I don't get why this event was considered "bizzare." It appeared to be no different than Warrior Dash or Tough Mudder. In fact it is more apropos due to the game they are PRing. I'm sure the kids had a blast, parents were exposed to the family friendly nature of Splatoon, and Nintendo had some community interactions. Why is that bizzare? Oh...and I want me a squid pin and Splatoon Tshirt!!!! Jealous of those kiddos (haha), but very glad they had and took the opportunity.
@Captain_Gonru I can understand your frustration, but I think if you have the basic wii u you are going to need an external hd anyway. Xenoblade X will demand it! It is expensive to treat ourselves as kings...gaming comes at a cost but it is what makes the world go round. Spending is the fuel that keeps the fire of development and new games burning.
Also, why not address this with LAN. For those with multiple Wii U's or when friends get their Wii U's together. Just trying to work within the confines of what is available to address this one final piece of the awesome puzzle called Splatoon!
This is perhaps the greatest limiting factor of this game...lack of solid local multiplayer. I get that a gamepad is necessary for much of the gameplay...so it turns my mind to Nintendo's best means available for addressing it presently as things stand: make Splatoon available on the New 3DS. Turn it fuctionally into a 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th local multiplay gamepad option. I feel it has the power to accomplish this and it has the same functionality as a gamepad. Just a pipedream I guess. Still love Splatoon and can't wait for May 29th!
@DeltaPeng Haha...must be meant to be! I think it might just be a mod for them to relatively easily put more life into the game after it has been out for a while. It might provide extra challenges without changing up style or substance. Plus I just want to see some orange neon glow in the dark ink tracer fire off in the distance that I need to attack with my blue neon glow in the dark ink!
Great article...as a father of three...I want a quality game I can play with my kids. I understand the conundrum of no vc, but please let us parents have this one game without the nastiness that vc can bring. You have every other shooter available...leave this one be. Love Splatoon! Oh and while I'm at it...why not turn down the lights and turn up the ink, BABY? Glow in the dark ink on nighttime or completely dark maps. Next year...maybe...Nintendo?
Love Splatoon...loved the test fire...why not turn down the lights and turn up the ink, BABY? Glow in the dark ink on completely dark maps...the glow illumines your way and it might just illumine your doom...as a neon orange glow in the dark tracer catches you out of the dark. Why not Nintendo? Why not? Not now...but next year sometime. Oh the inky goodness! Love Splatoon.
