Hyper Light Drifter (for the 7th time, it's that good).
Just finished LoZ: The Minish Cap. I hadn't played it in years, and it is just as good as I remember.
Next up is The World Ends With You (DS). I have actually never played more than 30 minutes of it, so I am excited to give it an honest shot.
Hypnospace outlaw was on 50% sale so I picked that up during the week. Not sure if it still is. Gunlord X is currently on 50% sale which puts it under a fiver so will pick this up as well.
I now have the dragon form on Monster Boy cursed kingdom. Will finish this first before putting more time into Will of the whisps.
Switch - Picked up Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Persona 5 Strikers the other day, so probably gonna try those out!
PS4 - Borderlands 3 co-op with friends!
PC - Trying out Morrowind via Game Pass!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and New Pokemon Snap
i am finishing lucky's tale and project warlock(a must of game!!)
and i am starting tomorrow sub Nautica
I just watched a gmtk video on ori and the will of the wisps so I’m continuing my play through of the 1st in the series, ori and the blind forest on my switch
I am playing too many games at once! Mario 3D, Fez, ACNH, Rocket League, Need for Speed, Travel Mosaics. I need to focus on one game and finish it!
I am more than 50% through Fez. It is a good game and I am starting to understand and navigate the hexagonal map system. I have played hundreds of platformers, and Fez surprises me with the creativity, the ingenuity of the design. It is a good game!
Happy gaming everyone!
I got super burnt out 100%ing Immortals, with that usual Ubisoft fatigue setting in fast. I finished it all in around 50 hours so then moved on to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, thinking it’d be around a 30 hour experience to fully complete that game. 57 hours later, I finally got it beat last night and started Golf Story which I’ve been looking forward to getting around to since it launched (4 years ago!)
After 2 hours on that, I can already tell it is EXACTLY the sort of game I need after those previous two endeavours. Super simple, super fun and super addictive. Can’t wait to get back to it and enjoying the feeling of the hours slipping breezily past that I’ve been missing
Back to Switch with some combination of New Pokemon Snap, MH Rise and Bravely Default II. The Switch front will mostly be about those 3 games until E3.
I will be playing Resident Evil Revelations 2. I want to finish it and return to Resident Evil Village NG+.
Subnautica is awesome. Playing a lot of that.
I think i'm almost at the end of Re Village
Other then that i'll be playing Age of Calamity
Super mario bros 2 on NSO
If i find some extra time Ocarina of Time, i was about to go to the fire temple
Planning to do close the book on Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition this week(end). I'm in the midst of Chapter 15, did as much exploring and side-questing that I wanted and feel it's time for my journey across the Bionis and Mechonis to come to an end.
If I find some time I hope to get to find the Flame of Din in Skyward Sword as well. Not looking forward to the escort mission up the volcano though.
This week is all about Subnautica!
I'm gonna be diving into subnautica (pun definitely intended) since the game has really hooked me (get it? hooked? like fishing? I'll see myself out.)! I'm playing on PS5 and while the almost always consistent 60fps is nice, there is some ugly screen tearing when you turn around. Still good though!
DOOM Eternal on Switch and I am loving it.
I impulse-bought the Subnautica twin pack yesterday, so I hope to try that out a little. MonHun Rise finally got its hooks into me this past week though, and the Rogue One table in Star Wars Pinball keeps tempting me for one more try...
Wishing everyone an enjoyable weekend!
A Capcom themed weekend...
Switch - Monster Hunter Rise
PS5 - Resident Evil: Village
I finished Dex earlier this week and started Outerworlds.
I'm also playing FF VI on the GBA.
FE Awakening on 3ds and some 3d wörld
...and maybe marioparty online later
I’ll be playing Pokémon Snap since I decided to quite playing Horace..
On the Xbox front I was undecided between Immortals, Mafia 3, or Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Choices...
I'm still having fun with Pokemon Snap, and realizing that part of the magic of the original was as all of the kids in my neighborhood who were also playing it and talking over solutions with me. It's a different game when you are a sad adult lol.
I'm also trying to love Scott Pilgrim
@RGH27 @gb_nes_gamer
I just finished this two days ago. Beautiful and perfect sequel. I loved it so much and am so sad that it is over. I hope you love it!
@Donutsavant Yes, Ori and the Will os Wisps is so good it´s sad when it comes to an end. I loved it even more than Blind Forest.
Just beat Last of Us: Part 2.
I also got the soft credits in Fez and Robotics Notes!
... I got some cleaning up to do.
I probably won't be doing much this weekend...I just got my second Pfizer shot, and man was I feeling achy and uncomfortable last night. Still am, but not as badly. I'll be playing some Animal Crossing and Super Metroid (after having just played through Samus Returns recently). I don't really know what else just yet. Probably Metroid Fusion once I've finished with Super. Maybe then I'll play Zero Mission, and who knows...I might replay Prime after that.
Chugging along in Resident Evil and being the perennial noob I am at it (7 ink ribbons after barely getting a grenade launcher💩) - and it turns out I've been playing on easy all along, due to the difficulties' fancy naming and "hiking" sitting in the middle where you usually expect Normal to be.😂 Regardless, it's still a pretty awesome game, but I reckon I'll either skip Chris playthrough afterwards or do it on "walking" difficulty. An actventure with limited save iterations gives me enough cognitive dissonance as it is, much as I've known about and braced myself for it in.advance.😅
Beyond that, other various stuff on Switch - from the newer Limbo, Void Terrarium and Dusk Diver to the continued Portia, Truck Driver and Shantae to the resumed Dragon Quest, Fire Emblem Warriors and Highrise Heroes, as well as probable forays further into Dead Or School, Be-A Walker and/or Ghost Parade. 3DS ambitions include the not unfamiliar Valentia, Khurain and Etria hijinks, Vita ones include the usual God Eater and potentially more Odin Sphere. Fix your release schedule already, Nintendo, don't you see I'm starving for games to play here?💀😉
I recently remembered that despite being a big fan of the series, I hadn’t played a Tales game in so long. So recently fired up Tales of Berseria. First impressions make me think the series has been pretty stagnant which is probably why the latest has taken so long to arrive and seemingly has changed quite a bit.
Outside of that hoping to finally finish Castlevania: Symphony of the Night after multiple attempts although I fear the PS4 version’s music is quieter; plus PS4’s subpar d-pad doesn’t help. Maybe should restart on the PS Vita.
It was 20 years ago today...

Starting Cobra-Kai this weekend and checking in with Animal Crossing
It's been mostly R-Type Final 2 and Steredenn all week. I've been thinking about Mario and Luigi, though, so I might fkre up Super Mario Odyssey today. And I've got to get some time in on Ring Fit Adventure as I've been slacking all week.
Super Mario Party. My bf lives far away at the moment so he got the game as a bday present for me so we can play online. I'm expecting a fierce battle.
Hades, just... one... more... go...
No switch this weekend except maybe for the odd Hades run. Switching between Mass Effect: LE & AC:Valhalla DLC on Series X. While I also have my New Game+ Ghost of Tsushima run pending halfway through.
Zen Pinball 2 (Vita) - I've been in a high score challenge with a friend for the past day lol.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series (Windows 10) - Starting Episode 4 this weekend, I hope it isn't as sad as I remember.
Gerbil Physics (Windows Phone) - At the end now.
After three months I have FINALLY finished FF12. Lol it's never taken me so long to finish an RPG before but I feel so accomplished now that I've beaten it. Tbh even though I loved the gameplay, I still think this is my least favorite Final Fantasy so far.
I also recently got to ending E for Nier Automata last night....man I literally cannot stop thinking about it! I didn't want to delete my save file when it gave me the option because I was thinking about completing the game and getting all the endings. Honestly I kinda feel bad the more I think about it lol.
I still feel like I have so many questions (I think I might've missed what caused project gestalt to fail) and I definitely plan on getting Nier Replicant sometime. I kind of want to wait for a sale but man...I'm really tempted to pick it up right now lol.
I've got persona 4 golden in the PC backlog as well. I'm excited to give that game a go and see what the hype surrounding persona is about!
It's times like these the Switch reminds me of how convenient handheld mode can be. Why? NHL Playoffs start today! This year's going to be a bloodbath. With that my gaming will be a bit sporadic. Don't really care about today's games but tomorrow it begins:
Game 1: Minnesota Wild vs. Vegas Golden Knights. To be honest I'm slightly worried about this series. Then again I'd be more worried if round 1 was against Colorado...
Back more on topic I'll probably continue playing Rise for sure. Takes awhile but if I can find a lobby with real MH players that can make all the difference. I may try again with Friday the 13th The Game but now without dedicated servers peer to peer multiplayer is just unplayable. So sad. My overall gaming this weekend depends on how many beers I'm deep especially how well the playoff game(s) are going.
A bit of Terraria, and maybe some Stardew.
Streets of rage 1 then 2 with my son and if I get more time mario 64 star road
Finally got over the “what am I doing” hump in XCOM 2, now I’m really digging it 😎
Finishing Bowser's Fury and I might start AC: Vallhalla's first expansion Wrath of the Druids.
Octopath Traveler then gonna play the SMT3 remake
Got at least one picture of the 214 Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap earlier in the week so now I’m focusing on my next backlog game Fire Emblem Three Houses along with my quest a night ritual in Monster Hunter Rise. My buddy came home from Europe so we linked up for some good ol’ local hunting & I must say it is a seamless and smooth experience ! Still loving every minute of this Capcom classic.
Happy Gaming Everyone!
Lots of fire emblem 3h and ull try to get into oceanhorn 2 tonight as well.
If I can sum up the courage, I really need to start attempting facing off against King Dice in Cuphead soon. I really want it to be this weekend, but man...I am NOT a fan of boss rushes and randomness...but I love the game, so I need to just steel myself and try it.
Other than that, most likely my typical Arcade 1up fare. Probably Big Buck Hunter World and Marvel Pinball. Maybe even a bit of Pinball FX3 on my Switch as well.
EDIT: YES!!! I finally beat Cuphead! Survived the Devil with only 1 HP left!
I will try to finish saints row 4 story , such a good game to evacuate the tension of this pandemic.
Y'know, I've been feeling like playing DKC: Tropical Freeze today. Think I'll do that.
@Donutsavant they are beautiful games. While I’ve just begun will of the whisps, I like the gameplay changes so far, for attacks and skills.
There are some lovely wallpapers for mobile and desktop on the official site if you haven’t checked already.
Monster hunter rise
The Famicon Detective games. Also the Sega Astro City Mini finally came in from Limited Run games. Played Golden Axe the Revenge of Death Adler for the first time.
Still playing BOTW for the first time.
I had one of those facepalm “so that was all I had to do” Zelda moments when I returned to Gordon City after feeling stuck and doing some other things. When I left I had a good idea of what I needed to do just not how to do it. Then when I came back I randomly hit the thing I was trying to activate with a weapon and it did what I needed 🤦♂️. I thought I would have tried that because I thought I tried everything.
(I’m being intentionally a bit vague to avoid spoilers for anyone else like me who is playing this game very late for the first time. And I don’t see where the markup for the comments is documented so I could do the black box spoiler text that I see some people do.).
Fairly busy weekend, but we'll see what I fit in.
I rolled the credits in Monster Hunter Rise yesterday, but I can say with certainty that I'm FAR from done! I've tackled a couple of Village Quests since. My last mission of the evening involved trapping a Somnacanth. Magnamalo gate crashed the area, the two started fighting, and the latter went into a mountable state! Much Somnacanth pulverizing ensued.
I'm also still whittling away at Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. I'm currently in the middle of Act 3. I should stick with one army and see their side of the story before switching, but somehow it's more fun to keep moving the action for both parties along lol.
Finally, it's Swablu Community Day in Pokemon Go! Hoping to get out for about an hour before it rains later. I've wanted one of the golden balls of down for ages.
Happy gaming!
Subnautica starting. Hades if it doesn't captivate me. BOTW just because BOTW
I'll be playing Monster Hunter Rise, trying to finish the Village Quest (after having 100%ed the Hub ones so it should be a breeze). Then I'll launch Animal Crossing New Horizons for my daily dose of beached DIYs duplicates. Finally I'll explore new horizons in Littlewood that I bought this week and I must say it is quite charming. And after watching @KateGray on twitch the other night I decided to give my second playthrough of Resident Evil 4 a go, things are much easier with a fully loaded magnum right from the start.
I am playing ace attorney spirit of justice on my 3ds and on my switch mostly captain tsubasa and may be persona 5 strikers
Fire emblem GBA
FF VII, Bloodstaind, finishing up Lost Vikings on Blizzard Arcade, Fez
FF X and Cattails.
Subnautica, such a great game and a wonderful port! As soon as I sunk my teeth into it I was hooked, it's really a fun time.
Aside from Pokémon Snap being great, Sony has been putting out great game after great game.
After just finishing Returnal, next up is Resident Evil Village and NieR Replicant! I hope we can get Nier on Switch someday soon.
Looking forward to SMT 3: Nocturne in 10 days. Hope everyone has a great weekend gaming!
Think I'm finally slowing down my runs with Hades (great, addictive game).
I've now finally started Ori and the Blind Forest (backlog). It's really serene so far.
And still playing the lovely Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, but I wish more people knew how/wanted to play Mini-Shogi with me 😔. I also secretly hope it gets an unexpected free update (like Super Mario Party did) or DLC that adds more skill-based games, card games, board games, strategy games, game variations, customization options, robust online (i.e. monthly online leaderboards, ranked matches, stats, tracking, tournaments, gauntlet mode) etc.
I really enjoy & love Clubhouse Games and think it could be expanded upon to be a great Switch hit, especially in these ongoing Pandemic times.
... Wun can only hope.
I've got a really busy weekend, but there's always time for Monster Hunter.
Taking a few weeks off Skyrim. Started Wulverblade - can't say I'm au fait with the genre and not sure I'll be able to complete it on normal but it's fun and really well themed. Also started doom 2 for the nostalgic feels. Reminds me of being late for school (well, 6th form) cos I was busy playing doom 2 on pc.
I finally have a weekend where I’m not catching up on work items (no thanks to being thrown our largest account) so I’ll actually get to play some games for once. I’m thinking MH Rise, Subnautica, and Splatoon 2.....always Splatoon 2. I have to keep sharp for Splatoon 3 after all.
EDIT: and Vader Immortal...snuck in some of that as well.
@darkswabber Sometimes those smaller games or more focused game sessions have their own wonderful feel to them hope you enjoy before leaving for vacation!
Currently on chapter 17 of Xenoblade Chronicles DE. Currently 90+ hours in and around level 75...the side quests and exploration keep pulling me in! I am starting to feel some fatigue, so I’ll probably try and wrap it up this weekend. Cheers, everyone!
Mass Effect on XSX, Returnal on PS5, and likely nothing on the Switch. I'm sad to say that I haven't really touched it for almost a year now. I'd sell it but my son loves the occasional go on Mario, plus I know I'll want BOTW2 and Metroid, whenever they release...
After finishing Resident Evil Village on PS5 a few days ago I decided to start Resident Evil 4 on Switch. I only beat RE4 one time a few years back on Gamecube. The controls feel dated and I sure wish it has gyro aiming. I'm still having a good time though. I also need to finish up Bravely Default 2, so I'll probably play that as well. On PS5 I'll probably get back on The Avengers. I stopped playing it because Village came out.
So far, I haven't played anything. If I do play something, I may try the Sam & Max demo, maybe play some Rocket League.
Been caught up on Switch games for a couple months. So that is packed away.
Mostly Master Chief Collection and Borderlands 3. Also still grinding away at Hollow Knight on Xbox One X. NKG and the Pantheons are giving it to me.
I don't know what took me so long to pick up DKC Tropical Freeze but I started it last week and can't put it down. The pacing, movement, level design and challenge level are all perfect. It's probable I'll just be sticking to that all weekend.
I'm continuing my playthrough of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep - Terra & Ventus' stories are done, just making my way through Aqua's playthrough now. I'm really enjoying experiencing the story from three different perspectives, I'm hoping to have the game finished by the end of Sunday
@DTfeartheBEARD not sure if you have an Oculus but RE4 is coming soon for it in complete VR. I was about to bust out the RE4 again myself till I read that a few weeks ago so I’m holding out for it.
I’m loving Subnautica. They did a phenomenal job on the port (I’m playing 100% handheld so far). Thinking it will tide me over (no pun intended) until Skyward Sword releases.
@Sourcecode I don't have an Oculus. I seen that it's coming out in VR though. I am excited for an RE4 Remake supposedly coming out in a few years.
@realityxaidan Love Kingdoms of Amular...still playing it!
Playing Zombie Army 4 in-between cramming as many easy 1k indy games in before the 10k punchcard runs out - doubt I will get much chance for Switch games.
Playing Subnautica, one of my biggest fears is being stranded in the ocean & I've always been captivated by any under sea setting, so I'll be trying it out. I picked up South Park The Stick of Truth on sale and I'm shocked at how good of an RPG it is.....having watched the show since I was a kid, it's amazing how authentic it is. I also picked up Fractured after I got into it simply so I could play it after. Also got Mario + Rabbids Kingdom on sale. Some New Pokemon Snap, trying to get into Hyperlight Drifter, Dead Cells, and we'll see what else. May play some Dragon Quest XI and get back into Monster Hunter Rise.
This weekend I'll be playing Fire Emblem Warriors, as I really enjoyed the Hyrule Warrior games. I'll also be playing Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy, as it came out around the same time as both A Hat In Time and Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I prioritized the other two games over it, so it's been sitting on a shelf unplayed and I'm looking to change that.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Insanity mode. We’ll see how far I get before dialing that waaaay down. 😅
@JBone
Tropical Freeze has been on my wish list for a long time. Still holding out for a sale.
Finished Returnal (amazing game!) , just finished resident evil village! Amazing! Starting nier replicant and mass effect!! Such a good string of releases on PlayStation
@Donutsavant that’s why I skipped on snap. Loved it as a kid, but with no kid friends, and a cell phone that takes pics.. I’m not sure Pokémon snap has that same magic that the original did.
@PapaGlitch my switch has collected dust since Pokémon sword. There’s just not much big releases that consistently come out. Meanwhile PlayStation and Microsoft always have triple A’s
I'm playing The Messenger and To the Moon currently.
Monster Hunter Rise on the Lite. About 130 hours in so far.
@Guitar_bard Really good choice! I never played Minish Cap growing up, and I played through it for the first time last month... So freaking good! Honestly, Capcom needs to make more Zelda games again. Way ahead of their time.
@ItsATM Thanks!! I completely agree. It is easily one of my favorite Zelda games, period. I can't believe how well it has aged!
I am still astounded by the GBA/DS/3DS library. Sooooo many classics out of those 3 generations.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX. I completed the game a while back but finding the post game missions really difficult but I like that it isn't super easy like the mainline games.
@Absol I love the gameplay, but I wish there was a better loot system to motivate me to keep playing/grinding.
@dugan
I sometimes think having multiple games on the go at once is more efficient than just one since there's always some variety and you are much less likely to procrastinate/burn out
@Mgene15 I hear that, but I also didn't want to hold that against this release, you know? Like that's for sure a "me problem" and the game is still good! It's just not what it was then.
@MeloMan how is the Messanger??? I know that dev is currently working on an RPG that looks sliiiiick, and apparently they are setting it in the same universe. The Messanger isn't my usual cup of tea, but should I give it a go?
@Nintendo_Pone Yes, that is a good point. I try not to have the same genres. Like I finished Ori, before I finished Lost Words and now I am playing Fez.
But playing games like Rocket League, ACNH, and Mario 3D are so different that it is good to have variety.
I appreciate your response!
@Donutsavant It's a challenging platformer/adventure type of game that is fun to play and funny, but you will die a lot. It's not so much unfair as it demands you pay attention at times. Overall it's a defining example of a retro style game done well. Oh and, it can't hurt if you like Ninja Gaiden.
MO:Astray ,which is a great puzzle/platformer and bought Raging Loop recently, so just started it.
Other than that, HS and VR games.
