Hi-Rez Studios and developer First Watch Games have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming team shooter, Rogue Company.
The new video gives us a look at some of the action, tactics, and locations you'll find within the game, including fast-paced gameplay and a whole lot of sassy remarks from the playable characters, including some slightly questionably accents.
It's set to launch on the same day across all current platforms this summer, with cross-platform play promised for all users. It looks like it may well deliver more of the top-rate shooter action Hi-Rez fans are used to, and the game's executive producer, Chris Larson, seems pretty excited to get it into the hands of players:
“We're tired of grown-up shooters being overly serious. Rogue Company matches a modern, high-style universe with tight, tactical action gameplay. The alpha testers are loving it and we can't wait to welcome more of you in as we gear up for launch!"
No specific release date has been confirmed for this one just yet, so we'll leave you with this quick, official description. Feel free to share your thoughts on the game in the comments below.
Taking on million dollar contracts from governments and special interests, Rogue Company is a vigilante force going where governments can’t to stop credible and imminent threats. Relying on public opinion and popular support, many Rogues embrace their newfound celebrity. Elite, sexy and paid, Rogue Company operates between the lines and on the run.

The tone looks like it has potential to provide some enjoyable humour; but the gameplay looks like team-based multiplayer centric gameplay so that’s a pass from me.
Sweet, I'll be watching for this one.
Oh i want this! So many games coming that i want.
When is the release?
I clicked on this article expecting another warfare game I don’t care about but all of a sudden I’m looking forward to this
@The-Chosen-one This year. We don't know any more details. They are often giving away alpha keys but only for PC, Xbox and PS tho. I believe Nintendo won't let you put a game in the store unless its released. Thats why we dont really have early access games.
Yeah... this just looks like an overly serious take on stuff like TF2. I'll wait for review s, but I don't think it's for me.
(And speaking of Valve, Half-Life Switch when?)
The fact they put cut scenes in between the gameplay is annoying. I think it woukd actually make a difference if characters interacted with actions by other players and make comments depending on the win loss scenario. However, I'm certain it will just be another online shooter.
The new LawBreakers LOL!
Holy cow this looks like resetera and sjw garbage hard pass.
@Jaalsky what exactly does look like a sjw garbage?
Just another wannabe Fortnite, how original.
@mesome713 Lol wut? Wannabe Fortnite?
This looks like it could be fun; It’s got a MW x Payday kind of vibe to it.
And I don’t think some of you commenters watched the same thing I did. SJW? Fortnite? Weird conclusions.
@HobbitGamer 4 teammates jumping out of the air, the shooting animations are more cartoon than realistic, and the whole knockdown thing too. Also the comedy approach. You can tell it's going after the Fortnite crowd.
I hate all this fortnite inspired junk.
This game looks, and plays nothing like fortnite lol. It looks pretty unique with its own style. I wonder if this has a story mode? Or is just online?
Just a reminder that these are the guys who screwed up Tribes: Ascend. Don't trust them.
@mesome713 Or...Team Fortress.
@HobbitGamer Never really played that one.
@mesome713 Or PUBG, which also came before Fortnite.
Not a fan of timed shooters.
@HobbitGamer Never really played that one either. If it came to Switch maybe would have tried it.
Hi-Rez games may not be perfect but they support the Switch. And it's impressive what they can do with the comparably small dev teams they have. Paladins (currently my favorite on Switch) only has a team of about 50 people. That includes those who do art stuff like skins. If they had AAA teams and resources, they'd be a top tier dev.
@mesome713 actually, Realm Royale was going for the Fortnite crowd.
I think I could get behind this! Can’t wait!
