I must be blind, I don't see performance issues but when I see pc footage ther I'd a clear difference but balances out that I can play in handheld mode. Sadly I'm still one of the users who can't play online due to crashes and I hate not seeing it addressed anywhere
Not going to submit because if got a review but "Graceful Explosion Machine" I'm sure was a launch game on switch 1, got a 9/10 on this site, but because of the eshop it was hidden at the very bottom and so while not missed by the site would of been missed by majority of switch owners
Iv only ever played fft:a which I recall loving as a kid
I get got into fire emblem on the gamecube and wii, and then advanced wars.
If I could only make one purchase for a grid based strat game? What are we saying is either the best or most likely to convince me to buy others? For the price I'm considering triangle strategy.
@betterthanvegas yeah I was going to mention that the first game was actually brilliant with the prologue being used as a beta version (that likely did more harm than good for switch sales)
But I never thought that was the case here. Infact I was very close to purchasing it on ps5 just because the performance looks so much smoother. (sure the switch trailers uses ps5/pc version as well) lack of gyro controls also hurt as I had just put in another 20 hours on the first game.
That said my choice was made due to me mainly playing handheld mode (and my ps5 is just a dust machine at this point).
Sadly I'm one of the few where the online feature forces my switch 2 to shut down so that's sucked and definately wasn't present in the demo
@betterthanvegas that is all fair, but I will stand by my point (but to clarify is my own belief) that buying to support on cartridge even if the game isnt worth it seems like a silly concept. To my knowledge nothing from the demo changed in the full game?
With this and ninja gaiden both coming out so close to each other, what I really want is a follow up to mark of the ninja. Though I will get this once it's on sale, the demo sold me for sure, but I want to ensure I can invest time into daemon x Machina TS while the online is lively
I know I'm a Nintendo fan boy when the ps5 version is better performing and cheaper (at curry's) and I'm still buying the switch 2 version. First one was alot of fun past the prologue test missions demo, there is a really good online community around thst game and it's already established for the sequel so I'm in
Having recently replayed the first one and playing online alot (prior to dkb) I can say that this does not feel even close to as smooth as the first one. I've only done one chapter though.... And as I have the deluxe edition physical pre-ordered I'll defo be working my way through it just to make sure I don't need to cancel
Reminder that the 'demo' was more of a beta where feedback and was taken on board and changes made before the full release. They even shared what the changes were but people were too silly to take that on board. I've been playing the first one online alot recently and still loving it. Pre-ordered the collectors edition for the sequel to sit along side my collectors edition for the original
Only reason this isn't a day one for me is due to lack of limited/special/collectors edition. Also waiting to see how switch 2 backwards compatiblity will potentially enhance visuals
Waiting for some dlc now before I return to the game.. Potentially to make the end game pretty broken with character builds so I wouldn't mind some nerfs
Mayb a different reason for me, I was willing to try a new genre, deck building was new to with hand of gilgamesh and led to me throwing 100 hours into slay the spire....
But the big turn off was the developer videos, and specifically regarding the lore of the games it was revealed they make it up as they go along and have no overarching story... And so it just feels with the genre swapping its just a random game with steamworld aesthetics to rope me in
Is this list really the best you could come up with? The article states about half of the games don't hold up/don't look good/are repetitive/have better sequels.
@gcunit Florence, sitting down with my partner as we played through it in one sitting, cute story better than whatever she would of put on Netflix... And a soundtrack that hasn't left our playlists since we first heard it.... Great game for what it is
F-zero 99 is novel at the moment, until we get more courses I can't be anywhere but bottom for me. I don't know is casual players will stick around long enough the content to expand, even more so after failing to win after multiple tries on limited tracks
Just to add, music in gx makes me struggle to keep it as number 1 even though its the f-zero I spent most time with
@stipey I partly agree with you, but the dynamics aren't the same. The great plat was a taster of the open world... The mechanics we got from the shrines weren't essential to traveling and so what the GP was for me was a wooooow look how big this open world is, and then the reveal that is wasnt even 5% of the map
ToTk was a real tutorial because the mechanics now we're much more necessary to. Traversing the lands and I'll be honest my first hour with the game the menus and button layouts were tough. My girlfriend almost gave up on the game, without structure people would be lost imo
@Ralizah came to say this, I'm literally wrapping up xc3 now in time for advance wars, to plow with as many hours as possible before TotK. Advance wars was my first ever 'pre-order' and I would of skipped it if I had known
So was world to the west not a sequel? I never got round to playing it, but loved the lore built in teslagrad (1), so wondering if it's worth investing time in WttW for the fullest experience?

@betterthanvegas that's your problem, "i want to support on cart" even if it means buying a genre you claim has issues, even with a demo availble.
Maybe just buy games you like.

Re: Surprise! PS1 Cult Classic 'Fear Effect' Just Shadow-Dropped On Switch
Also forgot to mention in my comment yesterday. This is me finding out that the remake "fear effect reinvented" was cancelled which is a shame
Re: Surprise! PS1 Cult Classic 'Fear Effect' Just Shadow-Dropped On Switch
My memory of this game was saving in a room with minimal health, no healing items and a room full of enemies outside. Unwinnable

Can't believe how much the game suffered by putting out effectively an alpha before release, fixed all the issues identified
But nobody went back to it.
My only issue is I played online and got top equipment which made the story a breeze
