Re: EA Sports Reveals FC 25's New 5v5 'Rush' Mode In First Trailer

I just hope they build upon this engine for Switch and sort out the (IMO) dreadful input lag. Going from 60fps to 30fps was a little painful, but going from low input lag to really high was the killer for me.

Did the lag bother anyone else? I never saw much complaint about it. It felt like I was moving a tank when getting a player to turn on a dime!

@LikelySatan Dumb question, but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? I am surprised more aren’t complaining if it’s like that! Could be a bad install, maybe?

Yeah, Quake 1 feels like an arcade shooter, so fast and fluid! Both 1 and 2 are amazing ports.

Looking forward to seeing more from Nightdive! But I had hoped to also hear about them fixing that broken Bladerunner port…really wanted that, loved it back in the day on PC.

Re: Review: Quake II - Another Truly Outstanding Remaster Of An FPS Icon

Kintypoo121

Okay, I finally cracked! Told myself all day I can get this game in a future sale, since I still have the expansions in Quake 1 to get through! But this review, along with the SwitchUp review made it Day 1(ish).

Even at full price this is a serious steal! I already have Quake 2 on Steam so got the upgrade for free anyway, but to have this, Doom 1-3 & 64, Duke Nukem 3D, Ion Fury and a few other classic FPS games is fast making the Switch my favourite console ever. I say this growing up in a somewhat golden age (imo) of gaming in the 90s.

Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite Nintendo Controller? Every Nintendo Pad Ranked

Likely an unpopular opinion but for playing with the Mrs or friends in the same room, the Joy-Cons really are great. Quick to switch them into single or joint use for games like Switch Sports, works ALMOST as good as the Wiimote for gyro (really wish there was an infrared though, to be fully accurate), and light to hold.

The D-Pad is terrible for anything serious, and drift has cursed me a few times. But for us, the Switch is used mainly as a fun co-op gaming machine

@Teksetter Take it easy, styes on the eyelid are brutal, used to get them a lot when I was a teen. I would recommend once that heals, get yourself some J&J No More Tears and wash your eyelids with that and very warm water regularly, especially if you feel they're not smooth to the touch.

Hope you can get back to gaming soon ~

Re: Soapbox: If You Thought Last Year Was "Sad" For Switch, 2023 Might Be Hard To Handle

Kintypoo121

Been a good year for us on the Switch. Switch Sports getting the golf update brought us back HARD, enjoying it much more than expected. The new MK8 courses have kept us checking in on that game too and the backlog of shame is keeping me busy inbetween too. And Nier: Automata running pretty much flawlessly was a nice surprise.

I think if you own another console or PC (I have a decent PC), the Switch can be a fantastic companion away from a desk and with friends or family on the big screen. It’s showing its age, but still a cracking little system that could.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 3rd)

Kintypoo121

Have many of you been playing Switch Sports Golf? Been having a blast on it, the controls work well and there’s a lot of replay value with the 21 courses and wind affecting your shots.

Dug out a game from way back in my Steam backlog called Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Great game so far, based on the Chinese story of the Monkey King, it helps that I love that story too!

Re: Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition Team Talks About The Game's Messy Launch

Kintypoo121

It really would be great to hear opinions from people who have the game on Switch as I would LOVE to get this on the go. Almost bought it day 1!

Heard that the other versions had been patched already but haven't really heard if they fixed much on the Switch version yet, or if they even planned to. Could anyone confirm if it is running better these days? Sounds like it is a still a work-in-progress.

Re: House Of The Dead: Remake Gets An Update, Here Are The Patch Notes

Kintypoo121

Gave it a go last night after not touching it since its release and it DOES feel much better now, the gyro aiming is more responsive and it feels closer to the Wiimote now, not perfect, but finally playable.

We still keep HotD 2 & 3 on the Wii for our proper arcade-fix though. I do wish the Switch (or maybe Switch 2.0) could have a sensor bar accessory, the IR tracker in the right Joy-Con might be usable with that tech.

On Switch playing through GTA: Vice City, some Mario Kart 8 online (still waiting for a few new courses to show up in online selection). Had a little go of EarthWorm Jim 2 on NSO and wow, it’s a tough game, dunno how I beat it so easily as a kid!

On PC I’m trying to finish Final Fantasy VII Remake

Re: Talking Point: Should We Still Be Pre-Ordering Games?

Kintypoo121

I think I’ve only ever pre-ordered firstly party games from Nintendo, and even then I’d rather wait.

The backlog of shame isn’t getting any smaller, so I’d rather only purchase games that run and look good on the console, waiting for reviews from SwitchUp and of course NL And from the lovely people in the comments section!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 19th)

Kintypoo121

I caved and bought GTA: Trilogy during the sale today, playing GTA3 in portable and it’s running and looking pretty good so far! Playing them in order but I’m extra excited for Vice City

Also playing through the extra mission in Doom 3, had held off on it until I got the OLED, it sings on that screen!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 12th)

Kintypoo121

Playing through Xenoblade Chronicles DE, already 12hrs in. Had always wanted to play the original game after enjoying XBC2 & the expansion.
XBC1: DE runs much better than XBC2 did in handheld, so much so that I haven't felt the need to dock it so far. Looks great on the OLED too, couldn't help myself and got one a few weeks ago

Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

Kintypoo121

Just upgraded my OG Switch to an OLED last week as a Bday gift to myself

The OG model is still going strong after 4 years of use, no damage to the console, but had to swap out some sticks in the joy-cons due to the dreaded drift. It’ll mainly be docked from now on unless the Mrs gets an urge to pick it up!
