Re: Video: Splatoon Co-Director Tsubasa Sakaguchi Gets Grilled By Kids

Grafeaux

Mr. Tsubasa Sakaguchi: from the bottom of my heart or tentacles...still not sure if I am a 36 year old kid or a 14 year old squid...THANK YOU!!! Your game is absolutely amazing and I have not been able to walk away from it to play any other game since release. Love the interview. Love the friendly smiles. Love the playfulness that you exude...it certainly shows in your masterpiece we refer to as: SPLATOON! Splatoon On!

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Grafeaux

Let me give everyone who thinks the Wii U is a dud a reason to pick one up....wait for it....wait for it...S_P_L_A_T_O_O_N. I cannot think of another game more worthy to shell out funds to purchase a console. Pick up the Splat👀n Deluxe console at Best Buy right now. Very worth it...you get a free pro controller along with a digital version of GOTY (imo) Splat👀n and a very fun group game in Nintendoland. So many other quality games as well.

@rjejr Your opinions are yours and I respect that, but just a remark on your negativity (not that you want it): There are producers and consumers. I am a consumer. If I consume then I support the producer. If I don't consume then I don't support the producer. Seeing as how you, the consumer, have consumed Splatoon produced by Nintendo the Producer...just enjoy what they are giving you and leave it at that. I am so perturbed by the constant nagging from consumers. If you don't like it don't buy it. Please stop the negativity after you have already consumed the product.

And I am done. Happy Splatooning!

Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: F-Zero Wii U, Octolings, and Same-Sex Marriage

Grafeaux

@whodatninja I whole-heartedly agree with you. We are so much more than "sacks of meat".

Why does society treat people as if they are? I was arguing from solely a biological/scientific vantage point, seeing as that is typically the only "acceptable" form of argument, but you've made it clear you are better than that.

Since you brought it up (rightfully so) where does attraction and beauty come from? Is beauty truly in the eye of the beholder? Who gave us those "natural human qualities"? Can we agree that some "thoughts, feelings, and attractions" are inappropriate or even wrong?

I love your avatar by the way!

(NL--I will not start anymore conversations regarding this with anyone else...I just simply needed to and will probably need to respond...I honestly mean no disrespect.)

Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: F-Zero Wii U, Octolings, and Same-Sex Marriage

Grafeaux

Ok NL...not the forum for the debate, but it is hard to not respond with a title like you gave this article and the choices Nintendo is making. I will dispense with my tirades now. You have to understand, what just took place in this nation (USA) was rather traumatic for the majority of folks. The title of this article and the "open" forum mixed with what just happened in America spurred this on. I will shutty on this post. Thank you for the work you all do...I thoroughly enjoy it.

Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: F-Zero Wii U, Octolings, and Same-Sex Marriage

Grafeaux

@whodatninja What do you mean by saying "natural"? Propagation of species hardly points to same-sex relations.

Also, not directed at you, why do we censor opinions we don't agree with? I was looking forward to respectful conversation on the topic. I harbor no hatred or malice towards anyone. I stand on the side of the Moral Law Giver. Every life is precious.

You can't title an article and present what you do without allowing for conversation on the given topic. It is a shame that so many debates, including this one are cut off immediately because only one side is viewed as correct. Last I checked debate required two sides and we were free to do it albeit respectfully.

Re: The First Western Splatoon Splatfest Kicks Off on 4th July

Grafeaux

All is well...looking forward to playing as much as I can. Fireworks are the only real hindering factor for us Yanks...some parades and stuff...unfortunately the USA has little to celebrate...we are a spoiled, stuck up, poorly lead people, who take all we have for absolute granted. We spend more time complaining about what we don't have, as opposed to using what we do have to serve our fellow man. Not an apologist, just letting those across the pond know what many of their kinfolk have become. Better days may be on the horizon or we are nearing the end of America the Proud...not sure yet.

Re: Splatoon Holds Onto Top 5 Territory in the UK Charts

Grafeaux

I honestly believe that any person that can play for an hour will get hooked on this game. Once you hit level 4 things just start to get real interesting. The frantic fun of turf wars and the not as easy as I thought it was going to be single player just play the right chord regarding content. To know more is coming just makes this game my absolute go-to game. Haven't played anything else since shortly before Splat👀n came out. There is nothing else out there like this game. Thank you Nintendo!

Re: Nintendo UK Confirms Its Community's Top 10 Wii U Games

Grafeaux

Splatoon has got to be top of the list for me...however I really can't disagree with many of the others. I found it interesting that this much maligned system is a powerhouse when it comes to the penultimate and primary purpose of a gaming console: FUN GAMES. Nintendoland needs to be mentioned as well. I don't think there is a more fun local multiplayer game than Mario Chase and the Luigi Ghost Game.

Re: Splatoon Practically Sold Out at Launch in Japan, With Over 100,000 amiibo Also Sold

Grafeaux

I have two three packs of Splatoon Amiibo. I had ordered one from ebay for $65 thinking they were going to be hard to come by, so when I saw Walmart had them up for preorder I nabbed two. I figured they would sell out really quick, but they did not. I watched for about a week and they were still available for pre-order...so I realized how foolish I was for ordering from ebay, but could not stop that order from coming through. We have three Wii U's and three copies of Splatoon. I thought maybe the amiibo would be specific to each Wii U so that we would need all three for each system, however that is not the case. I despise scalpers, even though I obviously supported one. I would like to sell my two three packs for regular price, but I do not want a person who is going to turn around and sell them for the unbelievable price I paid for the one from ebay. What should I do? No, seriously, I am not going to give it to you or you or you....I can't trust you won't go off and scalp them. I want a child perhaps who loves the game and can't get a hold of the Splatoon amiibo to have a set. How can I find said child? (I am in the US.) Nintendo, can you help get these into the right hands? In fact I'd be ever so glad to donate them if the cause is just right...let me know.

Re: Hands On: Checking Out Splatoon's Freshly Unlocked Ranked Battle Mode

Grafeaux

@Shane904 I watched my son play several Splat Zones last night and I notice a couple of folks acting as it was Turf Wars. At first I thought that was odd, but then it dawned on me that they were probably trying to just activate their special...esp if they had ink strike or killer wail. You could definitely help your team from afar with this mode. Also a strategy that I saw get employed....I think...was for three of the four to work on capturing the zone while the other was the maverick putting a kink in the plans of those outside/traveling to the splat zone. I am going to give myself some time before playing this mode. It looks awesome...I'm just not ready for it yet.

Re: Hands On: Checking Out Splatoon's Freshly Unlocked Ranked Battle Mode

Grafeaux

Thanks Nintendo! Funny how at virtually every turn they are proving their many critics wrong. This is great content and a great game. All the fools that have rated this game less than 8 out of 10 should be ashamed of themselves. Any so-called professional game critic that rated this game anything less than 8 out of 10 should lose all credibility with the gaming community. I cannot abide by intelectual dishonesty. No one can deny the absolute fun you have when playing this unique and amazing game. Splat👀n On!

Re: Splatoon Ranked Battles Creep Closer as the 'Splatometer' Fills

Grafeaux

@Jock_Nerd I have not had more intense fun on any other game I have ever played and that is going back to the original Nintendo system, the Sega Basic System and onward. The matches are perfectly timed for 3 minutes...no time for strategy...just go. And when you lose it is just impetus to get back in there and ink away. You will love online as my kids and I and even my wife who is far from being a gamer have. And joy of joys...NO VOICE CHAT!

Re: Splatoon Ranked Battles Creep Closer as the 'Splatometer' Fills

Grafeaux

@Jock_Nerd Actually...I think kids pick it up much quicker than those that have done twin-stick for shooters. It is all in what the brain is trained for and kids will have very little previous experience so they will take to this like a fish to swimming. I can remember my 2 year old's ability to comprehend the first I-pad much more easily than I was able. To quote a certain little green dude, "You must unlearn what you have learned." While we are busy doing that...my, now 9 year old, just inked your sorry hind-tentacles! Splatoon On!

Re: Splatoon Ranked Battles Creep Closer as the 'Splatometer' Fills

Grafeaux

@Peach64 I hear ya, but I wouldn't be too concerned...I think the main objective is still to paint. It appeared that the only way to unlock your special...in at least Splat Zones was to paint the map. Your special allows for ranged attacks that contribute mightily to this mode. Don't worry about not being a good shooter and just focus on what you do best...paint! Splatoon On!

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Grafeaux

@lividd3ad True...my bad...I apologize for my cheekiness (I edited that negative part out). Indeed...I told my kids that three Wii U's is crazy...four would just be insane. Although...they are teams of 4...hmmmmm....??? My wife would tar, feather, and kill me! Better not...although....

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Grafeaux

@lividd3ad I have a family of 5. Two boys that love to game, a daughter who is not a fan of gaming and a wife who gets dizzy looking at most games and is not a game fan in the least. ALL 5 of us are playing this game on three Wii U's in our house at the same time on three TV's. To hell with voice chat...we just talk to each other while in the same room...oh and it is mostly void of hateful and disgusting speech...the occasional "Grrrrrr..." when we get inked. By far the best investment I've made from an entertainment perspective!

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Grafeaux

Who cares about price...entertainment-wise this game more than covers the costs. I purchased a third Wii U (the Splatoon Deluxe version) and two E-Shop copies of the game at the $60 US price along with three sets of three amiibo at $35 for two and $65 for another on ebay...should never have gotten that, but it is too late, so whatever. As far as I am concerned I am getting one heck of a deal from Nintendo for this game and the fun it oozes with (no ink pun intended there). To quote something I once read someone post, "Here Nintendo...take my money...please???." Splatoon On!

Re: Splatoon Global Testfire Suffers Major Problems in Final Pre-Launch Session

Grafeaux

We had joy...disappointment...and then rapturous joy...6 folks played here at our house in Midwest USA...my daughter and wife played and even asked to play several more times each. I gotta say Nintendo, no one, and I mean no one can get my wife and daughter interested in a "shooter" type game. However...you did...thank you! (Hence my two Wii U's already purchased, the Splatoon Deluxe Wii U from Best Buy preordered, two E-shop preorders of Splatoon, and 3 preorders of the three-pack of Splatoon Amiibo...if you can't tell, my family is liking your Inking game!) Splatoon On!

Re: Fashion: A Young Reader Shows That Style Matters in Splatoon

Grafeaux

@wolvesboy Would you mind running this idea I had, while running in the dark with my wife, with Erin? How about Nintendo turns down the lights and turns up the ink? Glow in the dark ink on darkened maps. I think the splats on her chucks that glow in the dark would be awesome on darkened Splatoon maps too. Splat👀n On to the two of you!
