@Clark2k I couldn't agree more. My son and I just played a few hours ago and he remarked similarly. Verticality and "chase" are two I would add. Good eye and Good Inking!
Imo...the Wii U did a lot for what it was. A number of games allowed for a unique gameplay opportunity that no past or present game system could afford. Nintendoland was outstanding providing the only game that I am aware of that allowed 5 people to play hide and go seek digitally. Splatoon was by far the greatest inovation on a 3rd person shooter ever made. And without Wii U, the Switch couldn't have come to light. It was an all important step towards portability of gaming. Steam Deck is up next!
Or...I get my Steam Deck and play all my games on a mobile pc. Anyone else sick of the retread from Nintendo? Who gives a crap for the nastolgia games? So help me if Splatoon 3 is tied up behind this...I'm done.
ACNH has my wife playing my Switch every single day, since shortly after release. Any game that can achieve that feat is deserving of many accolades. Thank you, Nintendo. Now...to convince her to get her own...hmmmm????
ACNH is astoundingly beautiful, bustling with things to do...I honestly can say I have never spent so much dedicated time to a game. This is my first AC experience and I am astonished. So many details and plenty of growth capability. Slow and well-timed unlocks. The expansion patterns are an absolute delight. I'm with Alex...10/10. Such a lovely person!!!๐๐
@MS7000 no doubt...I saw it and thought, "Themes for Switch!". Nope no themes...I saw the Splatoon theme on my son's DS or whatever it is and wondered, "When, Nintendo, when?"
Why throw shade on BOTW on the Wii U? It plays absolutely fine...I just wish they would have kept the map available on the gamepad. No love Nintendo...no love. Great game no matter the console.
Thank you for making this game. It is a true honor to play. I really wish there was a market, created by Nintendo, to deliver Splatoon clothing. I would love a colorful Splatoon tie, tie tack, dress shirt, etc. Redbubble is ok, but I would like better quality and selection. Thank you Nintendo!
@Exy I'm really struggling with the controls. I keep looking down (test fire and Splatfest) when I get inked to assess the map...nothing to see. I really miss the gamepad and button layout. Still excited for the game.
Anyone else feeling my Splatoon 2 pain? I hate all of the controller options. The gamepad was and is how Splatoon should be played. My arms and hands physically hurt to play this game. And I miss the constant map on feature. It is still quite early, but I am gravely distressed for a game that I adore ( my license plate says "INKING"!) I can't say I was able to enjoy the Splatfest...the controls are awful. And I loved motion control on the original. What's a sad Inkling to do? Please Nintendo...patch in the gamepad??!!
@KittyKatta I really agree with you on the gamepad. I don't know how many times I instinctively looked down to check the map only to see a pro controller in my hands. Hands down the gamepad is how this game was meant to be played. Nonetheless I love Splatoon and will gladly support the Switch version. Nintendo, anyway to patch in the gamepad as a controller on the Switch???
As a parent I love this app to monitor and control my kids playtime...However we all discovered this convenient loophole this past weekend while away. I hope they can patch this because it is very handy...For us parental "fuzz" types. Frankly this was a major selling point for my wife. The kids were doing all kinds of chores to earn time. Thanks Nintendo...Now just patch this loophole...Please?
My boys both have BOTW on their Switches and I am playing it on the Wii U. I've looked over their shoulder and the graphics are smoother, but I can't say I feel jilted because I am playing it on the Wii U. I have had no technical issues whatsoever. The game is just flat out amazing, to quote a kind bearded man from the old country (on Youtube) it is a true "honor" to be able to play this game. Thank you Nintendo!
If you have a Wii U and are not up for getting the Switch at this time, get BOTW for the Wii U. You will not be disappointed in the least. I promise (IMHO).
The concepts that Splat๐n bring to the gamer are so very unique. Stealth is something sorely lacking in other shooter games. Who doesn't love swimming through ink and sneaking up on other squids??? And I love that my children can play a game that has all of the emotional responses of any other shooter game out there, without blood and guts being spewed on the screen. Thank you Nintendo for this absolute gem of a game!
I'm kind of surprised Splatoon was not in the "Family" category as well. My kids can and do play that quite often. It is very much geared towards children and parents too. Ink On! Love me some Splatoon!
My family has 3 Wii U's and 3 copies of Splat๐n...Nintendo I'd be overly happy to give you my wallet for some Splat๐n dlc. Most enjoyable game I have ever played. Thanks again for creating and selling this marvelous product.
@ACK I couldn't agree more. It is spontaneous kid friendly fun...and who can deny the beauty of the ink!? Splat๐n on! My license plates read: INK-ING. Everyone thinks I'm into tatoos, but my Splat๐n squid stickers tell another story.
I just want to thank these gentlemen for one of the finest and most fun games I've ever played. What they have come up with is so intuative, unique, and absolutely family friendly. My hope is that they continue to refine and build on the wonderful mechanics and world they have created; either on the game we have or new iterations. Splat๐n on!

Re: Poll: What Do You Want To See From This Week's Splatoon 3 Nintendo Direct?
No clam blitz. More modes. Not so dang restrictive on what we play and when. Better and easier friend connectivity.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting A Switch OLED Or Valve Steam Deck?
@moodycat Yep...lots of fuss, but finally went through.
Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On The Switch OLED As Pre-Orders Go Live In The US
Why not do what Valve is doing with the Steam Deck? Somehow I think Nintendo loves the scalper market.

Re: Splatoon 3 Was Just Announced, But Splatoon 2 Isn't Done Just Yet
Been playing 2 quite a bit lately. No other game compares to the mechanics of Splatoon. Outstanding game all around...1, 2, or (I'm certain)...#3.

The best way to play Splatoon. We have three Wii Us. It is a much better system than given credit for, but I get the shade thrown its way.

Re: Feature: Game Of The Decade Staff Picks - Splatoon

This is really an interesting game. Offers a "Just one more turn" feeling. A lot of expansion could be done, but really not too shabby. ๐

Splatoon 2 is my trigger for ordering.
