Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch

@Spiders as both a big Kirby and Souls fan, next year is truly my year! Kirby is the perfect companion from when I hit moments of frustration in other games. Lol sometimes it just takes a nice break with some chill action platforming to get me going again in my other ventures. I'm hyped for Elden Ring!

@Medic_Alert I don't even know what other games you like lol. Not sure what you are talking about. Also I'm not "running" around. I'm under an article about a particular game. I'm not chasing or arguing with anyone. Just under an article talking to ppl about what the particular game the article is about. This is chill discussion Not hostile lol.

Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch

Kirby_Girl

@Medic_Alert the games are generally above average and consistently enjoyed by the base fans. With not a huge stinker in the bunch. It's fine if this entry level series is not your cup of tea but the games are generally received well and the franchise has been around for over 30 years coming up. I wouldn't say it's all 50% scores and disappointed fans. Not bad for a series that is 2nd party and with an introductory mission. Granted the productions aren't on the level of an Odyssey or BoTW but that's a lot of games.

Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Has Been Rated For Nintendo Switch

Kirby_Girl

@FishyS post game always has harder content. Star Allies has the hardest boss rush to solo in the series and "another demension" was a harder campaign. I swear whenever ppl complain about the game difficulty Shinya Kumazaki just makes the post games modes harder and the bosses in the new runs brutal...please... don't say another word for me...

Re: Feature: 14 Wii Games That Deserve Switch Ports

Kirby_Girl

@NinChocolate I played the demo to give it a shot. I was more interested in it because HAL labs was more involved and some powers were there but the powers were shallow, similar, and tacked on and it felt overall the same. Decided not to buy it after trying it out. Can't fathom ppl outside of the casual fans like the Nintendolife staff here would buy the game a third time. Can't imagine the base would triple dip x.x Sold bad enough on 3ds when the console was dying.

Re: Feature: 14 Wii Games That Deserve Switch Ports

Kirby_Girl

Every Kirby fan when game journalists always pick Epic Yarn for its aesthetic gimmick when Return to Dreamland is much more popular with fans 🙄

No way I'd spend money on Epic Yarn again when it has zero replay value.

Also it's definitely not the best Kirby game lol that article you linked to. Only ppl who generally don't play the franchise might think that. These ppl barely played enough or understand the the pioneering in the older titles.

Re: Nintendo Is Eager To Utilise More Franchises For 'Visual Content' Like Movies

Kirby_Girl

@Tempestryke I don't agree. Tbh. It's fine for the kids it was aimed at but I was an adult at the time and just couldn't get into it. It had NOTHING to do with the games, lacked any of the more varied and surreal dreamy landscapes of the games, and just wasn't compelling to me. Kirby is a real weird thing to make a show for. It's a strange world and I think it just works better in the games then watching it. The only game cartoons I think are decent and decent rep of their property is probably the Pokemon cartoons.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Preparing Your Island For The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update?

Kirby_Girl

I just moved everything on my island! I now have a farm area, got rid of a lot of my invisible patterns and made everything more natural. I want it to be ready for farming and gyriod digging!! I'm actually more satisfied with the island I rearranged over two weekends then the one I spent hundreds of hours on LOL Still all that previous work allowed me to get a hang of it and acquire so many items.

Re: Feature: The Scariest Game On Every Nintendo Home Console

Clock Tower is awesome and just a generally cool looking snes title. I also enjoyed Silent Hill Shattered memories. It's not without some flaws but some of the features with the wii remote were cool and some of the imagery sticks with me till this day. It's very spiritually in the style of Silent Hill even if it plays differently. I think It's the only good later title.

Re: Sony's Censors Strike As Switch Gets '20 Ladies' While PS4 Gets '20 Bunnies'

Kirby_Girl

Nintendo life please stop reporting on this nonsense. We all know you do it just to gin up reactionary nonsense responses about "censorship" meanwhile governments actually censor the information we get about their citizen suppression. That is censorship. This junk is marketing nonsense that companies do across all territories or platforms. Also ZERO people care about such a terrible looking nothing title. I wouldnt be surprised if this is ginned up by them just to sell anything of this God awful looking game. This isn't worth jack sh*t.

Re: Random: Forget Dread, It's All About Metroid: Other M On Twitter Right Now

Kirby_Girl

@Spiders I'm sure everything has its fans. Even the lowest of garbage and those ppl are honest about it but generally this game is dismissed and it would be foolish to think things trending online don't have a band wagon effect when we know that's an internet phenomenon that happens regularly. It was definitely the case with stuff like Waluigi and this. If you honestly loved it good for you but I'm far from believing you are the representative feeling of this trend that happened to come back as Dread released. This is a campaign from a vocal minority.

Re: Random: Forget Dread, It's All About Metroid: Other M On Twitter Right Now

Kirby_Girl

Lol this is straight up dumb. This is like the walugi effect where some garbage thing gets meme'd into being relevant to ppl. Other M was not good. Stories can be about trauma but that story has to be told well not through dead narrative lines, out of character moments and ham fisted themes. Other M is entirely ridiculous and at most ironically and mockingly enjoyed. Also who the f even cares about these themes when I just want to see Samus kick ass. Not everything has to be some expression of inner tormoil. Especially in a game series where environmental story telling was a stronger and more appreciated aspect and the source inspiration is more sci-fi action films. To be honest this whole this is just bizzare to me. Just plain WEIRD imo.

Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes

Kirby_Girl

Tbh I don’t care for any of the online services. I have ps plus but I haven’t been using my PlayStation at all lately and mostly use it to play souls titles. They offer free games but most of it is not my taste. Right now it’s Mortal Kombat and some shooting game and some sports game. When it’s not those genres then it’s some bloated theatrical game I’m not into. So I really haven’t downloaded many if any. I like Nintendo genres much more but I do want to see if they drop more games first. I love the added online function but not everyone irl I know really wants to play older games or the same older games. I will play the Animal Crossing DLC tho so it’s a debate. I do play the snes game so I can see myself playing the old games on my own too. I just wish you could keep them once the service ended. Such a shame. Also I wish they wouldn’t drip feed the games!

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Switch Box Art For Kirby And The Forgotten Land

@Zag_Man Kirby is an entry level series with the hardest content being hidden or post game such as the True Arena or Soul Melter EX mode. I'm not counting on this new game suddenly cranking up the temperature to 100. I mean I just beat Dread over the weekend and like challenging games but still love Kirby games. However I can't recommend them to ppl who aren't into its jazz-like freedom and chill easy main campaigns. Its not for everyone. Kind of like how there are animal crossing fans who play AC for hours and ppl who play ac for a few days, consider it boring because "Nothing to do" and just stop immediately. It's either your thing or not but this being a new game i guess you can wait and see or try a demo.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Switch Box Art For Kirby And The Forgotten Land

Kirby_Girl

@Saturos1 yes!

The classic Kirby games is Kirby Superstar. It’s the series equivalent to a mario 3 or super Metroid. Very influential on the modern titles and on smash brothers! You can play it with the Switch online service. Many ppl seem to enjoy the remake even more and that one is on DS.

I also highly recommend Planet Robobot on the 3ds! Best of the modern titles and generally favored by fans as the best of Director Shinya Kumazaki’s works. Cool sub games, fun campaign with a robot mechanic that’s a blast to just mess with. Very tough True Arena boss rush challenge with new version of bosses including another part to the final boss.

Ppl also seem to really like Return to Dreamland on Wii so I’ll recommend that too. It’s pretty good too.

Also I recommend the NES game. It feels like an NES game but still impressive for its time and worth experiencing. Just some nice history and still charming.

Triple Deluxe is good too and cheap now for 20 bucks. On 3ds.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Switch Box Art For Kirby And The Forgotten Land

Kirby_Girl

"Kirby should have been 3D since 64"
Look Kirby is coming in late to 3D for a variety of reasons ppl need to acknowledge. 1st Kirby is second party and not first, 2nd after Sakurai left, HAL had different directors scramble and work on Kirby games but nothing quite stuck until Shinya Kumazaki finally brought back elements fans knew were a big part of Kirby. Finally powers with moves and an acknowledgement of what makes Kirby, Kirby. Finally stability. 3rd they have been working on 3d since the GameCube. Kirby is not Mario and its not just a matter of porting an avatar into 3d that moves well but one that also inhales and uses a multitude of abilities. This all had to be translated in 3d in a way that felt right and like the franchise.

Anyway I'm very excited it's finally happening but I understand all the nonsense that went on before and the fact HAL has been attempting this for years. I'm glad to see it looks promising and like a good interpretation of the experience in 3D

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Final Fighter Is... Kingdom Hearts' Sora!

Kirby_Girl

@Bluerangervegeta lmao you think any of that had an acab messaging? That would be too sick of them.lolol. You should see where Disney puts it's money. Anti climate and other non progressive missions. Just because they dabble in slight pandering that's not even good, nuanced, or deep, does not mean they are sjw. They are a company and a company cares only about its button line.

Re: Video: Metroid Dread's Latest Commercial Puts An EMMI In This Poor Woman's Lounge

@Shiro28 I'm Latina and I would love rep. Yes ppl should just write a good character but problem in a lot of media is people have inherent bias on what qualifies as a character worthy of certain traits, roles, and depth. Getting ppl to write outside their comfort zone improves them and forces to them to think how will this character's perspective be different on this matter versus others. How are they the same as others? Also studies have shown that representation has a HUGE impact on better perception of marginalized groups ppl. There should both be good push to have ppl write more perspectives and more experiences AND just write good characters.
