I do like One OK Rock, and am in fact listening to their new album as I type this. But I think both of these tracks would've worked better in a Shadow game...
Owned about 4 or 5 over the years. I'm not a "storyline" player, and get bored far too easily, especially when button-mashing the Skip button. Just absolutely zero patience. BOTW is about the only one I've enjoyed properly, but not as a Zelda game.. more as an aimless wandering game. I like that bit. Gimme more of that!!!!
Having originally played with mouse&keyboard, back in the day, I was surprised by how well the gamepad controls worked. .. up until one level where I had to shoot a portal, spin round, shoot another, jump through, and shoot a third, all before the wibbly wobbly power ball hit the wall.. That was too much for the controller!!
I really do want to believe that this'll be as good as it promises..
..but it's going to be stupidly linear, with barely any freedom in the solutions, isn't it.. In the helicopter clip, notice how it goes to "builder world" until you get the correct solution, and only then progresses any further.. That's got my "not a sandbox" hairs a-tingling..
@Clyde_Radcliffe Yeah, there's a fairly large selection available. Top right button on the main menu, then third tab along, brings up a huge library of everyone's content. You can filter by genre and then sort by most recent/most downloaded/most liked/etc.
I think the last count I saw was about 2,000 downloadable things, though with the obvious disclaimer than a couple of hundred are going to be "My first code!" types of things. There's definitely some decent quality games in the list.
Truth be told, I can't remember the last time I had my GameCube powered up. Once the Wii came along with Back-Compat, it seemed kinda meaningless. ... But you'll have to prise it from my cold dead hands...
This was my first full FPS, back in the day. Friends all switched to PCs, just as I'd finally saved enough to get my first console. Bah, humbug! But, yeah, this was great back then. It hasn't aged, though, and I don't think modern FPS Gamers should dare attempt it if they don't already have those special rose-tinted spectacles!
@Nancyboy Either that or he's being forced to sit like that because years of crouching at a computer has knackered his spine up something awful. .. he says, out of experience
Yes yes yes!!! Have it on my PS4, but remote played it. (Can't play games on a big telly due to bizarro brain-surgery motion sickness.) Also have it on Xbox GameCloud, but again, less than ideal. I'll be grabbing the Switch, and also the upcoming Mac version, though I expect a Mac version to trigger off my motion sickness just as bad as playing it on a big telly. That's a bit worrying, isn't it? 4 versions of the same game!!
.. wonder I could meet them all up, and have a big cheese and wine party, off on some random planet somewhere..?
I've played these games to death, from the time I rented Sonic&Knuckles 4 or 5 times from the local video shop, so I could complete it with my own copy of Sonic 3, all the way to the numerous re-releases over the years. I've played them enough. I won't be buying this. ... maybe. .. but I probably will, though.
Yeah, I had a couple of 6-button pads back in the day. Hold Mode to play!
Also, Retro-bit have been doing 6button pads for a fair while.. I bought one about 4 or 5 months ago for my Amiga. Sure, only the B buttons works on an Amiga, but. You try finding a decent 9-pin joystick on Amazon!
"It's me, Mario!" A two second clip. That's literally all we've needed for the past year or so. The fact that we still haven't, yet, is exactly why we're all so worried about how bad this might turn out.
Oh that one. I was thinking the stairs one from the PS1. (IQ..?) Hmmm.. Isn't that on the PlayStation Classic Mini thing? Might have to plug that in and have a play.
Having random seeds generate the world and villagers never hurt Animal Crossing. .. and let's be honest, every ounce of randomness would be a breath of fresh air, each time you replay the game.
@UltraZelda64 I think it's all a case of "we asked MJ to do some music, this is what his team sent us." It probably doesn't matter who originally created it, and all the things we've learned since. It's still under the license that has a big red "let's no longer use this.." sticker on it!
My overriding memory of the original is its bug. If they made the "not really the sequel" into some kind of fourth-wall breaking, purposely glitched out bug fest.. .. you know. That actually might redeem the original, for me.
It's like they went "Look at Hyrule after Calamity Ganon.. What would happen to Sonic's World (whilst point-blank refusing to call it Mobius) after Eggman has done the most damage he possibly can to the landscape..?".. Whilst also forgetting that this would end up with a technically-overwhelmed robotised landscape.
I've not been able to enjoy a 3D sonic since my motion sickness stuff kicked in. The rapid camera movements in that footage make me kinda worried. fingers crossed
@GX_64 I know, right!? Everyone's so focused on the MJ stuff that they've apparently forgotten that this alternative soundtrack already existed decades ago!!
