Why do they keep giving their BOTW statues the same poses as Nintendo gave their Amiibo? First it was Link, and now it's him. Like, come on...surely they can do a different pose?
It all went downhill in terms of the main series from Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu onwards, in terms of main series games. Intelligent people know the side games are always golden though, somehow, almost as if everyone but Gamefreak know how to make good Pokemon games since then. @_@
(Also, hacks and mods make literally every Pokemon game that's ever existed even better, but I've tried to keep those out of my personal rankings just for fairness sake, as tge GBA games are all sorts of crazy that the 3DS games will probably need to wait years to be explored to the same extent.)
J-Stars is still online, so I compared the rosters and IPs featured in each to try and figure out which IP is pressuring Bandai Namco to just delete the game. From what I can tell, the IP in question could be:
My Hero Academia (Doubt it's this one, as it's too hot of a property to make such a fuss) Yu-Gi-Oh (...Konami's dumb, but they aren't THAT dumb...) Dragon Quest (...Square Enix. Big doubt about them being the culprit.) Black Clover City Hunter Death Note
NGL, I have no idea who has the rights for the last three, but it's likely one of them.
How is that 'C' in the logo not say...a 'P', or even 'A'? That's one of the most overly-stylized C's I've ever seen, and in my mind, I was reading it as 'Sol Presta', or more hilariously, 'Soul Arresta'! xD
Federation Force is why you can't ever say that one game in a series is what killed an entire IP. Federation Force was so poorly received, and I doubt it sold well, but we've gotten two Metroid games since regardless, with another on the way eventually.
IDK man...Super Mario 64 DS was also a launch game, and was a straight up upgrade in every conceivable way, so the whole article feels pretty pointless overall...I'll admit I never played the original much until 3D All Stars, but the entire time I was, I was wishing I was playing the DS version instead. :/
Welp, Crash and Spyro had a great run, and went out on a huge bang. But I'm honestly not expecting a game from either franchise again at this point, unless Activision Blizzard is forced to liquidate all their assets at some point. At which point, the IPs hopefully gets gobbled up by Nintendo, but even Sony getting them wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
The review...didn't quite answer the question that my mind still has...can you indeed play online with randoms? THAT, alone, will sell it for me if the Online is good, and the review implied it was, although giving less than a sentence to something so integral to the game is...weird.
I don't like the idea of the Expansion Pak, especially considering my N64 still works fine, and I also own a Genesis Mini (you know, the actually-good Sega-made one), but the DLC itself looks amazing, and is more than worth the $25 tbh. Apparently Nintendo thinks so too, so...
LOL @ people saying this has to do good for the Metroid series to continue. Federation Force probably sold less than this just this weekend alone, but that didn't kill the series. Also, has everyone already forgot that Prime 4 is still being developed RN? Another Metroid is 100% guaranteed already. Nintendo does what Nintendo wants, nothing more, nothing less. And that's been the way since the beginning.
If this ain't a Monkey's Paw situation, IDK what is. At least, on the worst case, it SHOULD be easier for translators to make a patch for an offline Switch game than an online Wii U game...
So, like...surely someone has recorded this, somewhere, for non-Europeans to enjoy, right? Because although it sounds brilliant, there's a 0% chance I'll head to Europe just to see it...I mean, Pokemon Live was able to be caught on film back in the day, so hopefully this will too?
Love how it literally took Nintendo until the day before that FCC filing goes live to finally get this Direct out. @_@ But IDK man, I'm just overjoyed it's finally happening...
Erm...why would he think he wouldn't be allowed to work on Zelda? Capcom, Koei Tecmo, Brace Yourself Games, and Phillips, of all companies, have all been allowed to make Zelda games throughout the years, so clearly Nintendo is willing to work with people to let them do stuff with the IP...
How did they put so much attention to detail into the game, while still forgetting to translate half the game??! Like....that's a new level of weird, that's for sure.
@Bratwurst35 - Has Nintendo ever done something like publishing strategy games for old games in the past? Like, REALLY old games? No? Yeah, there's no reason for Nintendo to have taken up the idea, due to the fact that that's just not a product that would have THAT big of a financial gain for them, and you know it. They haven't made fluff pieces for very specific niche gamers in ages. The closest you could probably argue would be Labo, and that was a direct tie-in to Switch hardware, and of course, it was made of cardboard, so I'm sure it made...SOME money in the end.
But people have offered to do incredible things with Nintendo over the years, with things like trying to get a new F-Zero game out there, and been denied, so do you REALLY think they would have entertained this niche AF product coming from literally just one really dedicated fan? Wake up. That's not how Nintendo works, and you know they would have turned him down instantly, so why are you so shocked he went the Kickstarter route instead?
@GoshJosh You're absolutely right, and I support your decision. People in Japan do it all the time, in the form of doujin. We have every right to criticize which ever publisher for making decisions that hurt individuals that aren't affecting their income in any way.
I know we don't know for sure if it was Nintendo who did this yet or not (Konami can be pretty awful at times too), but imagine taking Nintendo's side on this. And this is coming from someone with a massive Nintendo bias.
That's actually why I never upgraded the red DS Phat that my friend gave to me at one point - it just resembled a Pokedex so much for me, and I loved that! I only wish the 3DS had a variant I could really say the same about, but my Pikachu N3DS XL I use now will do, at least.
It's gonna be super interesting to learn how the Monster generation will happen this time around. Through Switch cartridges?! I want to witness the wizardry again! ^^
What accusations? All I've heard is pure market research into what may or may not be BS. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill that will only affect such a tiny amount of people in general already...like...do something more worthwhile with your time?
That's a good thing indeed. So far this generation we've had...2 great side games and 0 great main series games, and by this time in a generation the number is usually higher than that.
...I've played it. The gamePLAY is fine. The story is absolutely atrocious though. People complain about a game that takes itself too seriously? Well, this game can barely take itself seriously for more than 3 seconds. Seriously, there's an unexplained talking...Nexomon next to you who does a majority of the 4th wall breaking, and guess what, he'll ruin every single conversation in the game because of that.
After SS, I was eager to try this game on my PS4 when it released initially. But...it's bad. Like, worse than SS bad. Way worse. Just wait for Temtem or play MHS2 until Sinnoh sequels if you need a monster taming game until then.
The Japanese one shows off more characters than the US one, so...how is it being voted on so poorly? :/ The US's background would be all white too if it wasn't for the uniform black design elements that every game had.
Never thought I'd see a new Metal Slug game announced today, let alone the fact that it isn't being made by SNK, or even a shooter at all, and actually looks like a legit great game, is one sentence I never thought I'd be saying today... O_O
Hey, it has a Ranked Mode now. I guess I can finally go out and buy it now that it's in more of a finished state...like, why would you not include that to begin with??
Why did you put the IGN review first? I immediately scrolled to the next entry since IGN has flat out admitted before that they're not qualified for the job they try to do, just like a lot of US politicians...
I'll take DLC you never thought would exist for 1000. But really, that's insane, and I'm so happy that the best Pokemon game in Gen 8 is going to become even better!
