Part of the charm of ARMS is the sheer depth of customization when it comes to the titular weapons with which the fighters do battle. There’s thousands upon thousands of possible combinations and setups, yet Nintendo isn’t content to just call it day quite yet. The company already teased the upcoming new fighter, and now it’s also shown off a brief look at one of the new ARMS due to come out in the next update.
The new ARM looks like a defensive shield-type weapon, and it seems to have some sort of counterattack potential, as we watch Helix punch it and get blown back for his efforts. Take a look and see for yourself:
Hopefully all these brief looks on Twitter are pointing towards the update coming out sometime soon, it seems like this one is going to make a fair bit of change.

Pretty neat I guess! I like playing defensive in fighting games.
Oook... What next? I was expecting a full reveal? Let's just wait and see what happens...
Not a fan of the grainy footage for this or the upcoming character reveal. It's kind of grating.

Currently running helix with icedragon and guardian. Will be interesting how this shield works! Plus looks like theres going to be three arm gloves than the initial reported one. Cos the other trailer had the new character with a different weapon.
Are Helix's gloves coated with sprinkles?
My ARMS playtime took a nosedive when Splatoon2 released, but I'm always looking forward to new content for this fantastic game. Nice to see it getting the love it deserves.

Hmmm seems like weapons that shoots sprinkles after using like a fast/small arm... The shield doesnt seem that usefull in that way (since helix's is probably stronger) but the glove might be okay 🤔

I main Helix, but I hate all of his default arms. I'm so grateful the game let's you mix and match, though I still can't manage to unlock the Slapamander for Helix, and it's making me angry.
It may not move, but it looks like this shield gives an electric shock. I bet it will disable whichever arm hits it while also knocking the player back. I would roll this with Master Mummy .
Between the new mystery fighter and a new ARM, this is going to be a great update. Hope it comes out soon, before I succumb to the temptation of another new game. Splatoon 2 already pulled me away from ARMS, but I plan to get back to it this weekend.

Same here, I think a lot of people stopped playing arms when splatoon 2 came out.
