Re: Publishers Are "Thanking" Nintendo For Game-Key Cards On Switch 2

Game-Key carts are the main reason why I'm not buying a S2. If Nintendo changes their stance on this, so will I. Otherwise, I'm ready to call it quits.

Not even angry about it. In fact, quite the opposite. This watershed moment makes me realize I need to appreciate what I got, plunge into my S1 backlog, play my old consoles and relax.

Life is good.

I was SO looking forward the Switch 2 but the game-keys completely killed my buzz I thought (hoped) the S2 would simply be a better Switch so I was completely blindsided by all these unnecessary and unwanted changes.

128GB and 256GB carts are possible, they exist. Nintendo can make them at a reasonable price, they have the means. They won't because they want to get rid of physical games. And that is very depressing, on so many levels. But the worst of it all is that it feels like a betrayal from the last company that "seemed" to care.

The Switch 2 is the final bridge crossing from the physical games world towards digital games world and I'm not ready to take it. Not interested in that world.

I cherish my Switch 1. I'm going to keep it, take care of it and play it for a long time. But the Switch 2 is for the next generation. I understand. But it still depressing

"We don't mind its inclusion..." I DO! It's UGLY and UNNECESSARY! Of all the reasons why I'm not buying a S2, this one is not number 1 but it's definitely in the Top 10.

Games are collectible objects in themselves. There's a reason why UAE, Euro and UK versions don't fetch the same prices as US versions. UTTERLY STUPID!

Re: Talking Point: Can Sony And Microsoft Really Compete With Nintendo In A New 'Handheld War'?

I'm old (Hello Boomer, yes I know) and I just came back to gaming after a long hiatus. Back then, my game was Halo. Countless hours in LAN battles with the friends on Halo 2. Them LAN days are over.

Coming back, the choice was easy. Nintendo, all the way. For 3 reasons mainly: Games, Games and Games.

That's what matters to me most. FUN games that provide harmless escapism with endless replay value.

Even if the big 3 made portables, they can't succeed because Nintendo has 2 big advantages over anybody else :

1. Tons of stellar IPs.
2. Much cheaper and easier entry point to play fun games.

To me, the portability factor is just icing on the cake but not the main reason.

Buying a Xbox or PS rig, with the often required costly yearly membership, is just too darn expensive. And I don't care about the free games they provide on their respective "passes", they are 99% uninteresting to me.

I just want to play fun games, based on classic IPs, that aren't about lifelike wars and killing, and to not be sucked into an expensive rollercoaster ride that needs a second mortgage.

Nintendo every day and twice on Sunday!

P.S. I still play my GBA. Good games are fun to play forever.
