Disney Animation used to make a sequel once in a blue moon. Now they've announced sequels to two of their three most recent movies.

What matters is that the movies are good, I suppose, but I'm fed up of sequels.

@Fazermint That the game will flop if you can't link levels together. When you're browsing other users' creations, you just want to jump in and out and try various things. Playing full games worth of levels is a much bigger commitment.

This game actually has a much better chance at a Western release than VII as it already has an official English translation for a roughly equivalent version. The DQVII translation was old and for a completely different game (from a technological point of view) - lots of work needed updating the translation and porting it to the new version. DQVIII on 3DS is basically just a straight port. Plus the game's mobile port has already been released in English.

Shame about the 3D, though. It has a huge world, but Xenoblade managed it. Even to have 3D only on New 3DS would have been nice.

A 240-page paperback for £34? Nope.

I was at the London concert, and was pretty disappointed with the merch there. All they had was a Skull Kid t-shirt (just the famous Skull Kid render on a black shirt), and a Majora's Mask poster (I think it had the concert logo on it, but the image wasn't overtly linked with the concert). Having been to the Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds concert, and finding imported game soundtracks, concert soundtracks and DVDs, programmes and art books galore, I was disappointed. Nintendo could make a lot more money here, but they're not really trying.

@Grumblevolcano I am hoping that Nintendo are going to offer these extra features as timed-exclusives for Amiibo, eventually putting it out as DLC. They won't mention that just now to drive the Amiibo sales, but I see no reason why they won't want to make the extra money once they're all sold out.

Nintendo need to sort this out, but I think we as Nintendo fans need to get into the right mindset with these figures. I've started to view them as trading cards, or maybe concert tickets. Some are pretty rare, and it's cool if you get one. If you miss the window to get one, too bad, but there's always next time.

I've got 11 Amiibo and secured another seven in pre-orders right now, though I have missed some that I wanted to get ahold of (largely due to me being slow in placing an order). I view my collection not as something that must be 100% complete, but to see how many cool ones I have the fortune of getting. It's much less stressful that way.

Pretty much every Sonic game since Sonic Unleashed has incorporated 2.5D elements, actually. Generally about 50% of the game.

Yeah, having just bought and beaten this game, either the reviewer is incredibly bad at it or he made a bad estimate at the game length for review purposes. I have beaten the game 100% and my play timer is under 90 minutes (and I left it idle for ten minutes). At the end of the day, the vast majority of puzzles have to be beaten in around three presses of A to get three stars, so in most cases it's just process of elimination. In a lot of places it's harder to get less than three stars!

I really enjoyed it, it's just short for what it's worth. I don't know if NL edit already published reviews, but they might want to consider changing the five hour statement as it's going to mislead a lot of people.

What I would like to see is the little variable-height plastic stands that Nintendo used when initially unveiling Amiibo. They would be a great way to show them off. And can't be expensive to produce, either.

Bit sneaky of Nintendo, only selling the amiibo with the game. I know one of the Amiibos is exclusive to the special edition of the game, but you can't mix and match to get the amiibo you want.

Phew, I got a triple pack. Had to get a small shirt, though! That was the only size left in stock. Shame.

You guys can write a very similar story for Layton 7. I really hope that the main series continues in a sensible way.

Every time new Amiibo go on sale, all I can picture is a dusty desert town with Nintendo fans staring each other down, with their fingers twitching, waiting for the cry "DRAW!" for them to make their orders.

Personally I think people are getting overly excited for a half-hearted remake of a game that failed to set the world on fire ten years ago.

@faint True, I wasn't taking the price into account. There are much nicer HD remakes out there, though.

@lividd3ad I'm not referring to the HD visuals - that's a very small part of the whole picture. The textures look really basic, and the lighting artificial. I just see so many Wii U efforts where they haven't really tried. Whether or not it looks identical to a Wii game or not, my point is people aren't pushing the Wii U to its modest capabilities.

Looks like my kind of thing. Crazy to think it's getting a full price retail release, though. I'd gladly pay a bit more for a box and cartridge (although it's usually cheaper), but paying an extra 24 euros? I'll stick to the eShop.

Something I don't think people have mentioned - most phones have NFC, so Amiibo support on these mobile games isn't impossible.

These have been available in the UK since launch. I have one. It's pretty cool as it charges the 3DS vertically, so saves quite a bit of desk space.

@RupeeClock No doubt it takes skill, It just tends to be these ones that make headlines because the completion times are so crazy, and I click them and realise the vast majority of the game was skipped. It just seems like cutting corners to me. I'm old fashioned.

Am I the only one that thinks glitch-free speedruns should take prevalence over glitched ones? Otherwise records are beaten when new exploits are discovered, not when a player practices to get good enough to shave a few seconds off.

TSSZ reports on anything without any real backing. I wouldn't put too much weight behind this until things play out a bit.

@64supermario It's not a "gamer's" franchise, but trust me, I have a lot of friends that don't really care about "proper" video games that play FM religiously. Kind of like Candy Crush. It's not something a traditional video game fan would be seen dead with, but it's tremendously popular.

£500,000? Surely that's a typo. How could a company have so little money? If so, that's bad news for SEGA.

Is it just me that is outraged that the first prize went to a piece that shows Toad jumping? HOW INACCURATE!!

Nothing really wrong with these guys selling the games at auction, and the buyers deciding they want to pay crazy money for it by bidding it up to that price. Auctions let the buyers decide how much an item is worth, can't fault the seller in this situation. What is scalping is sellers forcing buyers to pay crazy money with no leeway, in this case it would be a buy it now listing for a stupid amount of money.
