@Fandabidozi @roadrunner343
Weirdest change of perception happened to me after playing the "subjectively most 3D titles I ever played" (aka Mario Galaxy 1 & 2) for an excessive amount of time. I sat on front of my PC after a long Galaxy-session and was extremely confused as to why my desktop didn't rotate and feature gravity shenanigans. Also when nobody in my flat yelled "Wahoo!" for an extended amount of time, I sort of had to take it upon myself to change that.
Looks nice, but none of my friends are into that sort of game - so no local co-op for me. Also there's a typo in the last sentence of the article ('Steredeen').
Oh and the game would definitely not have a tutorial. It would instead introduce new enemy mechanics slowly at first but faster around one quarter into the game's story. The character's abilities would progress in much the same way. For stat-lovers like me and people that want to dig deep into the game's mechanics, there would be an expansive glossar explaining all rules (including all stats, elements, status conditions, buffs and debuffs), including %-numbers of increases and decreases. Of course there would also be a sort of bestiary that would show all enemies encountered so far (including their detailed stats if you use an analysis spell or an ability or item that can copy this effect), showing their zoomable sprite and animations and the treasure they can drop.
In a perfect world they would release an all new Secret of Mana game, using the same engine and visual style of Project Octopath Traveler.
The game would have 3-player local (and online) multiplayer, where each player would control one of the well-balanced, albeit very different characters (who of course have distinct and flavourful backgrounds). The game's system would allow limited character customization, similar to the class-progression system in Seiken Densetsu 3 (SoM2). The game would use an enhanced and refined version of the ring menus seen in Secret of Mana. A central new option would be that you could choose that opening the ring menu will not interrupt the game's flow by pausing the game and thereby making spellcasters a lot more fun to play. The story in this game would be gripping, it would feature a few really unexpected twists and it would make you feel happy, sad, adventurous and at the same time powerful and helpless, while also leaving you with enough freedom to take your time and engage in the beautifully crafted game's world. The game would feature multiple endings, additional character unlocks (each of which would of course offer a new unique playstyle and a new perspective on the game's story), alternative outfit unlocks, an unlockable hard mode (after beating the main story for the first time), an achievement-system, a theater mode featuring both audio and video sequences that you have already unlocked in the game via collectibles and a gallery with art and fotos (also including a hard to unlock video featuring the game's development team congratulating you on 100%-ing the game). Needless to say, the game's soundtrack would be among the best OST's ever created (and also the game would have an unlockable option to play all music in 16-bit mode).
That's the vision I have for an all-new entry in the Mana series. And I'm heartbroken that this game won't ever be created.
Seriously I hate to be THAT guy, but how does this professional writer manage to have so many typos in his articles. I'm not trying to be mean here, but it irks me.
"It's very PS2 in terms of gameplay [...]" Can someone translate that for me? The game looks... very dated. And a bit cheap - but hey, that by itself doesn't mean much.
@Aneira Yeah, the list on the site is incomplete. Golf Story is on sale (think around 20% off, but I'm not sure) too, check out the e-shop if you're interested.
Wow looks like about one third of my wishlist is on sale. Would be nice if we could vote on the dicounted games too. Will probably grab Floor Kids, Neurovoider and maybe Wulverblade. Am also tempted to get Golf Story and Rayman Legends.
@Fake-E-Lee Did you enjoy NeuroVoider more than Binding of Isaac (which was my first twin-stick shooter ever and an awfully addicting game)? I considered getting it, but I already have more than enough games to keep me busy until 2019 (and the great 2018 titles haven't even released yet).
Nothing for me this week, still busy with the huge backlog I got.
Btw there are so many typos in the article (English isn't even my first language and I can't help but notice this) again - are you on an extremely tight time schedule to finish up those articles or why does this keep happening?
Oh boy here we go. Played HoN (Heroes of Newerth) for about 5 years and finally managed to stop when Splatoon2 released. If this is any good I might stop seeing the outside world. Send help.
What does the discount have to do with Labo? I mean you could pretty much order anything (with a few exceptions as @Curlynob already pointed out)... I get the idea, but... I don't know.
I really enjoyed Portal, so this sounds pretty interesting - nice review. Might get it some day, for now I'm fine painting walls in and around Inkopolis.
When the comment section has less typos than the article... ^^ Anyway, 2018 is looking insanely good already - just wait until we get a proper direct. And E3. Favourites from the list: Octopath, Metroid (even though I doubt it will release this year) and Fire Emblem.
I love how excited the japanese guy in the video is. Even though I sort of dislike the kind of music in the vid, I get that itch to tap along to it. Might be a very fun game in fact, if the interesting concept is well executed.
Started day1 of release and never quite stopped - this game is just way too good (will soon clock in on 500 hours). Sadly it stops me from enjoying so many other great games, but then again there's barely anything on offer that tops this piece of art in quality and FRESHNESS.
I mostly play regular splattershot, inkbrella and rapid blaster. Brella is so mean in tower mode, where you can just push those precious few extra points because you stay alive a few seconds longer...
As for the new weapon: I cant handle the nozzlenoses at all. ^^
Sounds horrible. But one thing that I don't quite understand: There was not one single positive thing to say about the game in the whole review. The author even recommended die-hard monstertruck fans to keep away from the game. How did it earn the 3/10 it has and how does a 1/10 game look then? ^^
Sooo... the first solution was not ideal and the follow-up product improves on the original by not fitting most heads? Sounds fine... maybe the next product by them will damage your switch, needs to be sewn to your ears or runs on a blood bag. I love the look, but almost nobody sees me when when i'm sitting in my appartment gaming (functionality > style).
@ThatNyteDaez Tentatek Splattershot actually got SEVERELY nerfed, not buffed. Points needed until ulti (ink jet) have been increased and the ink jet itself received a huge nerf too. Good for me since I always preferred the standard splattershot set.
OMG this is pretty much the first time since I play online games that a developer addressed nearly all issues I had with a game. Slosher was ridiculous and should be in a good place now. I'm very happy about the ink-jet nerf mostly since I had really big trouble with that ability when I'm not on my rapid blaster. Also buffed stingray, splashdown and cloud are great. Lovely update.
I would've liked if they had given Team Invisibility a Ninja Squid main effect on their splatfest shirts and Team Flight should've had the Ink Jetpack as special (not sure about its name in english, that flying ulti) regardless of main weapon.
Also I would always choose flight over invisibility, must feel so great to fly without the need for a vehicle or equipment of some sort.
The new options (new pokés, replays, modes, etc.) look great! I liked the game quite a bit on my Wii-U, even though the background sprites (just look at that guy on his bicycle with his Volcarona on a leash in the first stage - just horrible) looked like something straight out of a N64 game. Even though the new additions to the game are tempting, I don't feel the need to double dip since Splatoon2 takes up most of my gaming time. Clear recommendation for friends of Tekken and Pokémon though, especially if you skipped this on Wii-U.
Oh noes. I was pretty excited when I read the title and then disappointed.
One of my favorourite games ever (especially in local multiplayer). What a pity. Maybe they'll release for switch some time in the future? Also I hope they change the radial menu, so that it doesn't interrupt gameplay when equipping new weapons / choosing spells / using items, which was my only gripe with the game.
Nice, will get that! But the guy talking in the trailer is a mess... sounds like an infomercial produced by Michael Bay (which I might actually watch out of a weird fascination with all things trash).
I would SO love to have a new, modern Pokémon Stadium for the Switch. Just like Pokémon Showdown (as in being able to build teams out of all available Pokémon, including choosing movesets, abilities, natures, IV's, EV's and items but with nice graphics), with casual and ranked online matches in different formats and include tutorials (like a rules compendium) for newer and experienced players alike. They could add challenge modes vs the AI and themed battles against known trainers from the series and the option to unlock outfits for your trainer, shiny forms of your Pokémon and trophies including trivia from the games and anime (like in Smash Bros). Add in local multiplayer and you got one hell of a game that the fanbase would love, would probably sell well if marketed right (for example host tournaments with prizes and publicity) and that I'd play forever.
'Golden era' might sound a bit melodramatic, but I do agree with the overall sentiment that gaming has never been better from a gamer's / consumer's pont of view.
Also the one thing I would like to find out, is what awaits behind the locked side entrance at the kalos power plant. It seems they expected to release X2/Y2, but then didn't.
How can so many posters here say they're underwhelmed with what US/UM offer, when nobody (except for the developers ofc) knows what the games gonna offer? Weird. I for one am hyped as always when a new mainline game is just a good 2 months from release. I thoroughly enjoyed sun (might actually be my favourite pokémon game so far) and can't wait for the next installment.
If you only want to use chargers because of that satisfying "CHING!", give blasters a try. Easier to "CHING!" with, very deadly and precise weapon and also nice ink spread for those if you who for some reason don't want to give the ranked modes a try.
I can't play chargers at all, but at least I seem to ink a decent amount of ground with them. The problem with most charger users is that they play their weapon like a regular sniper rifle in other FPS's. Splatoon is not a regular FPS.
My ARMS playtime took a nosedive when Splatoon2 released, but I'm always looking forward to new content for this fantastic game. Nice to see it getting the love it deserves.

@SH007ME The link is probably there by mistake and / or laziness. Same thing with the typo in a 2 paragraph article.
