Re: Billy Mitchell Threatens To Take Legal Action Against High-Score Sanctioning Bodies

HappyMaskedGuy

@DinnerAndWine So you’re saying that it isn’t possible to have a ‘life’ (I’d like you to elaborate on what you mean by that too) and opinions on many different things at one time, even something as inconsequential as this?

I find it very hard to believe that you are ignorant of the term ‘special’ when describing the mentally disabled in patronising or insulting terms.

As I said. You’re spineless. Dishonest too.

@MrGawain @brunojenso @Lizuka @PaperLucario @mist @quinnyboy58 @Shade_Koopa @suikoden

The juvenilia on display from all of you is beyond embarrassing.

Firstly, what world records do any of you hold? Are you good at anything at all?
Who are you to judge what does and does not count as being ‘worthwhile’?

When you are the best in the world at something, maybe offer an opinion. Until then, get a grip.

What is football? What is golf? What is any endeavour in the end? A game. Nothing more.

This man has poured hours of his life into something that matters to HIM, and he has achieved something none of you will. You know his name. He will never know yours.

Also, what he looks like is completely irrelevant to anything. Learn to stop assessing people based on your own derogatory judgemental nonsense.

Honestly, what age are you guys? Are you in Nursery school yet?

Every one of you needs some intensive real-world experience. Some manners wouldn’t go amiss either. Or humility.

Re: Nintendo Just Teased A Brand New Fitness Experience For The Switch

HappyMaskedGuy

it looks like Nintendo wants to get into yoga or at least something fitness-related on the Switch.

This doesn’t look like yoga—more a series of vigorous exercise challenges/ games based on balance and basic fitness. Yoga is primarily about strength and flexibility, with fixed postures and slow movements.

Where do guys pull this stuff out of? Are you in too much of a rush or something?

There's a cynical, cheeky part of us that reckons if you'd wanted to have played it by now, you probably would have done so

I’m confused—is the writer aware that she’s talking to the Nintendo community?

Not everyone can afford more than one console at a time, you know. We can’t always access every game on every platform. But you go ahead and judge folk’s motivations and make baseless assumptions about them anyway. What can go wrong?

There’s a cynical, cheeky part us (how many of you is there, by the way?) that reckons somebody is talking nonsense.

@Simon_Fitzgerald The difference is that cormorants look cool, almost prehistoric. Especially their spectacular turquoise/ jade coloured eyes. Look them up, they’re unreal.

Cramorant (waw, terrible name) captures none of the charm, characteristics or beauty of the real animal, whilst also failing to add any fictional charm either.

It’s a less fantastical and less interesting creature than the real animal it’s based on. An absolute failure of design.

Re: Review: Astral Chain - Platinum's Best Game Ever? You'd Better Believe It

HappyMaskedGuy

@Mr_Muscle I won’t lie, I don’t agree with your initial comment—but I DO share your scepticism of a lot of games journalism.

But what really, really irks me is this pathetically childish behaviour, as demonstrated by the NLife staff here, of professional writers getting butthurt and defensive when one of their customers shares an opinion which they don’t like.

It’s laughably unprofessional.

Re: Review: Astral Chain - Platinum's Best Game Ever? You'd Better Believe It

HappyMaskedGuy

@Damo @antdickens
The fact that both of you came wading out into the comments to argue with one of your own readers speaks volumes about your lack of professional integrity.

Someone said something you don’t like about one of your articles—which you get paid to write—and you spit your collective dummies about it? Aww, cry me a river.

Did you, as professional journalists, consider that that particular reader may have mental issues? May be depressed? Do you think it wise to attempt to publicly humiliate, alienate, or mock them? Are you really so petty and insecure?

If you post work and invite people to comment, you have to expect to hear things that you might not like.

@Mr_Muscle may be incorrect, but at least he conducted himself like an adult, unlike you two.

Time to grow up.

Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release

@BarefootBowser I agree, less plastic and packaging and waste is definitely the future. Absolutely. But the prospect of losing anything culturally significant because of a company shutting down, or a government easily censoring a product, doesn’t do much for me either. What about the people who never get to experience Odyssey? Is depriving them of that fair? Of course the environmental element takes priority, no question. But all the same...

Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release

HappyMaskedGuy

@BarefootBowser
‘I don't see games as the be all and end all. If at some point in the future I can't play super mario odyssey I won't worry about it.’

Honestly, that is such a tired rebuttal. To strawman my position by implying that ‘playing games’ is the only thing that I care about, or that it features remotely high in my priorities, is weak and disingenuous.I can have an opinion on something as trivial as games, as well as disagreeing with bigger topics like, say, eating meat.

Physical videogame production doesn’t tend to feature highly in the worst environmental activities. If you’re going to use that as an argument, I’d expect you to also be vegan, never fly in a plane, never use disposable plastics, never drive, and choose not to have kids. Maybe you do qualify in that regard. But otherwise, it would be hypocritical to use environmental impact as an argument in the discussion.

@Shade_Koopa
I find it so weird when people pro-actively set out to ruin things for themselves by shilling for companies like SE who have zero interest in their customer’s best interests.

Here’s an allegory:

Rhinos are on the verge of extinction. But they’re going to go extinct in the future, so let’s just get on with wiping them out—why fight?

Same ridiculous logic.

Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release

@graysoncharles

Rolls eyes

I honestly don’t think you understand the argument for ownership. It’s not an ‘OCD’ thing (nice of you to use a genuine mental health problem as an insult, by the way, classy) but more of an issue of lasting access.

Have you ever heard of a little demo called P.T? The problem with digital is that a publisher can either choose to remove the content for access, or the publisher goes down the toilet—meaning that YOU, super smart consumer, will not be able to play the game, or even access it, despite having paid for it.

So yeah, think the whole thing through first, before fanboying and insulting CLEVER PEOPLE.
