The heat's back, and we're desperately trying to stay indoors here at Nintendo Life. We've got a round-up of everything that was shown off in the Splatoon 3 Nintendo Direct! Also, were feeling a bit peckish after Kirby's Dream Buffet got a release date. And there's a beautiful hand-drawn Metroidvania featuring cats coming to Switch later this month!
Speaking of Splatoon 3, some of us on the team were a bit worried about the upcoming sequel, but this Direct may have alleviated our worries. We spoke to the team behind indie hit Cult of the Lamb and poked fun at the 'evil Animal Crossing' comparisons. And, apparently, liking Krookodile makes this writer a big crocodile fan (not denying it) — but what does your favourite Pokémon say about you?
Now it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

This weekend I am legitimately stoked to jump into Cult of the Lamb. I bought a bunch of visual novels in the recent eShop sale — 13 Sentinels, and Danganronpa 1 and 2, and I still have to finish AI: The Somnium Files — but those are on hold after I saw the reviews for Cult of the Lamb. I mean, I was already excited about it. And then I did an interview with the art director, and I just got more excited. I love cute stuff and I love murdering people to appease my chthonic patron deity.
Oh, and Portal 2. I finished Portal 1 for Backlog Club already!

Okay, so I’m about 10 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and I’ve just finished Chapter 2. Holy cow, what a game! The cutscenes and battles at the end of Chapter 2 could have easily passed for the finale of any other game; it was unbelievably epic. To say it has its claws in me is an understatement and I can certainly see Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gobbling up my life for weeks at this point, possibly even months.
That’s really it for gaming this weekend. The other thing I’ll be doing is diving into The Complete Witcher series on my Kindle because I recently managed to buy it from Amazon for a grand total of 99p. It’s good so far! Granted, I’m still only on the first book of short stories, so I’m not, like, properly into the narrative yet, but it’ll take some time.

I am spending my weekend going to look at new flats for me to move into, so Moving Out feels like a safe bit of morning play while I get ready for the day — much like you see a professional athlete getting some shots in early to warm up, I will be shouting at my co-op to just pass me the freaking box! (Editor's note: It's a shame you're not playing Jim Is Moving Out!)
It would also be nice to take a break from the world of moving for a while though, which is why I am excited to dive-a-dive back into Live A Live. Despite loving all that I have played so far, I feel that I still haven’t given it the time it deserves and what better way to take a break from housing stress than with Yoko Shimomura’s lush soundtrack?

This week it's — you guessed it — more Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In the space of a week, I've progressed one whole chapter. Just one. I'm in chapter 5 now and I'm still riding a high with this game. I've been trying to level more classes, recruit all of the Heroes, and explore every inch of every map, but the new area I've just reached is huge. I think it'll be a few hours more until I reach the end of the chapter, let alone the end of the game! As Eunie would say, it's sparkin' good!
That's pretty much all that's keeping me out of the heat this weekend — stay cool and safe, folks! Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of ice cream.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

I’ve just started chapter 4 of Xenoblade 3, 25 hours in and loving it so far.
My Steam Deck has just arrived though so I’ll also be setting that up this weekend and might come back to Xenoblade on an upcoming vacation.
This week I will be mostly playing
Sonic Colours
WarioWare Get It Together
This Weekend i'll be playing
Wario World (GC): played it all night, and already at World 4, i'll be able to finish the game tomorrow
Shin Megami Tensei V (NS)
Starting chapter 3 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 tonight. Loving it so far!
This week I've taken a break from Fortnite, and have made more progress in Live Alive. It's a very fun game, and each chapter offers up a lot of variety so if I don't like the style of one I don't have to be stuck in it for long.
Other than that I've decided to pick up Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn books again. Fitting, since partway through the first book I discovered that the main character has appeared in Fortnite despite not having any tv show or movie appearances prior. Will my life forever be linked to Fortnite? I don't know. All I'm going to say is that for now I'm here for it.
Dbd and cult of the lamb. Oh and I’m also trying to get over my fear of fighting games online. By playing and learning sf5 for the first time! I’m enjoying getting my booty handed to me, that’s a good thing right?
Aside from regular games then probably RDR2 on PC, been sitting in my Steam library for too long and haven't started it.
If not that then Pokemon Arceus, bought it on sale few months ago but haven't started either.
More XC3, Switch Sports and MK8 Deluxe. I'm on chapter 5 so far for XC3 and from what I've played so far it's a very likely candidate for my GotY.
I'm "playing" SmileBASIC, where I'm currently midway through getting a brand new edition of JNKPlat up and running.
I guess Flower, Sun, and Rain is a little old hat compared to everything else here
Puyo Tetris 2 online (Tetris League) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online and Super Fantasy Zone on NSO Mega Drive app
Main playthrough atm is Koudelka on PS1, a decent horror themed JRPG. I think I'm some ways into Disc 2 (out of 4). I hear the game is quite short and yeah, I did complete the first fisc in less than 3 hours. Quite enjoying the weapon system and indepth character customization. And of course I'm just a sucker for the PS1 era pre-rendered backgrounds, really good atmosphere and surprisingly well done voice acting for the era on this one.
Have also played some Binding of Isaac, just broke the threshold of beating 300 achievements.
Also tried out the DioField Chronicles demo, was not particularly impressed, if the party size really is limited to just 4 units per battle then I find that the tactical aspects of the game are just too basic, furthermore I really don't like how you're not even allowed an overview of the map or anything so I could actually plan on which units would be useful to bring along. Still do like the general vibe and artstyle of the game, wish Fire Emblem went for a direction that was a bit closer to this.
@Jayenkai Is there many games from other people to play on SmileBasic? I wonder how they compare on the games on Fuze4 which I have (another coding app)
I finished Luigi's Mansion 3 in the week and have just started Streets of Rage 4
Decided to go back, start over, and properly finish Wind Waker so I’ll be sailing, and sailing, and sailing this weekend.
@Clyde_Radcliffe Yeah, there's a fairly large selection available.
Top right button on the main menu, then third tab along, brings up a huge library of everyone's content.
You can filter by genre and then sort by most recent/most downloaded/most liked/etc.
I think the last count I saw was about 2,000 downloadable things, though with the obvious disclaimer than a couple of hundred are going to be "My first code!" types of things. There's definitely some decent quality games in the list.
I played PSP games in the morning after very long time I haven't touched my PSP. 🙂
Back to Rhythm games.
1. Pop'n Music Portable 2
2. Taiko no Tatsujin Portable 2
Then, I played Switch games in the afternoon.
1. Kirby Star Allies
2. Paper Mario Origami King
3. Animal Crossing New Horizons
I'm taking break from playing PS4 as I have been playing Youtubers Life 2 PS4 for straight 4 weeks so I have to take care my other consoles for maintenance or continue the unfinished games.
Still having a blast with Just Cause 3 on my PS4, will start Shredders Revenge since I got the Signature Edition for Switch and some Space Invaders Extreme.
Also playing some Pacman Arcade on my Pacman Arcade machine obviously.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Beat the main story for Xenoblade 3 last night after 130 hours. Fantastic game. Now I just have to go back and complete a ton of side quests which feel never ending in this game. And between that I plan to start playing Astral Chain.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gave me a reason to boot up my Switch after a long time of inactivity. Great series! 1, 2 and 3 are right up there with the best JRPG's ever made. 20 hours in now and loving it!
On chapter 5 of Xenoblade 3. Much more impressive than expected and easily one of the best games of the year!
@Abeedo I really need to start playing fortnight! 🤔😇😂
@Jayenkai Oh wow! Fuze4 has much less, just has a showcase gallery I think and then you need to enter codes found online to play other people's games.
I just returned from a week of tent camping in the mountains, with lots of hikes. So...going back to BotW to simply enjoy the scenery and watch Link climb better than I can. I want to go back to Lonely Mountains Downhill, another game that captures the outdoors so well. And, finally getting to the end of DKTF, this last world is hard!
Happy gaming everyone!
Playing my Steam Deck. I haven't touched my Switch in a month.

1. Octopath Traveler
2. Ender Lillies
3. MotoGP 22
4. One Finger Death Punch 2
Shredders revenge trying to complete the story mode with all the characters and as always recently Andro Dunos 2 going for a 1 credit run but it’s proving to quite difficult excellent games tho
Still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (50 hours) and loving it. GOTY contender definitely. Just started Blue Reflection Second Light on my PS5, I enjoyed it so much on Switch, that I had to pick up the PS4 copy as well. Nothing much on Series X at the moment, mabey the new Saints Row game will change that. We will see.
Have a great weekend everyone! Happy gaming!
First of all happy gaming all and if your in England you should be out enjoying this lovely weather as Mum used to say to me. In the evenings I will be playing 80s overdrive on the Switch and Need for speed on the WII U. Have a good weekend everyone!
Still lots of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Psychonauts 2, for me. Lol
My plan to play The Witcher 3 got sidetracked, and I'm now playing Arcade Paradise and Forza Horizon 2.
Just finished the main story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. What an amazing game. I might need a now a little break now ... but the new game + mode seems intriguing. Might start on monday.
A bit more Windjammers 2 is all I'll have time to fit into my busy weekend. I got my wife into it last weekend and we had a blast. It was the first time I got to enjoy the series with a second player, so I'll definitely indulge again.
Cult of the lamb. Have a great weekend folks, praise the lamb
Currently playing "Will My Vision Last Long Enough to Finish Xenoblade Chronicles 3? The Answer May Shock You!!"
Yeah, it wasn't funny to me either. Long story short, I'm having rapid onset loss of vision in my one working eye tentatively diagnosed as Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy, which the cool kids call NAION. It started a week ago with a small area of fogginess in my peripheral vision, which got bigger and bigger day by day and now covers most of my field of vision. I see okay straight in front of me, only slightly worse than normal, but my field of vision is pitifully small. It's like I'm a kid playing pirates and looking through a paper towel telescope, except I don't say ARRRR so much and it isn't nearly as much fun.
Really hard to play games where things are moving as I can't even see both edges of the screen, whether it's on the TV or in a handheld, so while I've been trying to play XC3 it isn't really working. The one game I'm still okay with is Slay the Spire. I'm sure there are mire options, I jist settled on that for now because it's a game I know really well with very simple graphics.
There is no successful treatment for NAION and it's almost always permanent, so my slim hope is that it isn't actually that. We're still in the process of getting a final diagnosis, I had an MRI yesterday, but the truth is my symptoms and test results match it 100% and there are almost no other conditions that match all those symptoms. So it'a a waiting game (see? I AM playing another game! ARRRR!!) to see how much vision I have left when the process stabilizes.
It's a s****y game and the graphics suck. 1 out of 100, I want my money back.
I'm trying no find a new weapon in Rise. I"ve never once done a mission with ranged weapons. Or maybe the Switch Axe.
The kids and I have been watching a lot of Pokemon TV lately. Season 2 is solid and some of the poketoons were cute.
I feel like doing the last quest in Arceus too.
Just bought xenoblade 3 and live a live a couple of days ago, now I'm playing live a live (since it's shorter than xb3) prehistoric storyline.
It's a bit late but I also bought luigi mansion 3, I think I'll play it after I finished live a live 😃
I also have just finished chapter 2 of xenoblade 3. Don’t even know what to say. Phenomenal
I'm just over 100 hours into Xenoblade 3.
Doing every side quest right now before I beat the final boss.
Should take me a couple more days.
Still working through Elden Ring and Age of Calamity. I'll also have a few credits on some of the games found on Evercade's Jaleco 1 and Gaelco 2 arcade collections.
Just started Chapter 4 of XC3. So far it’s definitely lived up to my expectations
On a big Ridge racer stint at the moment, grinding Ridge racer 3D for cars I missed/skipped. Completing PSP Ridge Racer 2 as I got stuck on some of the harder tracks. I managed to get my hands on a copy of Ridge Racer 6 for Xbox, so playing via BC and discovering what a solid entry that was.
I'll also be tinkering with Steam Deck a little as the verified/playable appears to be meaningless on whether games run or not, for instance MHW playable, but the GPU dies after 40 minutes of play, Castlevania LoS unsupported and runs like a dream on it.
More Xenoblade 3! I didn't have a ton of time to play over the last week, so I just now finished chapter 3. That being said, I'm still absolutely in love with the game so far and I can't wait to keep going!
If I play something it might be Resident Evil 6's Mercenaries mode as it's actually really good, mindless fun. RE6 is somewhat underrated in my opinion; sure it's not a good horror game, but as an action game it actually works really well.
There are a lot of mechanics to play around with and it's not broken if you know how to play it. The campaigns are all a bit of a hit or a miss I admit, but Mercenaries mode is really fun imo.
I’m replaying ocarina after more than a decade… just got the ice arrows. And just got back into Tetris of all things, after not playing it since the original gameboy! Added cult of the lamb and blossom tales 2 to my wish list for next week.
I’m now 80 hours into my first playthrough of Breath of the Wild since, I must admit, giving up about halfway through back at launch. Unlike back then, this time around, I’m absolutely in love with the game.
I think back in 2017, it was just too much of a departure from the tried and trusted Zelda formula for my tastes, and as much as I tried, I couldn’t get over the absence of proper dungeons and items. But with five years to get used to the new direction for the beloved series, I’m having a blast and struggling to put the game down.
In between longer Zelda sessions, I’m also finishing off Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which has been a lot of fun. I should have that wrapped up before the weekend is over. After mostly playing PS5 for the past twelve months, I’m back into my Switch in a big way. Both in handheld mode and on the TV.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. I'm about 35 hours in and on Chapter 7.
I wish some of the things you have to find to rebuild Colony 6 weren't so hard to find at times, which does make the whole process less entertaining than I anticipated, but I'm still enjoying the game otherwise.
I'm catching up on a lot of my backlog. I've started up Donkey Kong Country 3 again and am.....surprisingly enjoying it so far (a far cry from when I played it last), have finally picked WinBack Covert Ops back up again after getting past the level that made me drop it in the first place (seriously: PLAY WINBACK. IT'S SO GOOD) and am on the final note hunt in order to beat Banjo Kazooie for the first time. Apart from that then, I've started up Street Fighter Alpha 2 after beating Alpha 1 a few days ago (and yep: it's basically the same.....but better) and have been flipping between Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's DLC and Pokemon Shield as well. Overall, a very packed weekend.
BLAZBLUE CENTRALFICTION Special Edition — completed Arcade Mode playing as Hakumen.
CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE- — completed Arcade Mode playing as Rui.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour — finished 2nd level of 1st episode and began playing 3rd.
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[cl-r] — finished "A Saint Appears" episode by completing 2nd and 3rd chapters(3 chaps in total).
That's all what I've played on this week. Have a nice gaming weekend, everyone.
@BinaryMessiah love the look of your steam deck mate is that a half life wrap or has it been painted
Please don’t hate me, but I think I’m about to throw the towel in on Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It’s the first XC game I’ve played, and have so far put in around 9 hours. Even though it drip feeds you tutorials, the combat system is just too much for my middle-aged brain! Arts, talent arts, master arts, classes, fusion…🤯 can anyone convince me to keep on playing?
Still Ever Oasis on 3DS and Into the Breach on iPad. When I get back home from hols in a couple of days I might start Bioshock on Switch, or I might play a bit of Splat 2 in preparation for 3 coming out, and tackle Bioshock a little later. Decisions decisions! I imagine work will be full on after 3 and a half weeks away so maybe neither for a little while…
I finally beat Sunbreak so on to endgame quests.
But now I am all about Cult of the Lamb. It’s like if Animal Crossing was built like a game, was fun, and was satanic. This will be among my top 3 of the year. Best part is I only learned about it two days ago so no anticipatory waiting!
@Nightcrawler71 I cannot. Go play Cult of the Lamb
Live A Live! It's weird and I love it
Cult of the Lamb and Arcade Paradise on PC. Chose PC because the game will not be lost when a new Nintendo console comes out. Also playing Sekerio on PS5. 60fps and the game is brutal and beautiful.
I have a hernia and I’m unable to lift ten pounds as I await surgery, so this weekend I’ll be keeping busy playing:
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - At first, I was liking the game but wasn’t really feeling it (pun intended). It wasn’t until midway through chapter 3, when side (Hero) quests started popping up and my tune changed immediately. Those quests are multi faceted, and have some of the best story beats in the game (and they are optional!). I’m now partially through chapter 4 and this has easily become one of my top games of the year, and without a doubt my favorite JRPG so far. I can attest with the review here at Nintendolife and Eurogamer - this game is a JRPG masterpiece.
I’m also playing Cult of the Lamb. I’m maybe two hours in total, but it’s really fun so far. It blends several rogue-likes together such as Hades, Slay the Spire, Hollow Knight (in voice acting from characters), and the Binding of Isaac, all the while providing charming life simulation mechanics similar to Animal Crossing. Unfortunately, the performance isn’t the greatest, but it does run at a consistent 30 frames per second. Hopefully, some patches in the future can remedy that.
Last weekend I was able to binge MH Rise, finished the last of the 1-5☆ village quests, and kind of hit a wall? I guess to progress now I have to do some hub quests, or get over my fear of online multiplayer?
This weekend time is limited, though, so maybe just some short bursts of TMNT Shredder’s Revenge or Super Mario Picross in the evenings.
Wishing everyone a fun weekend!
@Gs69 Half-Life skin
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - On chapter 3. Definitely enjoying the game so far! Neat main cast, wacky plot, great music, HUGE landscapes to explore....I'll be busy with this one for awhile yet.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii U via Wii Mode) - Diving into a couple of stages every now and again when I don't have proper time to sink into XC3. A charming platformer, if a bit on the easy side.
Pokemon Go (Mobile) - I'm planning to get out for Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day. At least it's one of the more striking shinies!
Happy gaming!
@JasmineDragon
I was born in the early 70s and I’m constantly reaching for my reading glasses now. We certainly do take our vision and health for granted in our younger years…
In your shoes, there is no way I could summon the kind of humor and strength I sense from your post. I sincerely hope you get a better prognosis, and your situation improves soon.💜
If you tire of the Spire, maybe Picross would be accessible for you? It’s just static grids you uncover gradually, like Minesweeper, so they’re not the most exciting games. They’re satisfying in a way, though. I think there are free demo versions on the eshop, and Super Mario Picross is in the SNES app on NSO (if you don’t mind the Japanese text.).
Arcade parsdise of course. Was looking forward to it and thensuddenly it appeared!
Mainly XC3. I’m an hour or two into chapter 3, and man…it’s good.
Also, I picked up those Namco Museum Archives games for $5 each a week or so ago, so I’m having fun of those when I need a Xenoblade break. Just discovered Dragon Spirit last night. Whoa, that game kinda rules.
Been away on vacation this week so it’s all Switch everything. I’m on the final chapter in Live A Live & the grind has been a welcome change pace whilst maintaining interest. Finished off Panzer Dragoon Remake & I must say it was quite the delight in short bursts. Took my talents to Dig Dug II & sprinkling in some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe booster pass cups on top of some Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak quests
Happy gaming everyone !
Xenoblade 3. I'm barely into chapter 3 or at least it feels like it, it's a good game definitely has that Xenoblade-y feel when you're out exploring. But it's easily the weakest game in the series. At least so far anyway. But the start to this story is so generic with it's "war is bad" theme and so aimless as it tries to find any reason it can to bring the two parts of the main group together without explaining anything that's actually going on. Both 1 and 2 gave you the basic gist of whats going on while still keep some mysteries for later reveals perfectly. And the villains, dear lord, did they choose to go with the most cookie cutter villains yet. The main cast is already the most generic yet but would they really throw you some generic villains to fight on top too?
The music is by far my biggest gripe. It's a Xenoblade game, they're supposed to come with a phenomenal soundtrack. What happened? Apart from that, the landscapes aren't anywhere near 2's beautiful titans and don't seem to even hold a candle to 1's. Combat is extremely slow even slower than 1, and the orbs system in 2 was way more fun than the revamped chain attack system. There's a bunch more but honestly I'd be lying if I said I wasn't still enjoying most of my time with it, which is only about 20 hrs so I'm expecting it to get much better later on. So yea looking forward to playing more this weekend lmao
I'm just trying to power through the remaining 30 minutes or so of monster boy so I can solely focus on xenoblade chronicles 3.
I'll be continuing XC2: Torna - The Golden Country and dipping in and out of MK8D. I've been feeling like playing some NES games so I may hit up a couple on NSO. Also Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 and the DioField Chronicle have demos, so I'll be checking those out too.
I'm 62 hours into Xenoblade 3 now and I'm pretty early into chapter 6! I'm amazed at how much fun I've been having with the side content!
After side questing all week I decided to move forward with the plot in XC3. Just wrapped up Ch 5 and early Ch 6 and holy smokes that was an experience! I thought I was going to just play for about 1-2 hours Friday night but I got super captivated ended up playing for 7 hours (it was bloody 4:30am by the time I wrapped up and realized I should go to bed)! I'm about 75 hours in now and man I'm shaking by how good the game has gotten.
Nintendo did the right thing delaying BOTW 2. There's no way it would have had room alongside XC3 this year. If you are not playing this game you are seriously missing out!
Nothing too much on the Switch this weekend. I do want to try to get back into Monster Hunter Rise though.
Cult of the Lamb on my Series S, waiting for Cursed to Golf on the switch
This weekend I’ll be playing some more of the post-game for Kirby FL and also starting No More Heroes 3. Clearing that backlog ahead of splatoon 3!
Me
Me + Wife
I’ve taken a break from my Breath of the Wild Korok hunt for the time being. I’ll definitely get it done before the sequel releases, but as of now I’m going to be playing other games. Right now I’m playing Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time and I’m enjoying it for the most part, but I’m really excited to get to some of the later entries like 3 and Infinite. I’ve also been playing plenty of Splatoon 2 after the Splatoon 3 Direct and I’m having a blast.
So I am kinda sad at myself, because this week, I gave up on finishing Final Fantasy 7. I’m at a point in the game where I do not have any idea where I have to go next, and it doesn’t really help that the combat doesn’t really click with me. I loved the story, music, and characters of this game, but this game taught me that real time RPGs are not really my thing. I am happy I got to at least try it, though!
So now, I’m currently revisiting my favorite RPG, Dragon Quest XI S. I hadn’t played it since early 2021, so it feels really good to be back in the world of Erdrea! I’m playing with tough monsters on, and I plan to complete all of the Draconian options in the future.
Other than that, I might play some TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. I got my butt handed to me by the Rat King on Gnarly difficulty last night, and I intend on getting payback! Happy gaming!
Nothing I'm enjoying the sunshine here in Ireland now. It's far too nice a day to be stuck indoors playing video games. I'll probably play Sonic Rush this evening though when the sun goes down as after all these years I'm nearly finished with it and that 7th Special Stage can burn in the deepest depths of hell. After Sonic Rush I'll play some Hollow Knight followed by Metal Gear Solid 5 if I'm in the mood. This warm spell just saps the energy out of you.
@Diogmites
Thank you for the tip! I’ve been ignoring the hub quests as I imagined they were geared for multiplayer and a slog to do solo.
Also I just wanted to add I’m jealous of all the Arcade Paradise players this weekend! 😤
I’d be with you but I have to wait for my preorder to deliver.
CrisTales - this was on a great sale so I finally picked it up. I'm undecided about the combat, but I love the art sooo much
Picross S7 - also grabbed on sale. The Color Picross levels are kind of melting my mind but it's fun.
Unbound: worlds apart - a fun puzzle platformer masquerading as a metroidvania. This has been on my backlog for awhile and I'm really enjoying it now that I'm getting deeper in.
I'm also very tempted by cult of the lamb but the wildly different reviews confuse me so I'm waiting for the NintendoLife review.
Playing through the first Bayonetta...struggling through chapter IX. Should be able to finish AI: The Somnium Files this weekend. Will also continue MLB The show francise and road to the show.
@Teksetter Thank you, that's actually a great suggestion. I've played a little Picross on the DS and it never really lit my fire, but I desperately need ideas for games I'll be able to play right now, and this might work. My beloved shmups have turned into total nightmares and there's just too much going on in most good RPGs.
At the moment, I'm so annoyed that I probably won't be able to play Cult of the Lamb after hearing so much about it. Guess I need to get used to that.
Gonna chack out the new Mario Kart courses. And I got a series S so some of that with a side of Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Going to be doing some more Xenoblade chronicles 3 and read some Island. Not too much since my leg is messed up and I am laid out
As far as the Nintendo Switch goes, I’m currently playing Unravel Two, with my wife. I’ve also been playing Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove as well. On the PS4 side of things, there is MultiVersus that I’m playing at the moment.
Also, the Zigzagoon community day event, in Pokemon Go.
Im playing Xenoblade 3 this weekend and was planning on buying Mortal Kombat 11 from Walmart today
Two point campus
Trying to polish off Persona 4 Golden before Soul Hackers 2 comes out
Just turned 18 on Friday, would play Danganronpa and Ace Attorney but @Scooby-Doo is currently hogging my switch so much I'm now waiting for an Oled model to arrive.
Monster hunter rise sunbreak new monsters were just added and more to come to keep me busy forging all the rare 10 greatswords and armors before the next wave of dlc comes with more monsters.
Well I finally finished KH Re: Chain of Memories a couple weeks ago, so looking to dive into either Days or KH2 later today. Leaning towards KH2 for my weekend with Days being on the weekdays after work right now.
I've been looking to go back to Three Hopes and the first Great Ace Attorney, because both really need to be finished, but I've also got to just buckle down and finish Spirit of Justice, so I may do that tomorrow afternoon. Either way, some Kingdom Hearts is definitely in my future this weekend.
Cult of the Lamb has some performance issues, and several soft lock bugs that can halt progression. I've had to restart my entire game once and scared at least twice more that I may have to restart again. However all this said I am absolutely enjoying the game and once patched it may become a contender for my game of the year
Enjoyed the sun all day. Tomorrow I will continue with Lego Skywalker Saga. I finished every story level 100% and I am happy I did not watch the latest movies. It is good the game does not take itself serious anyway. Still I will pass anything Star Wars from now on. And propably Disney.
Doing the Galaxy maps now and really enjoying it.
Just got home from a roadtrip where me and a buddy picked up a beautiful CRT tv. A 69kg Bang & Olufsen. Hopefully i'll never need to move it again lol
Gonna start a link to the past/super metroid randomizer to test it out
Danganronpa 2 (Switch), Digital Devil Saga 2 (PS3 via PS2 Classics), Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (Vita) , Etrian Odyssey 1, 2 or 4 (3DS), Persona Q (3DS) or Silent Hill (Vita or PS3 via PS1 Classics). One of those for sure.
Ok, ended up playing a bit of Ion Fury (a modern Build engine "Duke Nukem 3D clone" actually published by 3D Realms Entertainment themselves), because I discovered I could choose any chapter I wanted and thereby skip the near impossible (even on easy difficulty) end of chapters bosses (the game lacks a good weapon wheel like in Quake, but it's a great game otherwise imo).
This sort of made my day as I had run out of other games to play And there's a lot of content in the game with 7 chapters consisting of 28 levels plus 3 bonus chapters (each with several levels too) as well.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
Hopefully finish the epilogue of Trials of Mana. Maybe a little Narita Boy if I get the chance.
I've been trying to finish off paper mario 64 online whilst on a sunbed in tenerife. Easier said than done when you have to keep entering the sewer levels in bright sunlight!! My other current game of three houses was mainly a no go area. Still not complaining.
LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game (PS2) - Busy weekend so far, but trying to finish up Episode III in coop with my son.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Nearly halfway with my monthly medals.
Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Windows Phone) - Playing here and there still.
@garfreek You should. It's a good game by yourself, but it's even better with friends. I'd strongly recommend it.
@Teksetter
Yeah after you complete the Village Quests the Hub Quests are the next objective. I know the multiplayer aspect sounds a bit intimidating but rest assured it’s really the true heart of the game. The MH community are a great supportive bunch…don’t worry if you faint during an online quest…it’s all apart of the game! To be honest there are some quests that are made much easier not to mention more fun when completing them in multiplayer. Hunting online is truly one of the best features, if not the best part of the Monster Hunter series.
@Link41x
Now I’m curious! Do you play any games on Switch or any other Nintendo systems! You typically post about playing non Nintendo games on non Nintendo devices. It appears you have a very distinct affinity for mobile gaming? I could be wrong lol!
I've just arrived in chapter 5 of Xenoblade 3. Approaching 40 hours of playtime. I've done quite a few side quests so far, and I agree with the article published here over the weekend that they are high quality. Whether you need to do them all is an open question, but certainly the yellow quests all seem vital. At the rate I'm going I'm thinking I may near the end within another couple of weeks. Far faster than I expected to get through the game.
I have just finished the story on Xenoblade 3. I recommend anyone to play even if it is not your usual bag.
First JRPG in 25 years as I was waiting something that could be better than FF7. For me, it is.
What a bloody game that is and a masterpiece alongside Returnal, Hades, FF6/7, Bloodbourne, Dead Cells, Civilisation, Last of Us 1/2, Slay the Spire and Witcher 3.
I am yet to play RDR2 or Elden Ring though in 40 years Xenoblade 3 joins the list.
I will play through again next year on hard to finish in time for the probably massive December 2023 expansion.
Bon weekend all!
@Rainz I'm all over the place for work, so I've just been playing alot of mobile games lately. I've been fully bitten by the retro bug these past few years and have been enjoying multiplayer again with my kids especially on the Nintendo 64. I'm also trying to beat all the games on my Windows Phone before it dies and I lose them all.
Mega late to the weekend party.
Had a cracking weekend on XC3, it really is the best of the series. The writing is superb.
I bought Cult of the Lamb but won’t play until at least Xeno is finished.
And Monster Hunter Rise, jeez the game is almost too big now to get round to everything. Won’t stop me from trying though
Tetris Connected in between. Fricking love that game.
This week I finished Dragon Quest IV and Metroid Fusion, both of them were on my backlog for way too long so I am happy now.
Started Pokemon Sword, I am about to get my 5th gym badge and I am enjoying it very much although I found the beginning pretty slow. Want to finish it before the new one comes out. Happy gaming!!
I’m still going strong with my second Xenoblade DE play through. I’m somehow already 40 hours in and on chapter 8. Xenoblade 3 is staring at me and calling my name from my shelf, but I’m determined to not rush with DE like I did the first time.
