For the safety of everyone, and particularly society's most vulnerable, a very clear message is being spread around the world at the moment: stay home.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) is having a huge impact on all aspects of life, but game developer Rare is doing its bit to help get that all-important message across. How has it chosen to do that, you ask? Well, via the medium of Banjo-Kazooie's Treasure Trove Cove floor puzzle, of course.
The studio has taken to Twitter to share a short clip of the bird and bear pounding tiles to spell 'STAY HOME'. Under normal circumstances, the player must spell 'BANJO KAZOOIE' to solve the puzzle.
The tweet appears to have received more replies demanding a Switch port of the game than messages of appreciation (go figure) but we thought it was a cool way to promote the advice.
Thinking about it, playing Banjo-Kazooie for the 3,000th time might not be a bad way to spend this period of isolation.

Bring Banjo Home!
You've unlocked a cheat!
Tootie is safe at Banjo's house! You can skip the Quiz Time game and head straight for the final battle!
Next time they should write down: "BRING BANJO HOME", meaning they should sell the IP to Nintendo. Or to another publisher that might can use them better. How about Activision? They almost bought Rare themselves and they made a lot of money with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.
Retro Studios would be a good studio to reinvent Banjo-Kazooie. We all know Rare doesn't have the talent anymore.
Hey if you port BK to switch I would enjoy staying in a lot more. Hint hint.
@Desa F Banjo let Nintendo release 007
That's so silly, no one knows who they are.
I still think they should remake Kazooie and Tooie from the ground up, Crash style. Either throw a remake of Gruntys Revenge (with a Banjo Pilot myltiplayer mode) or throw a remaster of Nuts and Bolts to make it a trilogy pack. I know a lot of people didnt like it, but I think its still a good game, even if it's not really a "Banjo Kazooie" game.
@AnnoyingFrenzy I also enjoyed Nuts & Bolts. It was graphically gorgeous, to boot!
@HobbitGamer It was! My favorite land in terms of visuals was either Showdown Town or BanjoLand. The car building was actually pretty robust as well, there was a lot of creativity one could employ to overcome the challenges presented.
Switch port please
And of course, stay home!!
How bout you bring Rare Replay to the Switch instead, Rare?
"Now Banjo will cease spreading the corona disease"
Or just give us the remakes for switch, then we would stay inside more
@RareFan You do realize that can't do that right? They are owned by MS, that could get someone in trouble.
they wont bring Banjo home cause with Switch you may be tempted to take it outside
It's actually better for everyone if you don't stay home, but let's all continue not using logic and blindly follow our government orders and keep hitting those panic buttons.
Regardless, I'd love to see Banjo back home and it's even more possible now with Microsoft taking Xbox 3rd party recently.
They should port Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie to the Switch.
Need to fix my XBox 360 so I can play the HD version of Banjo Kazooie, wouldn't want to play with a N64 controller now. It's probably just a dusty fan on the inside which is stopping it from working but I'm still reluctant to take it apart.
I'm all for a Switch port of Rare Replay though.
I’d rather they just kept working on Sea of Thieves. Which is both better and more popular than Banjo ever was.
Don’t get me wrong. I’d love a Banjo remake. But I would rather that was done by a smaller team elsewhere. Rare build massive expensive AAA projects. Which this wouldn’t be
"To stay at home"
Wich is not Microsoft HQ, lol!
