Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Scores New Switch 2 Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@betterthanvegas yeah I was going to mention that the first game was actually brilliant with the prologue being used as a beta version (that likely did more harm than good for switch sales)

But I never thought that was the case here. Infact I was very close to purchasing it on ps5 just because the performance looks so much smoother. (sure the switch trailers uses ps5/pc version as well) lack of gyro controls also hurt as I had just put in another 20 hours on the first game.

That said my choice was made due to me mainly playing handheld mode (and my ps5 is just a dust machine at this point).

Sadly I'm one of the few where the online feature forces my switch 2 to shut down so that's sucked and definately wasn't present in the demo

Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Gets A Free Demo On Switch 2

Having recently replayed the first one and playing online alot (prior to dkb) I can say that this does not feel even close to as smooth as the first one. I've only done one chapter though.... And as I have the deluxe edition physical pre-ordered I'll defo be working my way through it just to make sure I don't need to cancel

Reminder that the 'demo' was more of a beta where feedback and was taken on board and changes made before the full release. They even shared what the changes were but people were too silly to take that on board. I've been playing the first one online alot recently and still loving it. Pre-ordered the collectors edition for the sequel to sit along side my collectors edition for the original

Re: New SteamWorld Game Sales Fell "Slightly Short" Of Thunderful's Expectations

Mayb a different reason for me, I was willing to try a new genre, deck building was new to with hand of gilgamesh and led to me throwing 100 hours into slay the spire....

But the big turn off was the developer videos, and specifically regarding the lore of the games it was revealed they make it up as they go along and have no overarching story... And so it just feels with the genre swapping its just a random game with steamworld aesthetics to rope me in

Re: Best F-Zero Games Of All Time

F-zero 99 is novel at the moment, until we get more courses I can't be anywhere but bottom for me. I don't know is casual players will stick around long enough the content to expand, even more so after failing to win after multiple tries on limited tracks

Just to add, music in gx makes me struggle to keep it as number 1 even though its the f-zero I spent most time with

@stipey
I partly agree with you, but the dynamics aren't the same. The great plat was a taster of the open world... The mechanics we got from the shrines weren't essential to traveling and so what the GP was for me was a wooooow look how big this open world is, and then the reveal that is wasnt even 5% of the map

ToTk was a real tutorial because the mechanics now we're much more necessary to. Traversing the lands and I'll be honest my first hour with the game the menus and button layouts were tough. My girlfriend almost gave up on the game, without structure people would be lost imo
