Last week saw the arrival of the final fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora from Kingdom Hearts. As you might recall, he's also been added to the famous mural - slotting in between Dark Samus and Ganondorf to complete the roster.
While it's one thing seeing a digital version, the game's director Masahiro Sakurai has now shown off a real-life version of the mural, that's been printed and framed. He doesn't actually mention where it's hanging, but we're guessing it's either in his home or studio - and what a sight it is!
By the looks of it, some fans have done something similar, and if you look in the right places, you should be able to find a high-resolution image of the mural online. We're sure it would also make a fantastic item on the My Nintendo store. Please, Nintendo!

Would you be interested in a printable version of the Smash mural now that it's been completed? How are you finding Sora? Leave a comment down below.

That would look cool on my wall
As tired as he must be of Smash I can't imagine how proud he must be of his accomplishment.
Honestly I would get one if it didn't cost like $1000 to custom print something like this.
Being 100% honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Sora is the only reason Nintendo hasn't mentioned selling this yet. His keychain is clearly visible, and something tells me Disney doesn't want anything with The Mouse's iconic silhouette being sold unless they get a big cut of the profits...
He should be very proud. Few people put in the kind of detail that he does. Really quite bittersweet, to know that we may never see Mr. Sakurai again.
@VIIIAxel I'm not a copyright/trademark lawyer but I'm fairly certain you can't just copyright something as ambiguous as that keychain's shape. The Keyblade however is a different story and the character himself though I'm not too sure if they can just use Sora for anything else other than just the game.
It's not just an issue with Disney though. Nintendo would have to ask permission from every 3rd party publisher who owns a character in that mural assuming they do need permission to provide/sell that image/poster via their official channels.
I hope he posts more pics of his game collection. Always curious.
@Zyph but its not ambiguous at all. It's clearly the Mickey head logo, and this is Disney, who is the reason so many facets of copyright law and extensions exist.
@Bakfug Fair point.
Can't you guys go one day without talking about Sakurai?
They should sell this on the My Nintendo store.
@Zyph The keychain is Mickey Mouse's face. Disney's definitely trademarked that. And it's true that the others would need permission as well, but given that it seems Sora is the only fighter not getting an amiibo, I'd imagine Disney is the main issue here.
As someone who has just got in to Smash Bros, this is insanely cool.
@Tasuki who in their right mind would be able to do that 😎
heads to etsy Somebody has got to sell this thing.
Edit: picked up this one and the classic mode mural.
That’s awesome and thanks to that Tweet (or should I say thanks to the awesome community who replied to it) I now have a very high res version of the entire image and every character individually.
Now, I just have to work out how to get my £30 canon to print this thing…
@VIIIAxel are they definitely not doing an amiibo? I thought way back they said there would be an amiibo for everyone. I assumed it would be a condition of being in Smash. Did I miss the confirmation of no Sora?
I'd definitely buy it if they made it available. I reckon it would look pretty awesome in my gaming room.
I'm still amazed something like this exists and was officially approved by every single IP owner.
Not to be THAT guy... but couldn't they have got him the right sized frame for the picture?! It looks silly with the empty gap either side.
Or is this a sign that there will actually be even more characters arriving... !!
@Chris77 It hasn't been outright confirmed he's not getting one, but at the end of Sora's reveal presentation, Sakurai showed all the remaining Smash characters getting amiibo in the future and it was everyone but Sora. There wasn't any reason for Sora to not be included in that list (Corrin and Bayonetta were both confirmed to be getting amiibo in the same presentation in which they were revealed for Smash 4 if I remember correctly), so a lot of people are thinking he probably won't get one. I'd love to be wrong, but I'm thinking it probably won't happen.
@nocdaes I wouldn't count on it.
I hope Sakurai doesn't make another Smash game for a long time. I'd be happy with a Smash Ultimate Deluxe port to the Switch 2 in 3-4 years with a few more highly requested characters. But even that might be pushing for too much. The game's already jam-packed!
@VIIIAxel who says Sora isn't getting an Amiibo? The other DLC Amiibo were not announced when the fighters were announced. That came much later
I think Sakurai should be on the mural too
This is not how you hang a picture from a wall. Why am I seeing the string from the frame?
@VIIIAxel I'll be pretty annoyed if I've collected every Amiibo in Smash and then they don't make Sora!
I'm paranoid about missing one of the final amiibo.
Hopefully they are saving Sora for a final announcement as the final designs weren't ready in time or something like that.
Nintendo could easily make 💰 💰💰 putting this for sale on their Nintendo store. If not, someone else will.
@Chris77 Amiibo comes with the standard package deal of putting a character in. Every character that gets in gets signed off on an Amiibo as well. He's coming
@Mando44646 Smash 4's final character presentation announced the amiibo for the two characters who had just been revealed. It would be odd for Sakurai to say "These fighters will get amiibo as well" and leave out just Sora since they were informal announcements rather than the usual full amiibo reveal. It's not confirmed, but it looks unlikely.
@Chris77 The other amiibo announcements in the final presentation didn't show the final amiibo designs, they just used their Smash renders. I'm hoping they just didn't have the deal finalized or something, but his absence in Sakurai's amiibo announcement has me concerned.
@Bizzyb that's what I thought, but where Disney are involved you never know.
I'd absolutely love this to be a MyNintendo reward.
@VIIIAxel Was that confirmed? Usually they wait awhile before even mentioning Amiibo(with Ultimate). They announced the Sephiroth(with his game render) one in Soras direct. If it was confirmed that would be a bummer. But I’d assume part of the negotiations for Sora was also an Amiibo and other merchandise licensing. It would be really weird for Nintendo and Disney to go half way with a character like Sora, especially since I’m sure they’d make a killing off a Sora figure. Square only sells Sora plushies(at double the price of an Amiibo)
I thought I wanted this but then remembered that #$%*# online ruined a wholesome game. It would just remind me of losers.
Big Sigh.
It's been a long run. I remember playing since Melee.
I can't believe that Smash has been going on for longer than 20 years. Congrats Nintendo. You did it.
I consider this a mark of all of Sakurai's hard work.
@Varkster
I got it printed by a company that does custom canvas prints. But I also mixed up the size…. So it’s going to be four 34 inch wide panels.
