Re: Review: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil - A Painfully Incomplete Version Of An N64 Classic

HappyMaskedGuy

Considering that the multiplayer of Turok 2 was always a poorly executed afterthought, which Iguana more than made up for with Rage Wars, the exclusion here is honestly nothing.

I really can’t make sense of all these people whining, unless they’ve muddled up Turok 2’s lacklustre multiplayer with Rage Wars?

In all honesty, to award this game 6/10 is a complete joke, and a huge injustice to such an excellent single player experience. What did you guys give Crash flipping Bandicoot again?

Just plain ridiculous, NLife. As per.

Re: Turok 2 On Nintendo Switch Doesn't Include Multiplayer

HappyMaskedGuy

I love Turok 2, but the multiplayer was absolutely the worst part of the game, so I’m not bothered with its exclusion here. I’d rather see Rage Wars— a far superior multiplayer experience.

The single player campaign of Turok 2 was an incredible technical achievement for its time, and via this faithful port, the game still holds up extremely well today.

Where’s your review guys? One of the best FPS adventures of all time just launched on the eShop. Hop to it.

@Zuljaras
Having a mental condition has nothing to do with being abusive or aggressive.

People with aspergers are just as likely to be overtly kind and helpful. Choosing to latch onto a negative trait, instead of positive ones, perpetuates an unjust phobia against people who need your support and understanding—not blanket negative assumptions about them based on their disabilities.

Re: Fake Nintendo Switch Game Piracy Software Is Bricking Systems

@Adamapple Yeah, I agree. I felt that the backlash was disproportionate, and unprofessional on the part of Nintendo Life. It looked a lot to me like online bullying, which I can’t imagine is good for the site’s public image as a family friendly site. Yeah, the guy criticised the writing—cry me a river. It’s called a thick skin, and it’s a well known prerequisite in journalism.

I honestly think NLife should apologise for this poor conduct. It leaves a very poor impression.

@AlexOlney
@djfuts

To provide an impartial perspective on this, I believe @djfuts is in fact correct.

To clarify: ‘Acts’ in the context of this sentence means the plural form of the word ‘Act’. The grammar means, undisputedly, more than one act.

What it should say, in the context of the sentence, is:

'This act’s a reminder that it’s simply not worth the risk when it comes to pirating games on the Nintendo Switch.'

The correct form is ‘act’s’, meaning
‘act is’.

Sorry @AlexOlney, but you are wrong about that one.

Did you perhaps read the sentence wrong, as:

‘This acts as a reminder....’

as in the verb, ‘to act’?

Re: Dark Souls: Remastered Will Still Have An Early Network Test

HappyMaskedGuy

Nintendo will not be happy about this either. I hope they make some angry phone calls, preferably an unannounced site visit.

Nonsense like this hurts the Switch. AAA third party titles need to be seen as having equal priority, otherwise people won’t bother with the Switch version. Which means the Switch will pale in significance.

This is serious, and it needs a robust response.

Re: Dark Souls: Remastered Will Still Have An Early Network Test

HappyMaskedGuy

@SwitchVogel Agreed. If they are going to delay it for one specific audience, they should at least be humble and respectful enough to provide a legitimate reason for the delay, instead of a smart ass copout excuse like ‘causality’.

It does nothing but make them appear arrogant and even mocking of their consumer base.

Customer is always right. Not sure who their PR guy is, but someone needs fired.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

HappyMaskedGuy

@Kirgo What are you talking about?
They could ask about these things in literally any interview with the company.

This is the problem with games journalism. The desire not to rock the boat has killed any investigative, interrogative elements whatsoever, and this is BAD for consumers.

If they expect you to buy into their products, they should also respect and be open to questioning, especially by a videogame news outlet.

Influence shouldnt affect journalistic integrity. It’s not in the public interest.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.2 Is Now Live

Can somebody at Nintendo Life please investigate why exactly we aren’t getting really painfully obvious features such as the ones stated in this article?

It seems like there is an awful lot of conjecture and a lot of simply putting up with the ridiculous.

Arent you guys in a position to lobby the desires and concerns of Nintendo fans to the company themselves?
