Retro releases would be great, but they should really make an all new switch 2 game that is Red/Blue 2. I mean a full on sequel set the Kanto & Johto regions would be a pretty great 30th anniversary product.
The game as is is also glitchy as hell. I know the PC version had issues as well, but if you're going to put a game back out maybe take the time to actually fix it?
@Azuris at least a patch is coming on switch. I bought this game off gog a few months ago, but had to get a refund because it wouldn't go past the character creation. Looked to be a common issue too.
I'm sure a number of people will complain about "only" 50 hours, but some of us have busy lives and 100+ hours becomes an unmanageable amount of gameplay. Looking forward to a cool rpg I actually have time to get through.
@The_Pixel_King it's definitely pricey as far as dlc goes, but a lot of work has clearly gone into the extra fighters and the base game has so much content that I'd personally say it's worth it.
I'm not really a minecraft guy, but if you're looking to add in gaming icons you can't really deny the impact the game has had. Also Steve looks like an interesting choice, and I'd kinda been hoping for a new weird smash fighter.
Edit: Also for those saying the art style doesn't fit, you do remember Mr Game & Watch, right?
I know it's small but, honestly most Gameboy or even gba games would probably look just fine on this size screen. I am pretty skeptical about PlayStation games on this thing though. In any event $73 feels a touch high for Pokemon on a keychain, which is probably all I'd use it for. If it were like $45-50 I might bite.
@Hobbesyall Yes and No. My understanding is that the SMT games are set in the same universe as persona. A lot of the combat mechanics, are the same or similar. However the story, at least in SMT IV, progresses in a more typical fashion and doesn't have the social story elements that the persona games have. The difficulty level is also a bit higher in my opinion.
All that said, who knows exactly what they'll do on SMT V. The switch has a lot more power than the 3DS after all, and it seems like JRPGs these days have started to adapt more modern gaming standards. Which in my opinion is a very good thing, and a long time coming.
@backup368 Pretty sure it is the PC version. The graphics look like it anyways.
I played hours and hours of this game on my old iMac as a kid, so I totally don't mind having a portable version of this on the switch. It's not a hard game (mostly), but it's a fun game and holds up very well honestly.
@Dragoon04 Yeah, who'd have thought that most people on a site called nintendo life would be buying a MarioKart game over a 3rd party game only on other systems at the moment?
@Thearnaud44 They pull bits and pieces from a lot of NES games, and there are actually some Back to the Future jokes thrown in. Don't worry it's much better then the Back to the Future game (Not that it'd be hard).
@ultimate321 Could you list some of these "extra rights" that are being asked for? Also please tell me what feminists are taking "less responsibility" for these days?
And also since it is non for profit, that means they might actually care about what the film looks like, and not put something out quickly in order to make money like other video game to film adaptions that are made all the time.
God, what's with all the hate for this? If it turns out bad, who cares it's a ten minute fan film. If it turns out good, maybe someone would want to do a longer Metroid film, which would actually be pretty cool if done right.
And you all know that "non for profit" doesn't mean that no one makes any money, right? It means that they aren't selling the movie and trying to get rich off it! However, if you want to make a professional looking film, you need paid actors, camera men, designers, equipment, ect. Now since it's non for profit that does mean that they are all getting paid less they normaly might, but all those people still can't do this for free! Even though it's a 10 min film it will likely take a week or two to film, and then there is all the post production work, which they say will take 6-8 months! That would be a hell of a lot of time for people to work for free.
Do you have any theaters in your city? Unless you live in New York most of them are non for profit too, even professional theaters.
@feline2 Well I think "Mega" was one of the digivolution levels and some digimon may have had Mega in their name. And I mean, they'll always be compared occasionally since they are kinda the same in many ways.
As a kid I always liked both. The show was way cooler then Pokemon, but the Pokemon games were (And still are) fantastic. Can't wait for X/Y, just hope I can beat SMT IV before Oct!
Awesome, DLC on this and on Injustice. It's about time we start seeing the Wii U treated like the other consoles. BTWs Amazon is offering $10 gift cards with the preorder of any Arkham Origins game, including the 3DS version. Not a bad deal especially if you're getting both games.
I don't think it's likely we'll see virtual console releases of Gen I or Gen II games, since some the main features, like trading and battling other players, wouldn't be easily included. Also gen I is quite unbalanced and has a TON of bugs. There really is a good reason why Gen III didn't let you import Pokemon from earlier games. I think it's much better to remember them through rose (or blue) tinted glasses.
Quite honestly the GBA and DS remakes are far better, although I know the GBA carts are getting a bit pricey and some people might not have a GBA or DS anymore to play them on (Side note: Never get rid of older gaming systems kids). I'd bet pretty good money that we'll see a new remake of Red/Green on the 3DS someday. Don't hold your breath for Ruby/Saphire though.
Wow, this looks really cool. The eShop needs games like this on it! Not sure what I think of the episode based format for games, but if the price is right I'd be willing to try it.
@Midnight3DS Unless you're talking about a GBA pokemon release, I wouldn't do that. The Gameboy pokemon games, while very fun for their time, have somewhat broken/unblanced combat systems as well as a number of bugs and glitches. If you're looking to play one of the older games I'd recommend the remade version of Red or Green for GBA, or the Gold or Silver remake for DS (My personal favorite pokemon game) .
Oh no, now I can't give more money to EA and get small amounts of worthless content. Content that may or may not be buggy as hell, as in the case of Mass Effect 2.
Well, I may have to ban myself from buying anything put out by EA games now, which is a shame since they own Bioware. On the up side I'm really glad Nintendo seems to be strongly against micro DLC (for now). Can you imagine how much, say, Pokemon would suck with micro DLC?
@0-172 It's actually one of the more solid titles on the 3ds store IMO, and I'd say worth it even with the higher price. At the sale price it's a steal!

They won't do it obviously, but we can dream.
Re: Poll: What Nintendo Switch 2 Games Are You Most Excited For In 2026?
Honesty, there's a bunch of games I could be excited about. But they might also be super mid and I just don't have enough information to know.
Re: Review: Arcade Archives 2 Air Combat 22 (Switch 2) - A Top Gun Origin Story
@JohnnyMind if you have a PS2 Ace Combat 5 is also one of the best in the series, and can be found pretty cheap second hand.

Re: GLITCHED Is A Quirky Take On World-Saving RPGs
@Andee Seems more earthbound to me, especially in the combat, but undertale takes a fair amount of influence from that game as well.

People need to calm down about this. I really don't see how it's a big deal.

Re: Ubisoft: Female Protagonists in Main Assassin's Creed Titles "Wouldn't Be Surprising"
Yes, we need more main female characters in video games. (And ones that aren't in the game just to wear skin tight "armor")
And as a side note, after reading a lot of these comments, it makes it painfully clear why there aren't more female gamers.
