@BTB20 15 million players on steam, 10 million players on xbox, how many more million will we have on PlayStation? No misinformation there. I hope Nintendo lose this so hard because bringing a court case partly on the basis of throwing a ball to capture a creature is flocking ridiculous and would set a precedent to stifle games development.

So it's still releasing on Github - how is that finished with then?

@BTB20 yes it's the most successful 3rd party game on Gamepass of all time. More success that Nintendo got their panties in a twist about.

@Dr_Lugae I wasn't referring to revenue but unit sales. As of February 2024 Palworld had 15m sales on Steam, 10 million users on Xbox across sales and Gamepass (devs do a Gamepass sales deal like film media do on Netflix so they get hard cash based on users playing, Palworld is the most popular 3rd party game in Gamepass history which is not exactly shabby). Now just launched on PlayStation 5. Nintendo only got their panties in a twist because it was so successful.

@BTB20 I specifically said that Palworld was better and more successful than Pokemons recent products. Palworld is better and more successful with 25 million sales as of February 2024 across 2 platforms (so going to be higher than that now 9 months later) and has just launched on Playstation 1 month ago which is going to further up sales on that 65 million footprint platform so it has already exceeded any Nintendo pokemon release on the switch in unit sales. Nintendo felt threatened ONLY because it was so successful unlike the reams of other games with similar mechanics. As one analyst said: ""This lawsuit would have never happened if Palworld had 500 users per day on Steam," Toto says. "[Nintendo] would have said, 'ok, whatever, let's leave these guys alone; the game will die.'"

The elephant in the room is that Nintendo''s own Pokemon products have been poor for many years and Palworld was better and more successful. There have been lots of games with similar mechanics. Palworld's biggest "crime" compared to those other ones was to be successful.

@Teksetter On the other-hand is the Wolfenstein series a big seller in Germany?!

one thing is that I find that the horror immersion factor of these games does not work on handheld.

complete jank on switch. the -sequence with the dragon boss at the tower was like a frame-by-frame powerpoint.

@Pod sure but most analyst projections have Nintendo target share price with another 25% to 30% to go up. It's not like the Saudis only have this capital to play with so need to sell to buy other stuff.

@Pod it's a good chunk of change but not even 1% of what they have in their sovereign wealth fund alone.

Saudi Arabia is the place beheading (2023) its own subjects for being in a protest aged 17 while on the other hand in 2013 a man who molested and murdered his own 5 year old daughter was able to pay a monetary sum to the mother and avoid any prison. That is literally what is going on in their legal system.

Nintendo get annoyed that people like a game more than their crappy game. Well done Nintendo.

@LEGEND_MARIOID Lucky for you. But also it's the worst reviewed new Zelda game in over 30 years at least..

86 on Metacritic - lower than Link's Awakening. Main issue seems to be that Zelda was traditionally an action adventure but that this is a PUZZLE-adventure (no combat for the most part effectively)

Patents huh? Ironic when "patently" Nintendo have had for many years had trouble producing a Pokemon game that that is anywhere near as fun as Palworld

@Neckcrane Gravity Circuit is the game that outdoes MegaMan imo. Not a roguelite / like but a super game.

@JesseJames23 it's hard at the start until you get upgrades. use a guide to find out where the health and burst upgrades are on each level - they are basically essential.

Seems to be getting pretty poor reviews elsewhere. consensus seems to be that other games just do it much better. (and that the hacking part is repetitive)

GTA V ran on an Xbox 360 so could run on a Switch 1

@larryisaman they are standalone stories. many people won't really take to the archaic mechanics and the demo can let them find that out!

@larryisaman there were two demos provided for this game. people didn't have to buy anything to try it for free.

@eaglesfly76 I do agree that when I see the term "amazing pixel art" I do wince a bit but it never has been a clincher for me with a game tbh

@eaglesfly76 the most important thing about the game is how the game is really. this is a 91% metacritic game so it's one of the best platformers released.

how is this going to run on Switch I wonder given what looks like a big graphical upgrade?

any tips on how to "get into this game"? have tried briefly a couple of times and failed.

@WaveBoy I have HOTD Overkill on the Wii. It's good and very playable using the sensor bar for sure!

controls on the first one were "not great" at best even with the patch. gyro is just not up to it. don't really see how they can improve on that limitation here either...

@Josh_Hickory I totally agree. With the first one the controls were literally completely janky. I didn't get how some of the reviews were so strong. likewise here with NL giving the sequel an 8 - it has gotten a 5 from another site with them saying the controls ruin the sequel also.

I thought the controls were absolutely dire on the first one. regret it. read elsewhere that on the second one the fixed camera fixes some of that but creates new issues...

switch gyro sensors just not up to the job unfortunately for this type of game.

@Unit_DTH believe me the disparity was far greater in the 1980's with the euphemistic "pixel art" graphics then.

Content update but the Switch never got an adequate performance update... the performance even took a step backwards with a recent update...

These games were great back in the day but I feel that this style of racing game has not aged well. The high point was Super Sprint with the multiple-wheel arcade cabinet.

This game would stress meowt.

@Savage_Joe the " current state" performance wise is still poor and actually went backwards with one of the more recent patches.
