Looks off. Also wouldn't it be a little odd to see a boxed bundle so soon in the Switch lifecycle (assuming we're talking about value) when the system is already selling like hotcakes on its own?
My Nintendo doesn't have to suck even with digital rewards. There's things they can actively do, such as making special armor available in BotW (this only serves as an example of the potential for other games here), themes for the Switch, high-quality-FLAC-caliber soundtracks from beloved games.
Instead it just does objectively suck, and Club Nintendo was better.
If save data backup/transfer options don't end up coming it's rather shameful given their previous consoles had more options. It's as simple as that for me really.
Whether or not cloud saving, in particular, will end up being the solution is secondary to the existence of any solution.
Is the User ID confirmed as essentially a gamertag? Been curious about whether or not nicknames or user IDs would be seen online. Or is this something we just don't know yet?
Sticking with the standard physical release. I'm done with limited editions (unless it's something I think is insanely cool- which I understand and respect some people think this is).
@alexandrecn1985 Actually, thank you very much for this. I haven't been following Dyack for a long time so I'm probably going to take a gander at that youtube channel right now!
Ugh. Just release the thing before we hear anymore bad news. Also heads up US people, GameStop has the pro controller up for preorder. Stand-alone it's sold out (lol) but still available with bundles.
Hopefully they will stay this beautiful as time goes on. I remember early in the 3DS cycle that artwork took advantage of the perforated boxes. Then, aside from Atlus, most games forgot this was a thing.
I'd rather have a more refined (and built-in) Miiverse with voice chat/party capabilities than a freaking smartphone app.
Just because it was clunky, slow, bloated and overly restrictive (all Nintendo's failures to address) doesn't mean it was a bad concept for dealing with the social side of the Switch online service.
I hope we don't end up with what essentially amounts to a DestinyLFG clone. Be careful what you wish for.
This game gives me faith that the Switch launch will be the best system launch ever, regardless of the small initial system library. Just think, we've reached a point where we can play something like this on the go! :,)
Imagine how happy everybody would be if both this and AM2R appeared for free on the 3DS eShop. Or even better were made available as launch games on the Switch as the introduction of a fan game section on that platform's store.
Then sit back, relax and wait for....FEDERATION FORCE REMASTERED !
@Yorumi As somebody who was initially open minded about this...you make good points. Nothing wrong with feeling this way. If there is value to be enjoyed with the non-multiplayer aspects of the service, they should have detailed them BEFORE the announcement of a subscription fee. Whoever made that particular decision hurt this system's launch.
@MrGawain The last few months, I have to say I agree. Aside from Nier Automata, I'm not really looking forward to much and what is there isn't pulling me away from my backlog of OG DS rpgs.
I love the Wii U. I hope the Switch jumps over the high bar of quality set by what fantastic games were there. More importantly though, I hope it brings us back to a time where the games do the talking rather than Nintendo focusing on radical new ways to play them. By that I mean that the quality of the exclusive software can stand on its own without waggling/multiple screens (or even VR for that matter).
The very brief moment when the Ferrari from Out Run shows up in Afterburner II is one of my all-time favorite gaming moments. Random, yes. But it is the reason I will be buying this along with blast processing.
I liked the 3D effect a lot. I noticed a lot of vocal dissapproval of it but, more often than not, it made games immersive in a new way. Of course it wouldn't be necessary on the Switch and I would not want it to hinder performance if included.
It felt good when devolopers cared enough to implement 3D in a creative way. It usually signalled that the game was high quality.
Another problem with the 3DS black friday deal was the way Amazon, in particular, handled opening up orders (and how it affected the scalper economy on eBay). They 1) sold the product earlier than indicated in any marketing material and 2) failed to notify any of the customers who signed up for their apparently useless email alerts.
I ended up having to buy from scalpers at a small premium (about 20% more than the original price) for the black model. However, had I waited I would have paid a MUCH larger premium as the average prices that sellers charged went up and eBay's guaranteed-sale-price (i.e. the price the seller is guaranteed to get) increased.
Sucks that you have to resort to scalpers but it's even worse that you basically have to buy immediately from them or watch the original price skyrocket into the stratosphere within hours when you miss the five minute window to pay the retail price. I'm confident that the NES Mini will be restocked at some point. The white N3DS might (BIG MAYBE) show up again somewhere. The black North American N3DS model, I'm confident, will never show up again. I predict it will be worth a relative fortune once scalpers catch on.
Fantastic game. One of the luckiest GameStop experiences I had in acquiring it at a great price.
It's also a perfect illustration for why the eShop releases need to be wider in scope. Games like this, Sigma Star Saga and ZOE are the reason I still recommend people buy the Gamecube+Gameboy Player (component cables optional but worth it). There are so many truly awesome games that will probably never come to the eShop.
Majoras Mask New XL is still the reigning champ in terms of looks IMHO. Followed closely by the Super Famicom edition. This one is toward the bottom of the list for me. The XY (red/blue) systems were gorgeous though.
I'm glad to have the first game on the 3DS. Personally that's the only X game I really like despite the fact that I love the X mechanics. The Zero games for GBA and the ZX games all tie for the #2 spot for me after the first X.

Yeah, no. The burgeoning wallpapers-for-points era isn't exactly the finest hour for My Nintendo.

Best new look ever.

@2CUTE4YOU Complete in box and brand new? It can pull in far more than $300. I wouldnt, but I'm certain there are a lot who would.

Nope. There's only space in my heart for the regular N3DS.

Phantasy Star 1-4 remasters would be greatly appreciated on the 3DS. Faceplates would be a cherry on top but I won't be greedy.

Giana Sisters is a surprisingly decent platformer that I'd recommend for the Wii U.

Luckily I have absolutely zero interest in getting one. This means I'm neither a scalper nor competition for those that yearn for one.

Re: Feature: Reflecting on Four Years of the Wii U
Good console. Some classic games that really jived well with the gamepad.
Everything about the future of Nintendo now rests on the Switch's shoulders. I'm very optimistic though.
