Re: Talking Point: What Was Your First Legend Of Zelda Game?

Jayenkai

Owned about 4 or 5 over the years. I'm not a "storyline" player, and get bored far too easily, especially when button-mashing the Skip button. Just absolutely zero patience.
BOTW is about the only one I've enjoyed properly, but not as a Zelda game.. more as an aimless wandering game.
I like that bit.
Gimme more of that!!!!

Re: Get Creative With LEGO Bricktales, Coming To Switch Later This Year

Jayenkai

I really do want to believe that this'll be as good as it promises..

..but it's going to be stupidly linear, with barely any freedom in the solutions, isn't it..
In the helicopter clip, notice how it goes to "builder world" until you get the correct solution, and only then progresses any further..
That's got my "not a sandbox" hairs a-tingling..

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 13th)

Jayenkai

@Clyde_Radcliffe Yeah, there's a fairly large selection available.
Top right button on the main menu, then third tab along, brings up a huge library of everyone's content.
You can filter by genre and then sort by most recent/most downloaded/most liked/etc.

I think the last count I saw was about 2,000 downloadable things, though with the obvious disclaimer than a couple of hundred are going to be "My first code!" types of things. There's definitely some decent quality games in the list.

Re: No Man's Sky For Nintendo Switch Gets A Firm Release Date

Jayenkai

Yes yes yes!!!
Have it on my PS4, but remote played it. (Can't play games on a big telly due to bizarro brain-surgery motion sickness.)
Also have it on Xbox GameCloud, but again, less than ideal.
I'll be grabbing the Switch, and also the upcoming Mac version, though I expect a Mac version to trigger off my motion sickness just as bad as playing it on a big telly.
That's a bit worrying, isn't it?
4 versions of the same game!!

.. wonder I could meet them all up, and have a big cheese and wine party, off on some random planet somewhere..?

Re: Jun Senoue To Adapt Some Of Sonic 3's Music For Sonic Origins

Jayenkai

@UltraZelda64 I think it's all a case of "we asked MJ to do some music, this is what his team sent us."
It probably doesn't matter who originally created it, and all the things we've learned since. It's still under the license that has a big red "let's no longer use this.." sticker on it!

Re: Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Showcases A Pretty, But Sparse Open World

Jayenkai

It's like they went "Look at Hyrule after Calamity Ganon.. What would happen to Sonic's World (whilst point-blank refusing to call it Mobius) after Eggman has done the most damage he possibly can to the landscape..?".. Whilst also forgetting that this would end up with a technically-overwhelmed robotised landscape.
