I should give the first game another chance sometime. I was enjoying it at first but the later levels didn't click with me.

Volume 2 is going to have Sonic I'll wager

Waluigi Pinball, followed closely by New York Minute. Sky High Sundae in 3rd

I'll buy it on sale for 14 bucks or less, but I already own too many other better versions of these games to really care about Origins in general

It's a great Kirby game. For me, Planet Robobot is very slightly better, but since everyone has mostly moved on from the 3DS this is definitely the defacto Kirby release

Overall happy, at least we got one of the tracks everyone was asking for

I would say Toy Soldiers is ever so slightly more mature than Advance Wars in that enemy infantry has obvious death animations. In AW human units just fly off the screen when shot with no unique "dying."

@steventonysmith Agree, Wargroove is incredibly good. I can only hope it sold well enough to become a regular series.

I completely disagree on the best 3D Mario being Sunshine but it's such a charming game I can see why it's so endearing

It's easy enough to just play the original games.

Some voice acting and a questionable graphical update doesn't change the core games at all and isn't worth waiting years for.

Haven't thought of this game in years. Remember going to get Rainbow 6 from a pawn shop, it was so popular it was sold out so ended up with this instead. Quite a fun shooting game. Cheers!

I wouldn't mind snagging it on sale for $19. Just not sure if I'll really like the "puzzle" aspects of this platformer so I can't jump in at full price personally.

They do look cute and fun though

Considering the CDi barely has any internal hardware to play games proper, getting anything resembling a decent game on it was a feat for the ages

Probably done buying mini consoles here. Already own several and found aside from the turbografx mini I don't really play them long term.

If a dreamcast or saturn mini comes out I will reconsider.

For what it's worth I still think the definitive releases of Sonic 1 and 2 were the 3D versions on 3DS. Not expecting any agreement but those versions look amazing above all others. Just a shame they didn't get to 3D Sonic 3

I hope they put in a bigger variety of music. My bff plays Splat 2 every day and I feel like I've heard the... 5? Songs used in that game roughly a billion times now

Honorable Mention: Kirby and the Forgotten Land! The new common enemy called Awoofy is a replacement for waddle dees.

They can be found around the game doing various puppy things like napping and scratching their ears.

I'll just keep playing the originals. Too big a downgrade at too high a price imo

If they attack it's all fair game. If you attack the sleeping ones though, you're a true monster

The original "before MJ" tracks are much less good than what ended up in the final game

Sega needs to get over their obsession with the MD era and realize people are more interested in Dreamcast and Saturn games.

All due respect to these devs, I'm sure they are working hard, this just doesn't look fun or enjoyable at all. Sonic Mania 2 please!

Bought this because it reminded me of Tumblepop. It's a fun little diversion for the price. Does the reviewer just not like one screen puzzle games?

Nintendo really shot themselves in the foot using the same crappy cheap joystick parts as everyone else this generation.

Joycons are worthless. No working switch in the future will use first party joycons after they stop getting manufactured because they will all be broken. The Hori pads don't have the same features but at least they work as a controller.

Why I'll buy it regardless of owning the games on other platforms:

Less lag than genesis collection
Switch portability
Widescreen
Sonic&Knuckles

That's pretty much it. Worth the price of admission for those features alone.

I love Galaga 88 so this is an instabuy for me. Was just talking with a friend about how this needed to be on modern consoles the other day

Not a Zelda fan here, no sorry. With an OG switch and a switch lite I don't really find myself thinking of purchasing any more switch hardware

Liked: Less obvious product placement, Tails, Knuckles.
Disliked: A few less jokes landed for me.

Still it's an impressive feat to make a sequel arguably better than the first movie

I can see why Chrono Cross has fans, but to me the comparison between Cross and Trigger isn't even there. All of Cross' companions feel interchangeable with just some slight "accent" dialog differences between them. Also didn't really care for the battle system. A pretty, but overrated game.

Not a must buy on launch for me but probably a pick up on sale kinda game. Looks pretty fun

I'd like to see some tighter level design next time around. Some of the few opening stages were fun but then the game seems to turn into quite a slog.

A lot of these games are already on the genesis collection. Why don't they focus on games that are more obscure?

Nothing here worth paying a monthly fee for. The genesis collection goes on sale on the eshop all the time.

Launch Switch has always had a screen protector and been kept in a hard case.

Survived one drop where it broke the original screen protector and scuffed the unit. That's the only visible damage and it functions fine. After years of play it never warped, bowed or broke the ribs on the cooling vent.

My JoyCon rails are insanely tight still, though they have been holding Hori SplitPad Pros and not what they were intended for.

All in all the launch Switch hardware, as far as I can see, is designed well and can last a long time with care and proper airflow while playing for long sessions. The atrocious JoyCons are another story.

I've always felt Ikaruga is ULTRA overrated. Oh sure it's pretty and has good music, but the actual gameplay? It's a real love or hate type game, almost just as much as a puzzler as a shmup.

Was very impressed with Cham the Cat Adventure. These graphics look much better than Solar Striker which I assume this is partly based off. If it's under $10 should be a very solid buy.

My friend group of about 4 all passed around the same copy of Kingdom Hearts for PS2, played it, didn't get into it, wondered why game informer had rated it 10. Never could understand what all the hype was about.

Can't you almost buy a real arcade cabinet for what they want for this?

Basically a must have for anybody that doesn't have kid sized hands. After using the split pad pro since just a few months after launch a vanilla switch with joycons is cripplingly uncomfortable

Looks great. Hope we do eventually get another mainline entry but this will definitely keep interest in the series alive
