Re: The FunKey S Is A Handheld Console That Fits On Your Keyring

Grayjedi13

I know it's small but, honestly most Gameboy or even gba games would probably look just fine on this size screen. I am pretty skeptical about PlayStation games on this thing though. In any event $73 feels a touch high for Pokemon on a keychain, which is probably all I'd use it for. If it were like $45-50 I might bite.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei III Is Coming To Nintendo Switch Alongside The Fifth Game

Grayjedi13

@Hobbesyall Yes and No. My understanding is that the SMT games are set in the same universe as persona. A lot of the combat mechanics, are the same or similar. However the story, at least in SMT IV, progresses in a more typical fashion and doesn't have the social story elements that the persona games have. The difficulty level is also a bit higher in my opinion.

All that said, who knows exactly what they'll do on SMT V. The switch has a lot more power than the 3DS after all, and it seems like JRPGs these days have started to adapt more modern gaming standards. Which in my opinion is a very good thing, and a long time coming.

Re: Old Star Wars Episode I: Racer N64 Glitch Still Works On Switch

Grayjedi13

@backup368 Pretty sure it is the PC version. The graphics look like it anyways.

I played hours and hours of this game on my old iMac as a kid, so I totally don't mind having a portable version of this on the switch. It's not a hard game (mostly), but it's a fun game and holds up very well honestly.

Re: Metroid Fan Film Seeks Crowdfunding For Completion

Grayjedi13

God, what's with all the hate for this? If it turns out bad, who cares it's a ten minute fan film. If it turns out good, maybe someone would want to do a longer Metroid film, which would actually be pretty cool if done right.

And you all know that "non for profit" doesn't mean that no one makes any money, right? It means that they aren't selling the movie and trying to get rich off it! However, if you want to make a professional looking film, you need paid actors, camera men, designers, equipment, ect. Now since it's non for profit that does mean that they are all getting paid less they normaly might, but all those people still can't do this for free! Even though it's a 10 min film it will likely take a week or two to film, and then there is all the post production work, which they say will take 6-8 months! That would be a hell of a lot of time for people to work for free.

Do you have any theaters in your city? Unless you live in New York most of them are non for profit too, even professional theaters.

They are trying to make art, not lots of cash.

Re: Pokémon X & Y "Mega Evolution" Details Fleshed Out, Distribution Event Confirmed

Grayjedi13

@feline2 Well I think "Mega" was one of the digivolution levels and some digimon may have had Mega in their name. And I mean, they'll always be compared occasionally since they are kinda the same in many ways.

As a kid I always liked both. The show was way cooler then Pokemon, but the Pokemon games were (And still are) fantastic. Can't wait for X/Y, just hope I can beat SMT IV before Oct!

Re: Feature: A Brief History of Pokémon - Part One

Grayjedi13

I don't think it's likely we'll see virtual console releases of Gen I or Gen II games, since some the main features, like trading and battling other players, wouldn't be easily included. Also gen I is quite unbalanced and has a TON of bugs. There really is a good reason why Gen III didn't let you import Pokemon from earlier games. I think it's much better to remember them through rose (or blue) tinted glasses.

Quite honestly the GBA and DS remakes are far better, although I know the GBA carts are getting a bit pricey and some people might not have a GBA or DS anymore to play them on (Side note: Never get rid of older gaming systems kids). I'd bet pretty good money that we'll see a new remake of Red/Green on the 3DS someday. Don't hold your breath for Ruby/Saphire though.

Re: More Pokémon X & Y Details Expected in the Coming Week

Grayjedi13

@Midnight3DS Unless you're talking about a GBA pokemon release, I wouldn't do that. The Gameboy pokemon games, while very fun for their time, have somewhat broken/unblanced combat systems as well as a number of bugs and glitches. If you're looking to play one of the older games I'd recommend the remade version of Red or Green for GBA, or the Gold or Silver remake for DS (My personal favorite pokemon game) .

Re: EA Plans For a Future With Micro-Transactions in All Games

Grayjedi13

Well, I may have to ban myself from buying anything put out by EA games now, which is a shame since they own Bioware. On the up side I'm really glad Nintendo seems to be strongly against micro DLC (for now). Can you imagine how much, say, Pokemon would suck with micro DLC?

God, I miss expansion packs...
